Description

Art history student Darcey Mendes needs a new topic for her thesis in order to graduate, but time is against her. Family debts are pressing. She fears she must give up all hopes of an academic career. Yet, without her degree, would she earn enough to provide for her secret daughter's future?

Archie Northwood, rich and from a privileged family, suddenly reappears in her life to offer the chance that could save her—the story of his Brazilian great-grandmother. His ancestor was Modernist painter Ana Eça, who, on the verge of stardom in the 1920s, mysteriously vanished from public view forever.

Choosing to unveil Ana's story is a complicated proposition for them both. How will they be able to work together to resolve the decades-old mystery when Darcey cannot allow Archie to guess her secret?

The Art of Always is told in dual timelines. Ana, who is in the 1920s and Darcey in the 90s. Ana is a rising artist who is very passionate about her art. Darcey is a mother of a three year old and is working on her PhD in Art History. Through Darcey's program, she is given the opportunity to delve into the life of Ana Eca. This book is full of Brazilian culture, secrets, intrigue and beautifully written. Thank you Netgalley and Wild Rose Press for a copy in exchange for an honest review.

This is a dual timeline story of love. Darcey is working on her thesis but the family is running out of money for her to continue. She lives with her parents who take care of Darcey young daughter. She wants to finish her education so she can take care of all of them. When she is offered the chance to research the family of wealthy Archie Northwood, she thinks she can do both. A good story with some rich Brazilian history.
