"more forgetting time. more midnight dances with yourself."
amanda lovelace, the bestselling & award-winning author of the “women are some kind of magic” poetry series, presents a new companion series, “you are your own fairy tale”. the first installment, break your glass slippers, is about overcoming those who don’t see your worth, even if that person is sometimes yourself. in the epic tale of your life, you are the most important character while everyone is but a forgotten footnote. even the prince.

These poetry collections are just everything, I like how Amanda points out that subject matter can be difficult and encourages self care. I think everyone can at least feel and resonate with at least one poem. I find them inspiring and soul warming

I was given an audio book copy from NetGalley to review.
Overall this was a fantastic audio book that was very uplifting. The background music added to the atmosphere and led to a more profound explanation while listening. The poems themselves were thought provoking and a little emotional at times. Making for a fantastic and emotional read, perfect for those times when one your just going through the motions of everyday life and are in need of some guidance.

Thank you to Netgalley and Andrews McMeel Audio for an ALC of this book.
Combination Cinderella retelling and self-love poetry, this quick audio has the beautiful verse you can expect from a sensation such as Amanda Lovelace and will inspire you to rethink how you see yourself and relationships.
I really loved this. I absolutely devoured it and love when audios are narrated by the author--especially for poetry. It just does so much to really tell the story the way it is meant to be told. This book seriously had me feeling really good at the end and kind of empowered. I definitely recommend it!
Content Warnings
Graphic: Fatphobia, Toxic relationship, and Eating disorder
Moderate: Child abuse, Suicidal thoughts, Mental illness, and Misogyny

This is probably one of my favourite poetry collections! I loved the body-positive message, the discussion of what it means to truly be a feminist and what it means to live in a world with so much misogyny. Everything about this collection was amazing!
