This book covers all elements of kindness, from people in history who are known for their kindness, such as Ghandi, to organizations or careers that help people in times of need, such as the red cross or nurses during war, to ways that you can be kind to others. With lots of biographical information as well as time lines and background information, this book really does seem to cover everything! The illustrations are interesting and support the text, which is written in an accessible font that is fairly easy to read. As a grade 3 teacher I often teach about kindness and generosity and it is a concept that can be a bit challenging for children to understand and reflect on. This book shows that kindness is a range of ideas that can be acted upon at any age. It also shows that the impact of kindness is huge, even when the act is something fairly small. I could definitely see this book in my classroom library and as a resource for my lessons on kindness. I would recommend this book for parents and teachers of children in the 6-12 range. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for giving me the opportunity to read and review this book.

I absolutely love this book! The author starts with examples from his own life, then looks at the history of kindness through archeology and ancient texts including different versions of the golden rule from around the world before moving on to more modern examples. This book includes examples both large and small from around the world. It discusses the importance of kindness and give suggestions that are easy for kids to act on. The illustrations complement the text beautifully! I hope this book finds its way into the hands of many children, teachers and parents. Thank you to NetGalley for an advanced copy in return for an honest review.

Human Kindness explores the history of kindness, how it was shown through the ages, and examples of kindness throughout the world. This was such a "warm and fuzzy" book that gives me faith in humanity. I liked the illustrations that aided the stories.
