Description
Could you forgive a person who did the unforgivable? What if your life literally depended on it? Can a person change? Can good people do bad things and bad people do good things? Feel No Evil explores these questions, delving into the many gray areas in life and the transformative power of forgiveness. A page-turning, addictive, dark, and yet hopeful, tale—perfect for the age of #MeToo—Feel No Evil will stay with the reader long after the last page.
In 2014, twenty-one years after Kate Berg survived a vicious sexual assault, her attacker, Vin Merdone, shows up as someone she may know on Facebook. After overcoming an eating disorder sparked by the assault, Kate worked hard to make sure that the sinister thread of darkness woven through the fabric of her existence never wrapped itself around her brain again. But Kate knows it’s a gossamer line between well and unwell…and she is about to cross it. Seeing Vin sends her tidy life tumbling like a house of cards—and brings a long-buried traumatic loss to the surface. This is the fight of her life, and she won't emerge without a few scars.
When Part Two opens in April 2019, Vin has shot back into Kate's orbit in the most unexpected way, derailing Kate's hard-earned progress. With the #MeToo movement exploding, will Kate finally get the chance to expose Vin for who he is, after he’s lived a life free from the consequences of his actions? Set against the backdrop of the rancorous political divisions in our country, with a liberal heroine, Feel No Evil dives deep into a friendship fractured in the age of Trump and explores how to forgive and repair those wounds. When the smoke clears and the dust settles in our turbulent times, we’ll need to move past our divisions and back into the hearts and arms of those we've always loved. Feel No Evil celebrates forgiveness, its ability to free one's soul and the role it plays in one woman's triumphant victory over the demons of her past.

#metoo This book grapples with at what point do you come forward with an assault and what are the consequences when you do...Timely provocative and mesmerizing. I highly recommend this book. |

Could you forgive a person who did the unforgivable? What if your life literally depended on it? This book was pretty good! Very interesting. From beginning to end. The story I guess could have been better! But other than that it wss a good quick read. |

This was a hard read but engaging nonetheless. I think more women struggle with these issues silently and this novel conveyed what it must truly feel like to be going through it. Raw and emotional. When do you speak up? Can you forgive someone who took away your core sense of well-being? I don’t ever think those decisions are easy. Recommended. |

This story details the damage caused in one night that forever changed the trajectory of Kate’s life. The male assailant was unfazed and his ambitions still on track; suffering no repercussions. Then, decades later, he re-enters her orbit. Now, at a vital crossroad, who will survive this last skirmish? The situation and storyline are serious so they deserve serious consideration. It’s eye-opening and needs to be read. While not light, if it helps a victim cope, or others to empathize, it is necessary reading. If you know someone with an eating disorder, this might give insight to support them, and to help a victim become a survivor. Recommended. |

Thanks NetGalley, Backlit PR and Stephanie Kepke for a copy. Would you be able to forgive someone who caused you so much damage if you had your apology? How can you move on and lead a normal life after surviving a cruel assault? An engaging emotional read that succeeded to describe what is going inside an assaulted woman and how the damage didn't just end at the assault's night, how it enveloped her afterwards jeopardising not just her relationships, her family but even her own life. As much as it's a hard read, it's also an encouraging Whisper that says to every woman out there who was attacked that you are not alone, we hear you, you are not going crazy and you can and will rise up again. Highly recommended. |

Omg talk about a book to leave you on the edge of your seat. I was totally enthralled. Left wanting more. I think I have a new favorite author. Thus book was EVERYTHING. I could have read this straight through but life got in the way. Man this is a book to read again and again |

I read this book slower than the average person, probably because I was absorbed by the character development and it was easy for my mind to wander into what would I do in Kate's situation. Thankfully, I have no personal experience to draw from, but I feel that the story is relatable to both victims of the #MeToo movement and people with eating disorders in general as well as an eye-opening tale to those of us who are ignorant of such horrors. |
