When Lili meets Ben by chance one hot summer’s day, it feels like fate. But life is about to take them in different directions, and so they agree to meet next July, in the beautiful hidden garden where they first laid eyes on each other. But one of them never shows up…

Five years later, Ben still wonders how he got things so wrong – he let the love of his life slip between his fingers. And then a stranger, Alice, arrives in his tiny Scottish hometown. Alice has no memory of how she got there: she can’t remember anything before that morning. The only clue to her past is the silver bee necklace she wears – the very same one Ben bought for Lili that magical summer’s day…

As Ben, Lili and Alice’s stories converge, so begins a beautiful and deeply emotional story of love, forgiveness and second chances. Perfect for fans of Colleen Hoover and Lucy Score.

I enjoy reading novels about the different forms of amnesia and especially disassociative amnesia. I learned more from this novel, Lili has lost memory of her entire past and is found alone and lost in Scotland by Ben. When and if Lili suddently regains memory of her past and who she really is, it's possible that the entire interlude when she was an amnesiac in Scotland with Ben will be erased from her memory.

Amnesia has become a trope in some romance novels, as in this is one, with an added twist.

I only wished that the story of Lili's past, which we find out in bits and pieces in many chapters, had been .shortened. We got the idea of what might have caused the amnesia, but the painful story of her past dragged on too long, and took away from the enjoyment of the romantic theme of the novel.

My rating is 3.5, but would have been more of a solid 4 if parts of the novel had been shortened.

After reading this I hope to read other books written by this author. I think the author wrote this well, and the characters had been developed nicely. The plot is somewhat predictable. I would recommend this for my fellow romance readers. This is a by chance romance that does take you through an emotional ride. I think that if you have been a COHO fan, you would enjoy this as well.
Thank you to NetGalley and the publishers for the advanced copy of this book in exchange for a review.

"Never Forget You" by Fiona Lucas promised a second chance love story and I went into it pretty blind the the heaviness that it contained. Fiona Lucas did a great job of prepping the reader for the emotional content with her warning and so I knew it would cover some intense scenarios. I was able to guess the plot pretty quickly but lets be honest if it hadn't turned out that way it would have been a disappointment. Even guessing the plot ahead of time didn't ruin this book for me. It had a lot of heart and was beautifully written. The dual timelines were not confusing at all and added to the books appeal. This is the first novel I have read by Fiona Lucas but I will definitely be checking out the rest of her works. This novel is great for someone looking for a romantic book with a heavier emotional feel. This book does not shy away from raw emotions and difficult to read scenarios of abuse. If you are looking for just a happy go lucky 'chance meeting' romance this may not be the book for you but if you go in with an open mind I think you will love it.

Never forget you review:

This was a really unique story. The book starts as two characters Ben and Lili have a serendipitous meeting in a garden and find themselves spending a day together. Even though they only spend 24 hours or so together they realize they have something special. So they agree to meet in the same place one year later to see if what they have is really that special. The two never connect and the story moves on. Then the story picks up 5 years later with a woman who has no idea who she is or where she is. Ben stumbles upon her and decides to try to help her get to a hospital and to find some shelter as she struggles with trying to remember. Ben can’t help but think she seems so familiar to the woman Lili who has always been the one who got away. The book then moves forward between the past and present as we try to figure out who she is, how she got there, and could it be that he has found his Lili again and gets a second chance at love. I have so much more I’d like to say, but don’t want to risk giving anything away. A very interesting story with characters that will stay with me for a while. I received an ARC and this is my honest review.

Lili and Ben meet one day in a beautiful garden in the middle of London. (I was getting strong "Notting Hill" vibes!) It was the perfect encounter that led to a day of romance. It's insta-love at its finest, the type that really has you believing that two people can really be soulmates. Their lives are heading in separate directions, so they agree to meet at the very same garden, one year later, once they've sorted out their situations. Unfortunately, a mistake leads to a misunderstanding, and they never meet again.... Until five years later, when Lili shows up in his small town with amnesia. And she's wearing the necklace he bought her on the beautiful day they spent together!

