Description

“The queen of beach reads” (New York Magazine) and #1 New York Times bestselling author delivers an immensely satisfying page-turner in this tale about a summer of scandal at a storied Nantucket hotel.

Fresh off a bad breakup with a longtime boyfriend, Nantucket sweetheart Lizbet Keaton is desperately seeking a second act. When she’s named the new general manager of the Hotel Nantucket, a once Gilded Age gem turned abandoned eyesore, she hopes that her local expertise and charismatic staff can win the favor of their new London billionaire owner, Xavier Darling, as well as that of Shelly Carpenter, the wildly popular Instagram tastemaker who can help put them back on the map. And while the Hotel Nantucket appears to be a blissful paradise, complete with a celebrity chef-run restaurant and an idyllic wellness center, there’s a lot of drama behind closed doors. The staff (and guests) have complicated pasts, and the hotel can’t seem to overcome the bad reputation it earned in 1922 when a tragic fire killed nineteen-year-old chambermaid Grace Hadley. With Grace gleefully haunting the halls, a staff harboring all kinds of secrets, and Lizbet’s own romantic uncertainty, is the Hotel Nantucket destined for success or doom?

Filled with the emotional depth and multiple points of view that characterize Hilderbrand’s novels (The Blue Bistro, Golden Girl) as well as an added dash of Roaring Twenties history, The Hotel Nantucket offers something for everyone in this compelling summer drama.

Thank you to NetGalley, Hachette Audio, and Elin Hilderbrand for an advance listening copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. I went into this one blindly and it turned out to be just what I needed! What an absolutely perfect beach and summer read! I felt transported to Nantucket and loved getting to know this cast of quirky, but fun group of characters! The mystery aspect that was added to the story with Grace was fantastic as well. This narrator of this book was amazing so enjoyable and I really liked listening to them being Hildebrands story to life. You can pick up this book on 6/14/22!!

Do you have an author that you associate with vacation reading too?! For as long as I can remember, #ElinHilderbrand has been that author for me.

I brought 9 (hard copy) books on our 7 day honeymoon to St. John USVI back in 2009 (hey, these were pre-Kindle days!} and three of them were Elin books!

Maybe it is the nostalgia for me but when I received this book on #audiobook right in time for our April trip, I knew it was a sign that I needed to read it on our spring break vacation.

I wasn't sure what to expect as I am a big fan of her older books but her last few have been hit or miss for me. So not only did this end up being such a pleasant reading surprise, but I am still thinking about it a couple weeks later! A sure sign of a 5-star read.

I enjoyed that it featured the hospitality industry, much like #TheBlueBistro did. ⁣It has a large cast of characters who all have their own storylines but also all intertwine. I even loved the paranormal element which I wasn’t sure about at first!

All in all, this was just the perfect vacation read. It had enough depth to not feel like total fluff, and the food descriptions and amazing summer vacation location just made it so incredibly fun to read.

I don't normally go on and on about beach books, but this one really deserves all the stars! I found it engrossing and the ending felt so satisfying and full circle. Whether you are an Elin fan already, or just want a fun summer read that will keep you totally entertained, I highly recommend adding The Hotel Nantucket to your summer reading list!

The narration by Erin Bennett was so well done and she did a great job bringing this unique story to life!

Thank you to Hachette Audio and Little Brown & Company for my gifted review copy.

Nantucket is a paradise right off the coast of Massachusetts, Elin brings the island to life and tell a wonderful story that beckons a trip over in the near future.

One of my favorite Elin Hilderbrand books to date! I loved the woven bit of mystery, the flow kept me entertained, and all of the characters were likable. I had the chance to listen to this on audio book and it was fantastic. I found myself yearning to "get back to the characters" any free moment I could spare.

I flew through this book. It included the ghost of Grace, a chambermaid killed in a fire at the hotel back in 1922 but the details surrounding the death were a mystery - hence why she's "haunting" the hotel. At first, I thought this was a little hokey for Hilderbrand but it was tastefully throughout the book.

Lots of plot details and each character had their own storylines and were nicely wrapped up in the end. A solid 5 stars for anyone looking for a great women's fiction read (or listen)!

Thank you to NetGalley, the publisher, and the author for the opportunity to read this ARC.

Elin Hilderbrand has done it again. Not only did she make me want to buy and run on hotel on Nantucket, she made me love every single one of her characters---even the ones that I hated at first. I loved the playlists and can't wait for them to be released when the book releases. Not a fan of the paranormal, but this book is THE exception. Five stars and PLEASE someone take the description of the hotel and create this hotel--mirror ball, whipped cream, cashmere throws and all!

