This is the third book in the series and you really should read them all to keep up with the characters. Lots of suspense and plenty of bad guys but also a sweet Christian romance. i loved this book and the whole series.

What a fitting end to an exciting trilogy! It took me a minute to get reacquainted with all of the characters but once I did, I was all in! It was so fun to be with Annie and Jon again. The suspense had me as well and the romantic side of Jon was so fun to see!

Thanks so much to netgalley and the publisher. The opinions are my own.

A thrilling conclusion to a fantastic series! Full of heart pounding drama & suspense that will keep you riveted until the shocking end. Completely captivating to keep you turning pages long into the night.

Annie is still reeling from the betrayal of her sister, but when danger comes knocking once again, she realizes Sarah could be in danger. As Annie & Jon work with Mason to uncover the danger targeting their beloved town, they must look deep to cover secrets from the past.

This book did not disappoint and left me hoping Ms. Coble returns us to Rock Harbor one day to catch up with old friends. Her books are so masterfully written that I am always left anxiously awaiting the next book.

I was give a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. All opinions expressed completely my own.

:"Break of Day" was another exciting read by Colleen Coble! I don't think I've ever read a book by Colleen Coble that I haven't loved! This is part of a series and although there are characters from the other books, this one could still be read alone. This one follows Annie, Jon and their families and friends. The subject was different than any other book I've read, and there was a huge twist near the end! I highly recommend this book and all of Colleen Coble's books. You won't be disappointed!

I received this book from the publisher for my honest opinion.

This is the third in the outstanding Annie Pederson series. I read the first one in my Book Club and liked it so much that I have now read the other two. The author writes so well and describes the UP so well, you feel like you are in the forests or on the beach with the characters. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for granting my request for this book. I highly recommend it for anyone who likes romantic suspense, but I do recommend reading them in order as each book builds on the previous one.

Such a great third and final book in this trilogy. Loved the ending for the characters, as well as all the back stories. I was sad to see this series end. I Highly recommend the book, but would grasp it better if you read the first two proper to reading this one.
I am looking forward to what this author writes next.
I received an advance copy of this book in exchange for my honest review.

Finally!!! The amazing and fantastic conclusion to the Annie Pederson series. There are so many layers to this series and the characters are perfectly blended. Annie has been through so much and still refuses to compromise who she is or what she believes. As a LEO, she will not back down from what is right, personally, or professionally. The bad guys in this story are quite evil indeed. Twisted and cruel. Sarah goes missing and Annie follows the trail, which absolutely leads them into trouble. Kylie was absent for most of this book, which was fitting. I liked getting to focus a little more on Annie and Jon without Kylie’s own hurt in the midst of it. They have such a powerful story of second chances and are truly better together than apart. Rock Harbor always feels like a welcome home, so it is great to catch glimpses of old characters. While it was easier for me to figure out the culprit in this one, I think it was more about exposing the bigger picture and the master mind behind it. Welcome back to Michigan’s Upper Peninsula. You will not be disappointed!

What an amazing story! I have always loved Ms Coble’s books but this one is probably the best. There are so many twists and turns and a surprise “bad guy”. There’s romance along with the intrigue of the many story lines that fit right in with the main mystery. Ms Coble does a superb job of describing the Lake Superior area as well as making the characters real. This book drew me in and wouldn’t let go. I literally could not put it down! I can’t recommend this book and the series enough. My suggestion is to read the books in order to know the back story. Although it may be the last book in this series I am hoping it’s not. I received an arc of this book from NetGalley and the publisher. All opinions expressed are my own.

I have been a fan of Colleen Coble for a while now and that won’t be changing today! Break of Day was a perfect ending to this trilogy. There were so many twists and turns and even a few things that caught me totally off guard that left my jaw hanging!

Break of Day is the third book of the Annie Pederson series. To fully understand the characters I recommend you read the series in the order the books are written. At the beginning of this book Annie is estranged from her long lost sister Sarah. To understand why you need to read the previous books. Also other plot lines will be best understood if you read the previous books. I always jump at the chance to read a Colleen Coble novel. These books keep me up late at night wanting to finish and this one was did not disappoint. At one time toward the end I was wondering if characters I had grown attached to were going to get out alive. It was that suspenseful. Highly recommend for those who love romantic suspense novels and Coleen Coble.

