Why You Were Born by David L. Johnston is a Christian book that answers and gives confidence in self-exploration and identifying our function in the body of Christ. We are created in His image because the Bible has said so. The book elaborates on our values based on bible scriptures; no other copy and only one original, so one had better enjoy being yourself. The second part of the book talks about details of seven gifts: Messenger, Helper, Explainer, Encourager, Provider, Organizer, and Caregiver. This book describes each gift's strengths and weaknesses in detail for those who are not aware of the gifts given by God.
I like how the author sees that wisdom is found only in God "God understandeth the way thereof, and he knoweth the place thereof." (Job 28:23).
I think the end supplement part two is supposedly put in chapter two to make the book concise and reduce redundancy on that part. Despite that, I rate this book 5 out of 5 stars.
The author shares many inspiring stories of people who overcame tremendous adversaries and misfortunate. They were able to impact many through their accomplishment. I recommend this book for Christians who feel down about themselves and how to turn themselves up to be great men and women of God.
