EJ always thought she had plenty of time to move back to her small Wyoming hometown and join forces with her dad in his law practice...until she didn't. As if the grief of losing him wasn't enough, the firm, which they're counting on to support her mother, is struggling. Losing their flagship client, Dylan, who is renovating and developing property in town, would be a blow. When EJ makes a temporary return to try to salvage the situation, she winds up finding a lot more than she bargained for.

This was a sweet, simple small-town romance, The chemistry between EJ and Dylan is introduced quickly, but they're both pretty level-headed about the realities of their situation. It's definitely not a closed-door romance, but not as open as some others I've read--door ajar, maybe??? They're both nice, kind people trying to do their best in the situation they're in, so it's easy to cheer for their happiness. I would have liked their resolution to have been more of a meeting in the middle, but it wasn't unsatisfying. Pick this up for a pleasant, low-angst, happy read!

Many thanks to the publisher and NetGalley for the opportunity to read and review!

Can she fulfill a promise to her father and return to Wylder or is her life in San Francisco? EJ is heartbroken when she hears of her father’s sudden death. Gone is her dream of practicing law with him. She’s called back home to Wylder to help stabilize her father’s practice or determine if the best course of action is to sell. On her first day back, she meets with an illustrious client of her father’s practice, Dylan. He’s demanding, very rich, and attractive. He wants her to run his portfolio, or he walks. She tempers the waters of discourse with a caveat. She’s not staying. But there’s something calling her, beckoning her, to stay in Wylder. Is it Dylan or is it her own heart? She’s not sure but when emotions cloud her judgment, she’ll have to decide what she wants most.

Return to Wylder is a contemporary western romance I couldn’t stop reading. In the vein of the old adage about never coming home again, this book shows you can return home and find love, too. Recently, I’ve become a huge western romance reader and I love reading this series because it introduces me to a wide variety of authors. From the moment I started reading, I connected with EJ right away. She’s a woman torn between two cities, two dreams, and her wants versus her needs. The chemistry she has with Dylan is electrifying and oh so irresistible. The tension between these two is thick but such fun to read. I loved seeing Wylder in a modern setting. Maria Imbalzano is an established romance writer who writes unforgettable characters who fall in love. I can’t get enough of Maria’s stories and Return to Wylder is her finest written book to date. If western romance is your reading jam, pick up Return to Wylder. If you’re looking for an angsty yet enjoyable romance, you’ll want to read Return to Wylder. Highly recommend!

Return To Wylder is a sweet romance set in the splendid Wyoming decor, a perfect romantic setting for a love story. It is told in the first person, which I found helped get into the characters' head.

Should you follow your heart or live your life according to people's expectations? Can you really move on if you stay in the place where you experienced pain and loss or is going back the only way to heal?
Lawyer EJ and businessman Dylan both have to deal with these issues when they meet in the small village of Wylder. Not only that but time is against them. EJ only has two weeks to help Dylan achieve his goal of transforming the local hotel into a favoured tourist destination.
Will they be brave enough to accept this whirlwind affair could be the real thing?

Thanks to the author for suggesting I read her book. It was my first introduction to western romance and I will definitely pick up more in the future.
