Description
Twenty years ago, I stole something that could win the war between Heaven and Hell. Don't get me wrong, I'm no do-gooder. I wanted to rule everything with the King of Hell. However, I have serious qualms with killing 8 billion people in order to get what I want. He didn't. Irreconcilable differences, right?
So, I did what any witch would do. I faked my death and hid out in the Seattle suburbs, living as a mundane. Stay at home moms are practically invisible here!
I had a good thing going until a hellhound showed up on my morning run. Guess you can't thwart the devil's machinations and get away with it forever. Time to come out of the supernatural closet and save the world. Again.

What an enchanting story. Eastside Hedge Witch: A Paranormal Women's Fiction is just the picture combination of fantasy and suspense.
Who knew hiding could be so interesting.
Miriam is a widowed single mom raising a teenage daughter, who is a shifter. Miriam's husband was a demigod and attempted to protect Miriam but ultimately seemed to keep her in the dark about most everything. When circumstances bring out her identity as a powerful witch who has not practiced in some time, her world opens to the neighbors and community with whom she shares her life. The world building is excellent and expansive. The characters are multifaceted. I loved this book and am eager for more time in this world. I read this book on Netgalley in exchange for an honest review.
This book doesn’t hold back, the action starts straight away! Miriam has lead a mundane life for the past 20 years, but she is anything but! She is hiding from her past and trying to keep her daughter safe. Her past catches up with her and other secrets are revealed which mean she needs to look into her past and acknowledge who she really is. Gabriel is the gorgeous Alpha male who has been on the outskirts of her life for a long time. Events mean that they need to come clean to each other what they’re capable of. In trying to prepare for the fight with her past Miriam finds another life she had forgotten. Enter Phyr a fae she knew in the life she was forced to forget. She now has too hot, alpha males vying for her attention. Hot! There is a lot going on in this story and you need to concentrate to keep it all in order, but it’s so interesting that you want to know if all! I think this will turn in to a great series and my one complaint is I need to wait so long for the next book.
This book is in a word enthralling. Written with such lucidity and skill. I highly recommend it. It's one of the best books I have read lately.
Eastside Hedge Witch by T.J. Deschamps is one of the best Paranormal Women's Fiction books I've read, and I've read more than a few. Refreshingly, the book strays from the typical midlife crisis-brings- powers theme of most of the books in PWF, introducing us to a powerful witch instead. She still has to rediscover some of her history and power, but the journey of discovery isn't brought on by personal trauma.
Deschamps has written a complex page-turner with compelling characters that run the gamut of the supernatural world - not only witches but Nephilim, demi-gods, angels, fae, weres, and many more. Interspersed in the excellent storyline is social commentary on the situations women face in today's world, yet it is done in the context of the story without coming across as being preachy.
The book races towards a conclusion that is satisfying yet leaves the reader wanting more! I look forward to the next book and thank #NetGalley for providing the book.
