Description

ORPHANED AND CAPTURED BY ALIEN FLESH PIRATES

When the dreaded intergalactic flesh pirates raided ten-year-old Angel’s village, her beloved older brother fell under phaser fire as he tried to protect her. She watched the life fade from his agonized moss green eyes as terrified screams and explosions filled the air.

Desperately, she reached for their mental bond to hold her brother to her, only to have it fade into the void. One by one, her family and friends were silenced until, for the first time in her young life, the community in her head was lost. Silence, terrible silence, was all that remained.

She was captured and put into suspension where she remained -- paralyzed, trapped, fully aware, and utterly alone for ten long years.

FOR TEN YEARS HE RELENTLESSLY SEARCHED FOR HIS STOLEN MATE

He knew the moment she was born. Alien Lord and Commander Kane McKean watched his destined bride from afar, waiting for her to grow from child to woman. Before she was old enough for him to approach, she was stolen from her home world.

Finally, in his desperate search, he located the space station that housed, rehabilitated, and placed rescued females. There, still in suspension, he found his bride, only to discover that, while her body had matured into a beautiful woman, mentally she was a ten-year-old child trapped in eternal sleep.

He was a thousand-year-old immortal lord bonded to a child in a woman’s body. Having lost her once, he could not be parted from her. He woke and rehabilitated her – took her home, loved and provided for her while promising himself he would give her time to grow up. But had he waited too long? Would he lose her to another, never having told her she was his mate and loose his life to mating fever in the process?

When Kane insisted they attend a presentation ball, Angel was convinced her beloved guardian would take another female as mate. How could she have ever imagined she was woman enough for the lord of the entire planet? Had she been nothing to him but a charity case all along? She fled him in despair, casting herself into the sea.

I have to admit, when I saw this cover, I was not too impressed. With that said, I liked the synopsis of this book. I really enjoyed this. I was not expecting to like it as much as I did. I enjoyed the worlds and the male and female main characters. I loved that the male main character was totally about how the female main character was feeling.

I wish it was a little longer. I kind of feel like it ended very abruptly. I was hoping for a little more about the conflict that happened. I don't want to give spoilers, but something happened at the Presentation Ball and I wish there was more to that or that it came back in the future to cause more of a conflict.

This is the third in a series, but I don't think you need to read the first two in order to understand this series. I mean I was fine reading this installment.

This is a different take on an alien romance. Kane has tremendous control and he certainly needed it. Angel has no clue what she is truly in the middle of. It's well written with a happy ending. I enjoyed it.
