What a blubbering mess this book left me. The final story did it for me, I couldn’t stop the tears rolling down my cheeks as Mandy’s grandmother married Josie and the support they got from the home and her family, this story really touched me. I also liked how they were not just tied together by the dress, but each of the characters got a mention or played a part in the others story. Mandy mentions Suzanne’s wedding as someone who works with her dad and she sees Will and Bella in the charity shop. And the owner of the dress shop, Gwendoline is amazing, she certainly is a fairy godmother. I loved her heart and how she helped each person and it meant to much to them.

It was all simply wonderful and it really moved me, but then again it’s a given with any Dani Atkins book.

1 dress, 3 brides and a scary looking bridal shop owner who has a heart of gold
1 wanted to punch the soon to be groom in the first part, loved the ending for the 2 people who met under horrible circumstances in the second part and cried ( happy tears ) with the last part
Brilliant, absolutely loved it

The Wedding dress by Dani Atkins is another life affirming story and page turner by the author.
The story is set in three parts but all about one designer wedding dress. Each story different to each other but all linked by the one dress.
The stories are both great stories with likeable characters telling us about the ups and downs of love and life. Which I really enjoyed especially the last one. We can’t help who we fall in love with. 5 stars from me.

A very different book for Dani, not quite what I was expecting but very well written as always. The separate stories had just enough to draw them together. A lovely book to read over your holidays!

This was my first Dani Atkins book so thanks to Head of Zeus and Netgalley for an early copy in return for an honest review.

I really enjoyed this book. It is effectively three short stories connected by the dress. The character that carries through the three stories is not the one that I thought it would be. The three stories are told with sensitivity, love and empathy. I wouldn't suggest its a book where you choose your favourite story, just enjoy all three.

Three women, one dress.

Suzanne - in a whirlwind, she is about to marry Darrell the love of her life. It’s all happened so quickly but it just feels right. When Gwendoline, the owner of fleurs wedding gowns had shown her the dress she immediately knew it was the one. Now she just had to convince her parents that Darrell was the one.

Bella - when she starts the day of her best friends hen do at a theme park she has no idea how that day will end or who she will end it with and the effect that day will have on the rest of her life.

Mandy - being close to her grandmother, Mandy is shocked when she is told a secret her grandmother has been keeping from the family. Mandy is stunned but is so happy for her, she also realises that when her father finds out the secret his mother’s been keeping he’ll be far from happy.

The story takes you on the journeys of three women and how a certain object brings all three women together.

This was such a great book. I love how the stories intertwined and also had separate stories of their own. There were some very emotional parts in it and one story was very reminiscent of one that was in the papers a few years ago. If your a romantic this book is definitely for you.

Another heartwarming, emotional book by Dani Atkins.

I couldn’t put this book down and thoroughly enjoyed the three mini-stories centred around one wedding dress, and how they intertwined.

Another ‘belter’ from Dani Atkins. I always enjoy her books & this one in particular was so beautifully written. It’s a tale of a wedding dress that weaves its way into three different lives in the most wonderful way.

A gem of a book!
Three intriguing very different stories, each a love story in its own right. Suzanne, Bella and Mandy tell their stories.
The only connection being a designer wedding dress from Gwendoline’s exclusive shop.
This book was very cleverly written, the stories were immensely moving and drew the reader in. I couldn’t put it down! I would highly recommend this book
Thank you to Netgalley, Head of Zeus and Dani Atkin for letting me read this book in exchange for an honest review

Another brilliant book from this author, very different to her previous books but an excellent refreshing change which is centered around a wedding dress with three very different women who all had their own stories to tell.

I don't think you can compare this to her other books and say this one isn't as good because it is so different to what this author's previous books are like. It was well written and kept me interested in the three different stories, well done Dani on writing something as a change to your usual books.

I can thoroughly recommend this book and thank you to Netgalley and Head of Zeus Publishers for giving me the opportunity to read this book.

I do like a Dani Atkins book & this doesn't disappoint! A lovely idea, written in three parts about the joy & sadness of a wedding dress that can bring so much to the wearer. Follow three very different stories of the same dress. I must admit the first part was my favourite. Enjoy!

Review of The Wedding Dress by Dani Atkins

This is three separate stories all tied together by one wedding dress and the bridal shop owner Gwendoline. The three woman telling their stories are Suzanne, Bella and Mandy. They all have very different tales to tell. A very different format and a captivating read, with the characters well written.

Another excellent read from one of my favourite writers, in the vein of The Yellow Royal Royce. ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 3 books in one. All excellent tales.

A lovely story about three brides and one wedding dress.

Suzanne is about to be married, but is someone trying to spoil her big day? Bella’s life changed in an instant and she has choices to make as she looks towards her future. Mandy’s grandmother has met the love of her life, but her family doesn't approve.

