Matthew Davenport has done it again. I greatly enjoyed this thrilling, action-packed (dash of horror) adventure. This book starts right where the last book left off, and Andrew Doran is where he usually likes to stay, in the middle of trouble. Not only does the pacing of this book make it a speedy read, but it also ensures that you will not have a chance to be bored. You will not be able to put this book down.

Let's talk about magic. Davenport's way of describing how magic is used and works are both familiar and unique. One of the best ways to describe it is John Constantine, but way more multicultural. The interwoven history within this story and the magic makes it an adventure you will not be able to get out of your head. Also, who doesn't love hordes of the undead coming to attack.

With both old characters and new ones, this book adds excellent layers to the Andrew Doran series. Be sure to check this out, because I loved it and I think that you will too!