Rock Harbor has become a place I enjoy getting back to each time I read one of the books in this series and this one was no exception. Everything tied together perfectly, all woven into a story of intrigue and healing. Colleen Coble has done it again. I highly recommend the whole series..

The last book in the Annie Pederson series was the most satisfying ending I could've ask for, the characters became more endearing with each book. Annie, Jon, Kylie and Sarah deserve an HEA. That doesn't mean getting there was without obstacles and at times you had to wonder who could they trust and would they survive. My favorite book of 2023!

What a way to end a trilogy. The characters are fleshed out and shown growth through-out the series. To fully appreciate the inter-connections the reader should take each book in sequence. You won't be disappointed. Thanks for a great read! Colleen Coble doesn't let you down!

Return to the beloved town of Rock Harbor in the final installment of the Annie Pederson trilogy -- I'm sad to see this series come to a conclusion but it's been really fun to read!

Annie's life is finally getting straightened out - she's found love again, found her sister again, and again there are missing girls in the UP wilderness. In between fighting her in-law's for her daughter's custody, getting engaged and being an LEO - she's got a lot going on, but it was all wrapped up nicely in this book. The hunting club is super creepy and disturbing, but certainly kept me reading. I've really enjoyed this series!

Thank you to NetGalley, the author and publisher for a temporary, digital ARC in return for my review.

This is a mystery, a romance, a real thriller and one that really gets your attention and holds it throughout the entire book. Colleen is a master story teller and weaves a tale that is amazing. It is a crime story with a twist of family dynamics, trust issues and dangerous plots. It will have you spellbound all the way to the end. I read this book during a very difficult time in my life and it helped me get through very hard days. When I read the authors notes I really connected. This is my introduction to Colleen Coble as an author but I assure you that I will make it a point to go back to her other books and look forward to her future ones.

I wish to thank NetGalley and Thomas Nelson Publishers for allowing me to read an advanced copy of this book. I have voluntarily read and reviewed it. All thoughts and opinions are my own.

Review of eBook

Although she remains estranged from her long-lost sister, Sarah, Annie Pederson is concerned for Sarah’s safety when she learns that Glenn Hussert has escaped. As a result, Sarah must move into a hiding place.

But as a Law Enforcement Officer for the Park Service, Annie continues to investigate the disappearance of hikers in Michigan’s remote Upper Peninsula woods. It’s an investigation destined to change everything for Annie.

As Annie becomes the hunted one, will the truth she’s discovered help solve the case?

=========

Third in the author’s Annie Pederson series [following “Edge of Dusk” and “Dark of Night”], “Break of Day” is the final book in the trilogy. Although part of a series, there is sufficient backstory for the narrative to work as a standalone. Filled with suspense, the unfolding narrative keeps readers on the edge of their seats as the tension builds.

There’s a strong sense of place in the telling of this tale; the characters are believable. There are, of course, secrets that cause upheaval when revealed, but readers will be kept guessing as the story plays out.

With all the expected characters in place, the narrative takes the reader back to Rock Harbor. But, as readers might well expect, getting to any kind of a happily ever after for any of the central characters will, in all probability, remain a particularly difficult feat.

With a hefty dose of forgiveness and reconciliation, readers will find much to appreciate in this final book as the story twists and turns as it heads toward a denouement that is sure to please readers.

Highly recommended.

Break of Day (Annie Peterson #3)- Colleen Coble
I want to start by thanking the author, publishing company, and NetGalley for allowing me to read this advanced copy of the book.
Special note to the author. Your books are beautifully written, and I love the detail you put into each character. I read the entire rock harbor series, and I loved it! I fell in love with each character and how relatable Bree is. I hope that there will be a continuation of that series. I’ve read a few books written by Colleen Coble. The detail Colleen goes into when writing is like no other I can vividly picture each scene. I’ve read a lot of books where there is a strong female police officer, the hero of the story. I would strongly recommend reading the rock harbor series before reading these books so you can get the full story of each character within these books.

Book Review-
This book is the third in the Annie Peterson Series and, sadly, the last. Annie is a park ranger in a small town in Michigan's upper peninsula. Annie has had several tragedies in her lifetime. Her sister Sarah was kidnapped as a child, and her husband and family were murdered. Annie never stopped looking for her sister every chance she got. Several years later, Her sister is found safe and has inserted herself back into her life through deceit. Annie is working on repairing her life after her husband passed away. Annie learns that her first love, Jon, is her daughter Kylie’s Father.

