Richard Fassam-Wright worked for 38 years in senior positions in the European Union and the United Nations where he specialised in foreign, security and humanitarian policy issues. He has a longstanding interest in Russia, its people, its history and its culture. He spent five years studying and working in Moscow in both Soviet and post-Soviet times. Set in Russia in the 1970’s, A Moscow Awakening is his first novel. He now lives in London.
