They say dogs can't dance . . . but nothing will stop Lulu!

Lulu is a happy little pug who lives in New York City with her family, Belle and Doug. They spend their time exploring the bustling city and going on adventures together. When Belle and Doug attend dance classes, Lulu sees them waltzing and tries to join in on the fun, but she trips over her own feet and falls. Lulu is embarrassed but determined.

Lulu wants to waltz more than anything. Will she be able to concentrate on practicing or will she get distracted and not learn the proper techniques? Can dogs learn to dance?

Lulu the Unstoppable Dancing Dog is a fun and lighthearted children's book with a subtle but powerful underlying message that practice makes perfect and that with hard work and determination you can do anything you set your mind to.

This was a cute story about Lulu, a dog who wants to learn how to dance. After a dance teacher tells Lulu that dogs can't dance, Lulu seeks out her own teacher. She and Stu, another dancing dog, get to it. However, she is thwarted in her efforts by distractions. Eventually, Lulu and Stu give a showstopper performance. While this was super cute and I really enjoy stories of perseverance, I struggled a bit with Lulu's motivations. Sometimes it felt like she just wanted to dance to prove to other people that she could, and I'm not sure I love that message. She becomes distracted with pizza, which can happen to anyone, let's be honest. But, I would have preferred that Lulu had looked more internally about why she wanted to dance. Overall, cute story for any aspiring dancers out there! Thank you to NetGalley for this ARC in exchange for this honest review.

Thanks to Netgalley and Greenleaf Book Group for a free digital copy. A cute book about a dog who desires to learn to waltz. I don't love the attitude it has towards food though. It villainizes pizza in a way that isn't an example I would want a child to follow.

A story about determination, practicing skills and overcoming obstacles. All told through the eyes of one adorable little pug with a dream to dance! I love the interactive aspects of the book as well. There is a seek-and-find game and included after the story is a lesson in how to draw Lulu. Perfect for keeping the littles engaged and their creativity flowing.

This was a very unique book. I am still not sure how I feel about it. I love the concept that if you practice and work hard you can do just about anything. But it was a little weird looking at a sashaying dog with a rose between her teeth. It is on the border of funny and weird, but I don't know which side it ended up on. I think I found it a little bit more fun than weird.

Lulu the Unstoppable Dancing Dog is the one of the cutest children’s books about a little dog who wants to waltz like her owners. I will buy and read this story to my granddaughter when the book comes out. The illustrations are lovely too. My granddaughter has a dog and cats she just loves.

We absolutely loved this book. It was adorable, funny and had a great message! I really enjoyed how relatable and sweet Lulu is. I also loved the New York setting, going to Broadway shows, sneaking off for delicious slices of pizza and chasing your biggest hopes and dreams!

Reminiscent of Giraffes Can't Dance, Lulu teaches young heart everywhere the importance of being brave and doing what makes you happy. I just reviewed Lulu the Unstoppable Dancing Dog by Marie Dimitrova. #LulutheUnstoppableDancingDog #NetGalley [NetGalley URL]

I've seen several young readers over the years where an unlikely animal wants to learn to dance, all forgetting to acknowledge "Happy Feet" (and probably a thousand tales that existed long before that did). This one features a dog who wants to do whatever her humans do, and they like to waltz – meaning so does she. It's the standard story of unexpected success, but the inclusion of Lulu's downfall was quite a nice touch. The illustrations are lively, expressive and colourful, and the text well pitched to the particular age range. The format runs and runs...

I love the themes of perseverance and friendship in this story! Lulu loves watching her people dance and wants to try it for herself. When a naysaying dance instructor dismisses her, she meets a friend who offers nothing but encouragement. Still, her attempt is not without pitfalls and she learns, while supported by her kind and accepting friend, to learn from her missteps and try again. The tale is accompanied by detailed and pretty illustrations in a hand-drawn style. There's also a seek-and-find game hidden on the pages for kids and a drawing activity at the end. This could be a very appealing book to kids fascinated either by dogs or dance and might be a good inducement to get them reading. Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

Lulu the dog was such a cute and determined pup. My daughter also enjoyed the story. It taught a valuable lesson - you can do anything and improve if you focus and put your mind to it! There was a fun activity, too, where kids can search for hidden bones throughout the story. And at the back, there are some instructions for how to draw lulu dancing, too!

I can do relate to this dog! I loved seeing NYC through the dogs eyes and that she likes Broadway shows and gets distracted from her goals by pizza! Who can't relate to that? I would definitely buy this for my nieces!