A great story with a lovely cast of characters which was an enjoyable and entertaining read.

One of the best books I have read in a very long time. This book tells the individual story of three brides each overcoming a difficult time, who wear the same wedding dress on their special days’. Without realising it the brides strories each have a small link to each other. A fabyliys read that made me cry several times over.

Wow what a fabulous read. Three beautiful stories all linked by one very special dress. Some great characters and plots ,its beautifully written and a real page Turner. Read it in just over a day couldn't put it down. A 5⭐read

This was a different book to what I expected, but it was so cleverly done! It follows the story of one wedding dress which ties together three different women. Each woman has their own story and the book tells these stories in three separate parts. The women don't know each other and their stories are all so different. The one constant however is obviously the dress and the bridal shop owner, Gwendoline Flowers. I loved Gwendoline's character, and despite coming across as a little scary and formidable, she certainly has a magical air around her!

The three women we meet are Suzanne, Bella and Mandy. Suzanne is marrying the man of her dreams but as the big day gets closer she begins to wonder if she really knows him at all. Bella"s life changes forever when tragedy strikes while she is on her friend's hen party. Mandy loves her grandmother and does everything she can to help her dreams come true when she wants to marry the love of her life. All completely different stories but each one as original and captivating as the others. They are all stories of love in different shapes and forms, written with warmth, emotion and sensitivity. I loved how the three parts take you on separate journeys, and it felt like I was getting three books for the price of one.

I've read many of this author's books and have loved them all. This book was no different and once started I couldn't put it down until I'd finished. Beautifully written with strong themes of love, family and friendships, I would definitely recommend it!

This was 3 fantastic stories in one. Not what I expected at all but loved it. Gosh I would love to have met Gwendoline Flowers when I was getting married. The fair ground twist was amazing and tearful and the wedding you had no idea who.. Darrell was a character and a half. The twist with Mandy's grandmother was ace. Just brilliant

Fabulous idea and very well told. Three love stories woven around one wedding dress - whether it is used or not. The three tales cover love in different generations, different guises and different places and are all beautiful. You cheer for Suzanne and whether the right person will be walking down the aisle, you empathise with Bella and will her to overcome her barriers and get to the aisle and Amanda's true love carries it all home. Don't know which of the three parts I loved most and I don't think it matters at all!

3 different love stories that are poles apart but held together with one dress and Dani Atkins magic. I wasn’t sure what to expect and feared this novel could be sickly sweet and unlike her thought provoking novels. I was sooo wrong. It’s spellbinding and I loved each one. It showcases different love matches  and is a rollercoaster of emotions in lots of ways. There is romance and more. The life changing experiences were told with sensitivity, depth and love.

I wasn’t sure what to expect with this as it seemed somewhat different to Dani’s previous novels. I wasn’t disappointed. A simple sublime novel, so beautifully written with heart and warmth.

One beautiful wedding dress, 3 women who fall in love with it, and their stories. This is such a lovely book, it made me smile, cry and appreciate my family and friends. I loved it, just what we all need to read at the moment. I enjoyed all 3 of the stories but my favourite is Amandas(Gran). This book is so well written, so easy to read, I couldn't put it down.

Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this book.

The first I am reading this author and it was a joy. Love how an item of clothing cans bring three people and their stories together.

I absolutely adored this book. Dani Atkins brings depth and warmth to her characters and Suzanne, Bella and Mandy are no exception. The book is really three short stories which are linked by the same dress, although each woman’s interaction with the dress is very different. Each part is a love story moving, surprising and beautifully told and complete as a story on its own but with subtle links between all three. I can whole heartedly recommend this book which I devoured in a day and it will stay with me for a long time, wondering where the wedding dress has moved on to now. Beautiful.

I absolutely love Dani Atkins’ books and The Wedding Dress is so beautiful with characters I wish I could keep reading about forever!

I love how this book is split into three parts with each telling a separate love story. There is one thing that connects all three though; a wedding dress! This is all I knew before I started reading as I only looked at the cover (not the synopsis) as I love to begin knowing the bare minimum when I read a book by an author whose writing I already adore! Therefore meeting each of the three main characters Suzanne, Bella and Mandy for the first time was so wonderful. I am not going to say any more about them so that you too can be surprised as you get to learn about the lives of these three incredible women.

I really liked how in all three stories different types of family relationships and friendships were explored and each had such a different story arc. I loved the surprises part one delivered and this continued right up until the final chapter of that section. I didn’t see any of these reveals coming at all! A little reference was mentioned to an event in part one too, which was the day in which Bella’s life changed forever in part two, which I thought was clever. Part two for me was a real rollercoaster ride from beginning to end and I was rooting for Bella so much every step of the way. The last two chapters of that section in particular made me smile so much! Finally, part three was really touching and I liked the special bond Mandy had with her grandmother Amanda. It was clever how the wedding dress found its way into this story line too! I also had a particularly soft spot for Mandy’s boyfriend Jamie!

