When a hungry, fuzzy brown bear and a hive of angry bees come face to face, everybody's abuzz! Award-winning author Daniel Bernstrom and critically acclaimed illustrator Brandon James Scott have created a rowdy, rhythmic read-aloud that's also perfect for beginning readers. This epic chase story features Bernstrom's signature alliterative wordplay and verbal pizzazz, along with Scott's expressive characters that jump off the pages. A Bear, a Bee, and a Honey Tree has the kind of high-energy, uninhibited playfulness that makes kids want to run, chase, find out something about bear and bee behavior—and learn to read!

A Bear, a Bee, and a Honey Tree is one that I will definitely look forward to having a physical copy of! The story was simple, but comical for both myself and my child. The vocabulary was such that an early reader could work on finding words that they know, and then using the context of the book for other words. The hungry bear just wants to find some honey, but Bee and his hive do their best to stop him! We loved the part when the bear is hiding from the bee, as well as the ending when they meet again. Sweet and fun!

I loved this story! The illustrations are beautiful and the simple, rhyming text draws you right in. The expressions on the bear’s and bee’s faces throughout the story are so adorable and added a sense of humour to the storyline. The whole thing is just so cute. I can’t wait to have this in store so I can show everyone! A new Staff Pick for sure.

A Bear, a Bee, and a Honey Tree will soon be a Kinder Read Aloud favorite in my Elementary Library!
This simple rhyming book with lush illustrations is sure to capture the attention of the littlest library visitors. A hungry bee finds a hive in a tree and the honey bee (and soon his entire colony) is NOT happy!
Each page has minimal words giving way to beautiful and captivating illustrations.
Daniel Bernstrom's One Day in the Eucalyptus, Eucalyptus Tree is a favorite among our Kinders, and I'll be thrilled to add another Bernstrom book to the line up!

This book is so much fun! I teach elementary age students with autism and decided to use this story as a read aloud. My students giggled over the bear, especially when the bear's eyes change with the realization that there are so many angry bees inside the bee hive. This was so much fun to read aloud and this is the kind of joy that helps create lifetime readers!

What a delight! This would be such a fun early reader book because the text repeats so much. The illustrations are lovely and I love the last page with the hungry bear. My kiddos loved this!