This story was fairly ridiculous and silly being about a dancing dog. So, of course, my two year old son loved it. Dogs wearing tutus and sneaking out to attend secret dance lessons. Of course a toddler would love that! This story about a dog who wants to enter dance competitions along with her humans. The true heart and purpose of this tale is that it takes hard work to succeed even when you have a passion and a talent for something. Lulu the dog fails and faces embarrassment and ridicule before she understands how important it is to practice and work hard for what she wants. I appreciated the message about it taking hard work to succeed. I don't see very many children's books that emphasize this so it filled a gap in the messaging I want my child to absorb. While the initial premise of this story was pretty ridiculous the lesson it imparts is very needed and a good one. My son enjoyed this for the art and the pure silliness of it and I was happy that he was getting a valuable message while being entertained. A final note, this story seems to be aimed at slightly older children than my own toddler. I think he will appreciate it more as he ages. The prime age for this story is likely around six years old dependent on the child. My son is two and he still enjoys it. It is silly and fun and holds his attention but he is an avid reader just like his mom and I expect this is one he will grow to love more as he gets older. Five stars. #LulutheUnstoppableDancingDog #NetGalley

Lulu loves her people and she loves to dance. Lulu watches her caretakers dance and she wants to get in the act and compete. However, she is told that dogs do not dance. It is pure determination that she learns to dance. It is love that compels us, including dogs. This sweet story will capture your child's heart and compel love to drive them. There are many lessons in Lulu's story and it will become a favorite. A special thank you to Greenleaf Book and Netgalley for the ARC and the opportunity to post an honest review.

Great book, with a great storyline and cute and colourful illustrations too! Follows the story of a dog who wanted to learn to dance but was told she couldn't and that dogs don't dance. Well she proved that if you put your mind to something, anything is possible.

I recieved a copy of this through NetGalley in exchange of an honest review. This is about Lulu's the dog who after attending dance lessons with her humans decides she wants to dance as well! It was such a cute and silly book unfortunately it did not hit the mark for me and my kids. It was just a little too long and drawn out and my kids lost attention quickly. I found myself stopping the book to wrangle them rather than enjoying the story.

I now feel that I need a Lulu in my life! I loved this book!. Marie Dimitrova tells such a fun and engaging story. I thought the underlying themes of practice and not giving up on your dreams were great. I also had a lot of fun with the search that was included in the story. And the learn to draw at the end was a fun thing to include. Overall, this was an excellent story and the illustrations were beautiful. Would recommend to a friend.

So this book was extra loved in my house. My mom has a fawn pug and they just loved seeing a dog that looked like their Grandma's dog. Plus a dog learning to dance is so cute. It was such a great story about persevering despite being told you can't do something. Then it shows the importance of practice. That is a lesson that is hard to learn as a young kid. It showed that you can want to do something but if you don't practice and try then it will be hard to succeed.

Thank you #netgalley for allowing me the opportunity to read this book in exchange for an honest review. I personally did not enjoy this book. I found it to be boring. I'm not sure what kids would think of it. I guess there was just nothing about this book that stood out to me. No humor... there was a good moral, but what is that when there's no joy in the book, and nothing special supporting the morals? Even the pictures just didn't stand out. I really wanted to like this book more than I did.

Lulu the pug lives every dog's dream in New York City with her two adoring people, Bella and Doug.  They take walks, visit museums, see shows and eat at Lulu's favorite restaurant, Joey's pizza.  When Lulu watches Bella and Doug dance, she wants to waltz like them too, but pugs aren't built to dance.  Lulu finds her own doggie dance teacher, but she has to keep practicing.  Instead, Lulu keeps getting sidetracked by pizza.  Lulu has to put in the work in order to show everyone that dogs can dance too.   Lulu the Unstoppable Dancing Dog is a fun and inspiring story about sticking with it and reaching for your goals.  Lulu is a fun and lovable character. Even though she is a dog, she faces the same trials in learning a new skill as everyone else.  Lulu's determination and passion for learning how to dance shines through.  However, Lulu's story turns out to be extremely relatable as she forgoes practice in favor of pizza.  With amazing illustrations, Lulu seems to dance off the page.  Lulu's message of skill building, determination and practicing to succeed will ring true with readers ages 4-9. This book was received for free in return for an honest review.

Lulu loves to dance and she won't let the naysayers stop her! This is an adorable book with really fun illustrations about Lulu the pug who is determined to dance her heart out. The lesson the follow your dreams even when others doubt you is so important for kids to hear repeatedly in their formative years. I can't wait to read it to my son! There is a step-by-step guide at the end to learn how to draw Lulu, which gives additional appeal to slightly older readers.