I wait all year long for Elin’s beach reads - it means summer is truly almost As always, there’s quite a cast of characters (and cameos from some old favorites - a mention of Fast Eddie Pancik on page 1 was truly chef's kiss!) - I’m a little more halfway through now and I don’t want it to end because I’ll have to wait another year for the next one! It releases June 14, so get it on your radar now.

FIVE BIG BEACH STARS!
Full reveal - I read the story first, but Erin Bennett's voice is completely engaging and quickly pulled me back into this magical tale.

Elin Hilderbrand is of course infamous for her beach tales set on the Island of Nantucket. It's awe inspiring that she continues to create unique story after story taking place on such a small short. This book, however, is one of the best.

In Hotel Nantucket we, as always, meet a great cast of characters dealing with secrets and problems of the heart - some big, some small. Best of all, the stories are set at a luxurious new hotel. My favorite sort of reads include a luxurious backdrop !

Our heroine, Lizbet, is recovering from a terrible breakup when she is chosen to become general manager of a hot new property that Richard Bran-type billionaire Xavier Darling has purchased. A bit over her head, she will use her local knowledge and dogged work ethic to ensure the that staff she has hired makes Xavier proud and earns the elusive high rating of the mystery hotel and restaurant instagram rater Shelly Carpenter.

Hilderbrand juggles a lot of characters including a hotel ghost, magnificently. There is plenty of drama but everything wraps up neatly at the end - as it is, of course, a beach read! #TheHotelNantucket #Netgalley #LittleBrownandCo

If you want to imagine yourself relaxing at a pristine beach or luxury hotel, if you are looking for some smart romance, if you are hoping for a novel that stars heroines that that are strong and fierce, then this book is for you!
Best of all, Elin includes her own best of the best recommendations in Nantucket at the end of the book in her signature voice. I can't wait to go! #Hachetteaudio #netgalley #hotelnantucket

I love Elin Hilderbrand, It's such a treat to read it this summer.
It gave me similar vibes to Golden Girl, Which is my second fave book of her.. My first favorite is 28 Summers.

What I loved:
-The story was through multiple points of view (similar to Golden Girl). You got to hear not only from the main characters but also secondary characters who had smaller parts in the story. Which i really enjoy!

Perfect light beach read! A little bit of everything; romance, mystery, crime and a happy ending. Loved that a ghost story was incorporated into the book.

Highly recommend! I listened to the audiobook and narrator was wonderful.

I received both the galley and the audio galley of this book and both were amazing. I really loved the narrator's voice and even though there are smaller storylines mixed into the larger one I did not find it hard to follow the audio version like I typically do.

I am an Elin groupie! I love her books and especially love to listen to them on audio. The Hotel Nantucket doesn't disappoint! It continues with the winning combination of a setting, cast, and plot that is extremely entertaining! If you too are an Elin groupie you will shriek when this book mentions Winter Street, the Blue Bistro and other beloved settings and characters from these books. All I can say is another home run from Elin! I loved this book as much as her others! Thanks to netgalley and the publisher for an advanced copy of the audio book.

I LOVED this book. For years I have heard about Elin Hilderbrand and I cannot understand how it took me so long to finally read a book by this talented author. THE HOTEL NANTUCKET is entertaining, heartfelt, humorous, inventive, and satisfying. The protagonist of Lisbet is going through a crisis and reinvents herself as the GM of a newly renovated hotel on the island she loves. Every character has so much history, secrets and obstacles they want to hide or overcome, and the summer season in a gorgeous hotel seems just the place to rewrite their stories.
The most unique part of the book is that one of the key characters is Grace, a ghost, who died in a fire on the property many decades before. Her omnipresence, need to be acknowledged, and ultimately her support for this new team reviving a once beautiful gem, is refreshing and charming.
LOVED listening to THE HOTEL NANTUCKET! Very high quality narration from Erin Bennett!!

It's hard for me to write a review of Elin Hilderbrand's books because I just want to make it short and sweet and say it's amazing. Her books all amazing. Every one.

This book though, this one gets 10 out of 5 stars (or 5 keys if you will!). An old hotel getting a redo and a new chance with a whole bunch of wonderful characters running it, all with their own good, bad, and ugly stories to tell. But you fall in love with all of them. Like all of her books, the descriptions of what people are eating has me hungry every time, I don't even know what some of these foods are but I want to eat them. Now. And the descriptions of the decor is perfection too. There's joy, love, pride, adultery, ghosts, heartbreak, happiness, child chess prodigies and their own little Nancy Drew, and so much more.

Perfect, perfect book to start off your summer. You have to read it, you'll plow through it and wonder where your day went!

(Thank you to NetGalley and Hachette Audio for a copy of this audiobook in exchange for my honest feedback)