I know that I will think about this book and all of the incredible characters Dani Atkins has created for a long time to come. Each story is so special and I’ve found myself imagining what each of the characters are doing now. I honestly cannot recommend this book highly enough!

I love Dani Atkins books and this is no exception. 3 women 1 wedding dress and the stories behind it. Was quite emotional at times. Brilliant

The Wedding Dress is another immensely page turning uplifting book from this author. Here we have three different stories with a tenuous link to the same wedding dress.
Suzanne is about to marry the man of her dreams even if her friend’s and family have reservations about him, therefore there are lots of obstacles to overcome and secrets at play, will she discover them before the wedding?
Bella suffers a terrible tragedy but with grit, determination and the help of friends she survives to become stronger and find love.
Mandy’s grandmother tell her a secret, one Mandy is not sure how her family will react to once it’s revealed. Trying to help her grandmother and family is a minefield Sophie’s prepared to cross.
I loved all three stories but Bella’s was my favourite and Suzanne’s a close second, not that I didn’t enjoy Mandy’s but it didn’t have as much depth as the other two.
A lovely read.
My thanks to net galley and publisher for the opportunity to review this book honestly.

I’d like to thank Head of Zeus and NetGalley for giving me the opportunity to read ‘The Wedding Dress’ by Dani Atkins in exchange for my honest and unbiased review.

Suzanne is marrying Darrell but just before the ceremony is due to commence that she receives a visit that changes all their plans. Bella’s friend Sasha is getting married and takes the bridesmaids to a theme park for the day. There’s a terrible accident on the roller-coaster and Bella’s life dramatically changes. Mandy’s widowed grandmother Amanda lives at Sunnymede, an luxury apartments for the elderly, and confides in Mandy that she’s unexpectedly fallen in love again. These are three women in different walks of life, but they all share one thing – their wedding dress!

What a captivating story Dani Atkins has written, one that’s so emotional it’s brought a lump to my throat and tears in my eyes. ‘The Wedding Dress’ has so many engaging characters, too many to mention them all by name, who I’ve had a strong rapport with and felt part of their lives. I was so desperate to know the outcome of the final story that I read till midnight then continued at 6.30 this morning until I’d reached the perfect ending and the final destination of the wedding dress. This has been beautifully written and thoroughly enjoyable story to read and I have no hesitation in recommending it.

Thanks to netgalley for the chance to read this book.

Another brilliant book from Dani.

The books takes us on a journey of a bridal dress. The first bride Suzanne cancels her wedding at the last moment after finding out her husband is still married, The second bride Bella finds herself in a wheelchair after a freak car accident in her friends hen night. And the third bride Mandy finds her falling in love with someone who the majority of her family do not approve of. The book tells the stories of the three women who are wound together by one dress.

Thanks to the publisher and Netgalley for an early review copy.

This book is page-turning and uplifting.
Three different stories, which link to the same dress.

Firstly, Suzanne, whose soon to marry, she thinks, the man of her dreams. Only her friends and family have other thoughts on this. Before the big day, there’s things happening which is making her think that someone doesn’t want this wedding to go ahead, and her fiancé isn’t that bothered about these events and is holding things back, especially as his reasons for them happening, make her worry even more. So, will she find out the truth before she walks down the aisle in the dress? I tried to guess what he was hiding, only turned out it was, more than I thought.
The next story is about Bella. She suffers a tragedy, one that leaves her thinking about the future, one that she had thought would have gone differently to how it looks now, but with her determination and the help of some good friends, she gets stronger and overcomes as best she can what’s happened, and finds love and the dress, again plays a part.
Lastly, the story is about Mandy and her grandmother. She tells Mandy a secret, one which goes down like a lead balloon with her family. Mandy resolves to help her grandmother and Josie, even though it will mean going against her family. Will she succeed and what part does the dress play in her plan?

Recommend It.

Dani Atkins always writes such beautiful stories and in this we get three for the price of one! Three separate stories with one thing that links them all together - a designer wedding dress. The three brides, Suzanne, Bella and Mandy's grandmother each have a part in the history of this beautiful dress and I liked that there were three separate stories - one for each character - and yet they all tied in with one another. I especially loved Bella's story which kept me intrigued as to how things would turn out for her. Also, Mandy's grandma's story was a lovely touch to end on and had me in tears. Another nice little touch was the strict looking owner of the dress shop whose no nonsense exterior hides a heart of gold. I am still wondering what magic the dress went on to weave in the life of another future bride long after these stories have ended. Dani has a knack of writing the most tender and moving prose and I loved this book.. Another gold star offering from one of my favourite authors. My thanks to Netgalley and the publisher for a pre-release copy in exchange for my honest opinion.

