Description
From the makers of The Elf on the Shelf:
Oh, no! Someone touched The Elf on the Shelf.
Everyone knows Christmas magic is fragile in the human world, far away from Santa's North Pole. When one of his Scout Elves is touched by a human, that magic gets zapped. It's an elftastrophe!
In this humorous picture book, narrated by one of Santa's clever Scout Elves, discover the secrets to use when mishaps, misfortunes, and mistakes threaten your Scout Elf. You can save the day—and Christmas too!

A Note From the Publisher
For children and families who love The Elf on the Shelf, join one of Santa’s clever Scout Elves as he hilariously narrates how to help your elf recover from “a troubling elftastrophe of disastrous proportions”—Someone touched the elf!
Children know that one of the rules of The Elf on the Shelf is that humans cannot touch them. In fact, Scout Elves can lose their Christmas magic if they are touched! This book reveals three keys to restoring a Scout Elf’s magic in the event of a mishap.
For families who are interested in The Elf on the Shelf tradition but have not yet adopted an elf, the book introduces the tradition with lighthearted humor, showcasing the elf in various day-to-day situations at home and at school.
For teachers and librarians, the book engages young readers with a lively voice from a first-person Scout Elf narrator, clever wordplay, and a conflict that builds to a satisfying resolution. The book can serve as a mentor text for creating first-person point of view stories.
For the 2022 Christmas season, this book is exclusively available at Target nationwide.

I don't do Elf on a Shelf, but I know so many people who do and this book is a great addition to the activities. It was cute and funny and I would read this to kids in my classroom just as a fun Christmas-y book before winter break. There are parts that require audience participation which is wonderful. Interactive read alouds are always a win. Thank you #netgalley for giving me a copy of this book.

This book was absolutely fabulous. This is a very cute book to give to friends with children or even for your own children. It shows all the things that happen if you touch the elf on the shelf. This would be the best book to give children when the "elf on the shelf" returns for the holiday season!

Adorable!! Loved the illustrations, the quick and fun content to keep the littles engaged and especially loved the suggestion to write an apology, what a wonderful teachable moment and skill set.

What a great addition to Elf on the Shelf! I know many children will enjoy this during the holidays. Thank you for the opportunity to read and review!

This is a great companion to The Elf on the Shelf. Accidents do happen and people touch the elf. I love that this book gives steps of what to do if someone accidentally touches your elf.

5 stars indeed!
I absolutely love this book, and kids up to about ten years old are going to love it too. Not to mention
the teachers and the parents, they'll find it almost as much fun as the children will. So here's the secret
that's going to make Elftastrophe into all time favorite holiday (or anytime of the year) read. It's
simple really, all you have to do is turn into an interactive story. The first step is when the book says
"Don't Touch That Elf" which is said repeatedly, while telling you to say it louder and louder, that's when the kids jump into action, as you encourage them to do exactly as the book says. The next thing will be
"jazz hands," yep, this is where you teach the kids to do "jazz hands," if your not familiar look it up on google. When it says "an IV of hot cocoa STAT" that's when you pour your pre-made hot chocolate, the children will love the treat, especially if it's winter and cold outside. Oh, and by the by, cinnamon goes quite well with cocoa. When it says to "sprinkle a touch of cinnamon near your elf" have some on hand to pass among the kids to smell. Okay, I think you get the gist and can figure the rest out on your own. So, now that the secrets revealed, go find a bunch of kids and start reading already!

I read this book with my six year old, and we both loved it! My daughter loved interacting with the story and giggled at the elf’s antics. The illustrations were adorable. We will definitely be buying our own copy of this book once it is released!

My girls LOVED this! They love when their elf comes every year and to read this story had them smiling and laughing. I will defintely be buying a hard copy for us to enjoy over and over again!
Thank you Netgalley and the publisher for my ARC in exchange for my review!

IN CASE OF ELFTASTROPHE is a fun read, and would be a great companion to the ELF ON THE SHELF because, let's face it, elftastrophes happen! And we wouldn't really want that to be the end of our scout elf's magic, right? This book would not only bring relief to anyone concerned about how to restore their scout elf's magic, but it's also engaging, fun to read aloud, funny, and interactive (just don't fall for the high-five, okay?). The elf narrator has a fun, zippy personality that is perfect for a Christmas elf. I would recommend this book to anyone who enjoys the Elf on the Shelf tradition in their home or classroom, especially if their kids are the touchy-grabby sort.

Super cute children’s Christmas book! Perfect story for any adult who accidentally touches the elf in front of their children. Easy steps for the children to follow to get their elf back!

Oh my gosh! If this wasn't the cutest story I don't know what is! This is a great book for children if someone has accidentally touched their elf on the shelf! It is funny, and reassuring that everything will be ok! There are three remedies to make sure your elf won't lose his magic! Seriously, this is a great one! Go read it!
