The artwork in this book is really lovely and engaging. There is a lot of information about animal relationships that young animal-lovers will find interesting. I think I would prefer the book if it didn't have the made up scenarios where the animals are playing games and then the author has to explain that the animals don't actually play hide-and-seek together, etc. Seems like a confusing element in a fact-based book. Kids might find that amusing though. Overall, great book that I'd recommend to young patrons who are interested in animals.

This is a beautiful book about animal relationships. The comic-book-style illustrations will hook a young reader in quickly. The pages are full of facts and science about animal relationships to be an excellent addition to any non-fiction library. The glossary in the back of the book is helpful to younger readers and vocabulary development.

Animal BFFs has cute drawings and interesting tid-bits of information about animals and how their "friendships" work. Being that it was an electronic version of it, I probably won't provide it to my children, but also didn't find the information as outstanding that makes me want to go out and purchase a hard copy.

I enjoyed this book and I think I would love it as a child. The illustrations are really nice and the topic is interesting. I didn't know most of the information in this book, and the symbiotic or parasitic relationships between different animal species are truly interesting.

What brings my rating of this book down a bit are the wanna-be-funny double-pages that are anthropomorphic portrayals of the animals having parties, taking pictures together etc. and precede the actual info about how the two animals interact with each other in real life. So there is always a not serious double-page and then a double-page talking about the reality. On one hand sure it's a book for kids, but on the other kids are not stupid and can enjoy an informative book without the actual information being watered down by jokes. The scientific facts are usually just one side of the double-page and on the other are the two animals talking to each other about the fact, in a nice and understandable manner. This could suffice as the kid-friendly part and not disrupt the flow of the book like the joke pages.

Despite that, it's still a nice book and I especially liked the glossary at the end, which explains more difficult words the child might not know. For a kid that likes animals and weird animal facts, especially if they like animal jokes and picture books with a little bit of humour, this might be a good book.

This was an adorable book about pairs of animals who are friends in the wild. The book has beautiful illustrations and is filled with educational animal information. The book presents each pair in a fictional manner first where they're talking and being silly with one another. Next, there are facts and information about the animals. This is quite a long book and I would use it as more of a reference book versus a read aloud. Kids will enjoy sitting and jumping around to different pairs to read about the friend groups. I love books like this because it would be great in a science classroom! It would fit well in any elementary classroom but would also be fun for kids to explore during a science unit. It's great when books can be incorporated into all classrooms. Would also be a favorite at home for families to read about various animals together!

This engaging non-fiction picture book shares the ways that animals help each other survive. The illustrations are cute and detailed. Each section shows a pair of animals. On the first page the animals are doing something silly together, like dancing. On the next page, the text explains how the animals aren’t really doing that silly thing, and shows the actual way that those animals help each other. In a classroom or at home, kids could use this book to learn more about animals and their relationships. There are some tricky science-specific words throughout the text, so students may need an adult’s help to understand the text.

Ostriches and zebras; warthogs and Banded Mongooses; Elephants and Baboons; Sloths and Sloth Moths; Bushveld Lizards and Oogpister Beetles-these are just some of the animal buddies who feature in this title. What brings these animal friends together? Young naturalists will enjoy finding out in this interesting and well-illustrated title.

KIds (and adults) will learn about symbiosis in its varied forms. This will help them to understand why certain species spend time together. Be sure to look at the friendly facts that provide additional insights. Read in order or page through; either way there is a lot to learn.

Many thanks to NetGalley and Quarto/Frances Lincoln Children’s Books for this title. All opinions are my own.

This fun and entertaining non-fiction children's book tells about several pairs of animals who help each other and work together to adapt to their habitat. Displaying the term symbiosis powerfully with several concrete examples, this book shows that animals can work together to solve many problems, including hunting together, feeding off bothersome bugs and looking out for one another. With intriguing illustrations, funny thought and speech bubbles, and fact boxes to give more background information, I could see this book keeping young readers entertained and interested for hours. As a grade 3 teacher I could definitely see this book in my classroom and would love to use it as an introduction to lessons on symbiosis in Science. I would recommend this book to parents, teachers and librarians of students in the 5-12 age range. Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read and review this great book!

Animal B.F.Fs was beautifully illustrated and engaging. My little animal lover adored all of the animal pairs.

Very informative and allowed us to go on many tangents. The humour was easily understood and enjoyed by both young and old.

They would laugh at the illustrations and soak up the amazing facts! I love that it compares and contrasts so many different animals. This would be a teaching tool and a great addition to any classroom or school library. I will be anxiously waiting to add this one to my own classroom collection!

This book is so fun. I know it is targeted towards children but even at 30 years old, I really loved it. It's so interesting to see how animals know what animals to trust and how to adapt and survive by becoming BFFs with other animals. The illustrations are really cute and detailed without looking too realistic. My little cousin is 10 and he's OBSESSED with science and animals. I can't wait for this book to come out so I can buy it for him. He is going to love it so much.

Thank you Netgalley for giving me a sneak peek of this really awesome book.

I received an advance reader copy of this book to read in exchange for an honest review via netgalley and the publishers.

Animal BFFs is a really interesting book of animal facts and information about curious Pairs of animals who are friendly in the wild. I found this a delight to read through with the adorable and fun illustrations to brighten up the information for the child reading it.
I learned so much new information about the animals featured in this book and found it amazing to read about.
The book not only teaches children about these unique animal friendships and the benefits of all animals being friendly with other animals in the wild, but it also expands the language of the child throughout the book. Words such as mutuality, parasitism and commensalism are introduced and expanded on for the children's knowledge and language expansion.
I really enjoyed this and found it a fun and informative read.

From under the sea to in the sky, varying species have adapted their habits to get the best chance for food by associating with others. Some might be friendly and mutually beneficial while others are not. This book gives brief yet memorable facts about these relationships. Very colorful graphics keep the readers’ attention and help to remember the details whenever seeing a particular pair (e.g. turkeys and deer) from the book. Very appealing educational book that I recommend be on every child’s bookshelf.
I received an advanced reader copy for free from NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving my review.

A really fun book with a number of unusual animal friendships. The illustrations are anthropomorphic so not the most realistic at times, but I enjoyed learning about a number of unique relationships! Elementary school aged readers will really enjoy this one.

Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for providing this ARC in exchange for an honest review.
