This is such an adorable tale of a chicken that won't give up. It shows that grit and determination pay off, and was cute to boot! I particularly enjoyed the support the chicken received from the parent chickens, and the purposeful repetition of language while they try something new. Overall, a cute and catchy book for little ones.

Chickens Don't Ski! is a picture book about some chickens who want to go to the winter festival in town, but it's too far for them to walk in so much snow. Lily, the daughter, decides to craft some skis to carry them into town. Upon their first trial, they discover they aren't great skiers, BUT they did make it all way to town so problem solved! Cute, simple illustrations make this book a good option for very young children.

Lily wants so badly to see her friends at the winter festival in town, but a snowstorm makes walking impossible. Resilient Lily doesn't let that stop her, though! She fashions skis and the family sets off, even though chickens don't ski--yet!

This is a sweet tale about being brave and challenging your expectations of yourself. The story encourages readers to try new things and experiment with possibilities, which is a great message for young readers. The illustrations are super cute too! This would be a fun circle time read for pre-K and early elementary.

This is an unique children's book with bright cheerful picture and no words. My daughter was able to tell a complete story about winter festival and the chick on skis.

I guess it's true when they say "a picture is worth a thousand words"

Chickens don’t ski but chickens can learn! Lily and her parents won’t be able to go to the Winter Festival because of the deep snow. Resourceful Lily finds wood, fashions skis and even rescues her mother and father after they both fall in the snow. It’s a short, simple story about Lily’s accomplishments and is enhanced by delightful illustrations. A chicken on skis will make all young children smile. 5 stars.

Cute little tale about some curious chickens trying to get through the snow storm to their winter festival

Chickens don't wear skis is a cute picture book about determination. When Lily is told they can't go to the Winter Fest because if the snow, she doesn't give up, she works until, she comes up with a solution. The story is short but entertaining, and the pictures are engaging. I think kids will love it! This is the second book about Lily, so I will have to go back and check out the first one. This is a cute book about a chicken who is prevented from attending the winter festival because of too much snow. The plucky chick creates some skis so her family can get to the festival. Fun fact - chickens don't ski. This would be a really cute board book.

I thought that this book had some lovely cute illustrations, they are simple, but fit the story perfectly.

It is 4 stars from me for this one, a nice book, quick to read and easy to follow - highly recommended!

This is such a sweet book of perseverance, kindness, confidence and conviction. I love that the book encourages young ones to follow dreams, even if they're not the 'normal' or 'acceptable' route to follow. I love the ingenuity and really found this a sweet book.