This was my most challenging review yet, because it seems, based on the summary, that the author would prefer the reader to go in blind to the majority of the plot. I'm going to do my very best to give you a peek at the overall plot without spoiling anything. I went into this book expecting "Notting Hill", but getting "Sleeping With the Enemy". (Remember that 90s movie with Julia Roberts?) Ben and Lili absolutely have their romantic moments, which I really enjoyed, but when I reflect on this book, I'm more likely to remember what happened to Lili in the five years that transpired between their two meetings. Her life is NOT sunshine and roses. It's rife with emotional abuse. There's a very real reason that she disassociates from her own mind, and that takes over the narrative. It's not to say that's a bad thing, but suspense and angst drive the car, while romance is in the back seat.

I was fascinated by the way the author jumped through time, ratcheting up the intensity of what was happening. She also wrote half of the book in first person through Lili's perspective, and the other half in third person. It was a creative way to reinforce the disassociation Lili experiences during her amnesia. I definitely skimmed certain chapters, only to read them later, because I was on the edge of my seat in the other timeline.

This story was exciting, exhilarating, scary, romantic, and fun. (Not all at the same time.) This was not the ticket I was sold, but I was glad I'd gone along for this wild ride!

*Trigger warning: emotional abuse

I'd like to thank Harper 360, HQ, and Netgalley for the e-ARC of this book. All opinions presented are my own.

Thank you to NetGalley & author Fiona Lucas for the opportunity to read a copy of "Never Forget You".

This novel tells the story of Lili & Ben. It deals with past and present timelines, and make sure to search up trigger warnings, because there is a lot of intense emotions to be experienced while reading. It mostly deals with abuse and amnesia. It outlines 5 years of Lili's life.

Overall, I rated this novel 4/5 stars!

This BOOK!! Incredible - Fiona Lucas is one of my newfound favorite authors after reading both of her books. My only complaint was the FMC's parents - sorry but I had to say it

I am not a fan of instalove so the first few chapters of this book were really cringey for me. Once I got past that though, this was a very enjoyable read. The romance development for Alice and Ben was much more realistic than that of Lili and Ben.

The multiple POV / nonlinear timeline was very well executed. I thought I had it all figured it out then “the wedding” turned out to be not at all what I expected.

Justin made my blood boil more and more as the book went on. He is the kind of antagonist that you love to hate. The way the author wrote about emotional abuse and manipulation felt very tasteful and eerily realistic. It really provokes thought about how easy someone can find themselves in that kind of situation.

Holy hell. I did not expect to be so engrossed with this book. I will confess I was slightly confused at the beginning because I didn’t bother to read the description before I dived in but it only took me a hot second to get so enamored with Ben and Lili’s love story. The characters might not always make the best choice and you think “wtf did you do that for” but they are so well developed, relatable and that’s what makes you feel so connected to them that I can felt the most heartbreaking parts of this deep in my soul and I wanted to comfort both of them. This contemporary romance is nothing like one I’ve read before, it’s got dark twisty piece with a little mystery but with really lovely bright happy moments and in the end I was completely satisfied with how everything needed up. I would definitely recommend this book!

TW - without giving too much away this book deals with domestic abuse and how it can come about subtly. That being said dude (not Ben) was a real piece of work and I wanted to kick him in the nads.

An emotional read.

Lili and Ben meet by chance and spend one glorious day together. They agree to meet again in one year. Unfortunately only one of them shows up a year later.

I really enjoyed the amnesia part of the story and was all in to See if memory was recovered or not.

Both Lili and Ben were well written characters.

There were a few parts that were difficult to read.n trigger for abuse. Overall I really enjoyed the book and have purchased a few of the authors other books. Definitely selling this at the store.

I really liked Ben so a bit.

Highly recommended 4 stars
