Description
Tragedy haunts reincarnated lovers Suri and Kiran as they struggle against unexpected foes in this lush and mesmerizing sequel to The Heartless Divine.
After a tumultuous New Year’s, Suri is ready to put the past behind her, giving up on the mystery of her family’s death against the muted backdrop of Kiran’s conclusion to the myth of his mortal life.
But the threads that bind them stretch farther than a single life, and the magic that once led the god to Suri’s doorstep has other plans.
Drawn into a labyrinthine punishment centuries in the making, Suri and Kiran quickly learn that with other souls tangled in the tragedies they’ve shared since the fires of Marai, there is more at stake than a simple love story.
As ancient ghosts and dark secrets spill out into the light, revealing a bitter tale of betrayal that defies myth itself, gods and mortals alike are forced to confront how far they are willing to go to protect those they love and avenge all those they have lost.

i read the heartless divine earlier this year and it became an instant top 5 for me, varsha's writing was so beautiful and it captured my entire attention i couldnt stop reading until i finished the book and with thd's cliffhanger i was so excited for the second book in this series.
the forsaken souls started off really strong picking up almost exactly after the events of thd in both the old and modern timelines, it was such a trip to go back into that world and continue where we left off in thd, we get to know more about kiran's past, found out more about suri and the entire plot line surrounding viro and tarak was so interesting to read about.
I will say though, that the flowery writing became too much at some points and it was getting hard for me to keep up with the storyline because of it but other than that while i still prefer the heartless divine, the forsaken souls is the perfect follow up to it and i can't wait for more from varsha!
The Forsaken Souls is the sequel to The Heartless Divine, a book I read a few days ago and absolutely adored. So I was very much looking forward to reading this and reuniting with my beloveds Surikiran.
There were so many good things about this book; it was great to be back with Surikiran and learn more of the world of THD and TFS, the reincarnation aspect and the godly pantheon. We get to see and visit many beautiful places. Reading Varsha Ravi's descriptions of them felt like a movie playing in my mind. At the start, I felt like the flower language used was dragging down the pace of the story so I struggled with it for a bit, but in the latter half of the book, it felt just right. I do wish there had been a lot more of Surikiran than we got, but nevertheless I loved all the scenes they had together, plus the ones they had individually with the other characters. This book also solidified my love for Kiran and made me love him a lot more than I already did.
I think the closer we get to the release date, the more polished and more perfect the book will become and more people will eagerly fall in love with Surikiran and the wondrous world Varsha Ravi has created.