What a beautifully told story this is which absolutely shows yet again what a creative and emotive author Dani Atkins is.

The wedding dress is the story of one perfect dress, originally from an upmarket boutique which is told by the families of three brides who get to wear it, all with their own stories to tell. Firstly we meet Suzanne who is about to marry the man of her dreams. We soon find out that he is not what he seems to be and sadly the wedding dress is not needed. Next we meet bridesmaid Bella, who is celebrating her best friends hen party at a theme park when an accident on a roller coaster changes her life. She may not get to wear her bridesmaids dress but the wedding dress will be used unexpectedly and to a tearful audience. Lastly we meet Mandy, granddaughter of our final bride Amanda, who has found someone special again late in life and the dress brings the family together despite initial reactions.

The characters in all three stories are loosely bound together as they meet in opportune fashion, just as it seems that they or the dress is needed. The stories and characters are brought to life and I was laughing, cheering and crying through all, hoping for the happy ending that they all richly deserved.

The book focuses on heartbreak, love, deception, life changing injury and even same sex relationships. All are dealt with very carefully and with great passion and understanding. I would highly recommend this book to anyone and will be very pleased to add it to my collection of books by this amazing author as one of the best she has written.

Thank you to Netgalley, the publisher and the author for the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review.

A beautiful story which took me through all the emotions. I loved how we learnt about the three different women and how the one dress tied their dreams together. All very different stories but beautifully written and full of love and warmth.

This is the first I’ve read from this author but it definitely won’t be the last. This is a collection of 3 novellas which all have a link to ‘The Wedding Dress’. My favourite was ‘Bella’ but I loved all 3 of the stories. Each story takes you on an emotional journey and you really feel for the main characters in each. I definitely cried a few times. I’m not off to download Dani’s back catalogue!

Another great Dani Atkins book - I have read and really enjoyed others by her and wasn't disappointed by this one either. In essence, this is three separate stories, linked together by one beautiful designer wedding dress. Each of the stories were quite different from each other with different characters, although there was a thread of connectivity through them all. The main repeating character is the very scary bridal shop owner, who it turns out actually has a heart of gold!

A wonderful, heart warming and moving book which you will love. In my opinion, it has the perfect ending and I fully recommend this book.

Thank you to Net Galley and the publishers for the chance to read this book in exchange for an honest review, which is what I have given.

The Wedding Dress by Dani Atkins is the story of a beautiful wedding dress, that has an extraordinary life for 3 different brides whose lives have changed in the most unusual ways.

We start with our journey with Suzanne, who finds the dress that makes her feel wonderful at Fleurs Wedding Gowns, and she is planning her wedding to the man she loves, but with an anti-men mother and a father who is coming in from another country for the wedding, and who are bother going to meet her fiancé. But then things start going wrong, and she needs to get to the bottom of it, even if it causes her pain.

Then there is Bella, whose life was sort of going how she wants it, even if she has the biggest commitment-phobe boyfriend in the world! But that didn't matter as today wasn't about her, but about her best friend and bride Sasha. But then a horrific accident happens and Bella's life completely changes. But when life seems to go on without her and her own loved ones are struggling, Bella is grateful for new friends.

Lastly, there is Maddie, who after a very frank conversation with her grandmother, is determined to give her grandmother the wedding of her dreams! Even if she is doing it without her father's approval.

This book was amazing, well written, and with modern and thought-provoking storylines, and with characters that you will never forget and it flowed perfectly from one story to the next.

Wow!

Heart stopping but for all the right reasons!

Anyone who is a fan of Dani Atkins will know reading one of her books involves your heartstrings being pulled in about a million different directions and this one is no different but for happy, life affirming, good vibe reasons.

The story revolves around 3 women and there journeys with one wedding dress!

What I loved was that instead of weaving the characters individual stories together, each one is told in it’s own part of the book. So it was like 3 books in one. With each brides story being told in it’s own segment with a subtle nod to how they are all connected through the dress.

I read this book in two sittings it moved me to happy tears and silly smiles. That only someone with the talent of this author can do! Next book please Dani Atkins!

3 love stories linked together by the wedding dress. this was a sweet formulaic read. Overall a comfortable book by this author

This is quite a unique novel with 3 completely individual stories interlinked by a remarkable wedding dress. A dress that holds many stories.

From the cover of the book you could be mistaken for a frothy chicklit read but I found two of the stories were a little dark and sinister in aspects with emotional and physical traumas and struggles. However, these stories were needed to be woven into the seams of the dress to make it even more remarkable.

I enjoyed each story but I think my favourite was the last one, it just held a little more magic and feeling for me.

I would have loved an epilogue to see how the characters from each story are getting on but maybe the author has left this up to the imagination of the reader to envisage their own epilogue.

Completely unique and an enjoyable collection of stories.