Annie’s world gets turned upside down when her sister Sarah kidnaps her daughter Kylie and then gets them both kidnapped by someone her sister believed she could trust.
This book focuses on the aftermath after Kylie and Sarah was found after the botched kidnapping. Things aren’t all they seem. Annie desperately tries to uncover the truth of their abduction. There was a recent string of murders among hikers in the UP. As Annie gets closer to discovering who the killers are, she and Sarah get kidnapped.

Overall I think this book was well-developed; the storyline was very captivating. There are a lot of details within this book. I’m
Sad, this is the final book in the series; however, I think the ending was perfect.

Break of Day was an amazing conclusion of Colleen Coble's latest series. I loved every single book in the Annie Pederson series plus the setting is close to home for me so that made it even more enjoyable. Even though it was a great conclusion to Annie and Jon's story I wouldn't mind seeing more of them in the future.

Thank you Netgalley for the opportunity to read and review. All opinions are my own.

Action packed, this story will keep the reader turning pages with its high levels of suspense and danger. This was a really good continuation of Annie, Kylie, and Jon’s story. Wow. Honestly, the level of suspense in this one was strong. The depth of evil in the villains of this story was shocking. But, the level of Annie’s persistence and continued faith shone far stronger than the threats she and her family face. The reader might lose some sleep over this one, because it is hard to put it down! Some big issues were tackled in this book, too, in addition to the suspense plot. Forgiveness, love, truth revealed, and false relationships really bring the reader to a place of thoughtfulness and introspection. Add in some romance and some long awaited happiness, and this is a well written book a variety of readers will enjoy.

I requested and received a copy of this book for review. The words and thoughts expressed here are wholly my own.

This a great finale to a great series. The tension is ongoing between the characters, but there is a light at the end of the tunnel. This novel could stand alone, but if you've read the series you will enjoy it more. The action has some surprises to it that keeps the reader engages.

What a great finish to the Annie Pederson trilogy! While it could be read as a stand alone, it’s much better read after the first two books in the series. There are plenty of questions in this complex mystery, unexpected twists, family drama, nail-biting suspense, faith, forgiveness, and love. I was definitely hooked and couldn’t put it down! I loved the characters and hope there is a return to Rock Harbor in future books!

What a ride for wrapping up the Annie Pederson trilogy! There were so many stories to wrap up and they were done in such a manner as to keep me hooked. There was family drama, romance, faith, friendship, forgiveness, suspense, and all the feels of an emotional roller coaster. Although many people say this can be read as a stand alone book, I found the continuity of the story is easier to connect having read the first two books in the series. I love the stories set in Rock Harbor, MI, the people we have come to know, and I hope we have the opportunity to return in a new book or series.

Thanks to the author, publisher and NetGalley for the ARC of this book in exchange for my honest opinion.
It is important that you read this series in order, this is the third and concluding novel.
I found the novel to be exciting as the main characters continue to search for the mystery of the disappearing hikers. This was a quick paced novel, with flawed characters seeking God in handling fear, anxiety and forgiveness. I recommend this book for those who like a little romance and mystery in an inspirational novel.

This is the third book in this series, and each book builds on the others, but this could be read alone, the author does a great job of bringing you up to date.

I will warn you that the last quarter of this read is very intense, wow, you are really going to wonder whom is going to survive!

I wanted answers, and they do come, and a lot of surprises you might not see coming!

I could just picture the area, Michigan's Upper Peninsula, the lakes and mountains, such beauty and yet evil is lurking, and you will be holding your breath, and almost afraid to turn the page. I am so glad to get answers, but hate leaving friends, but now I am looking forward to the next Colleen Coble book!

Annie is a Law Enforcement Ranger based on Tremolo island. She's engaged to John, the love of her life that's been gone for many years. Now they have a second chance. A special chance, especially since they found out that her daughter Kylie is actually his daughter as well. Annie is fierce in her love and strong in her conviction. She'll do anything it takes to keep her family together and keep them protected. But there are other forces at work and soon she's going to find out just how costly that could be.
This was a great book, full of suspense and twists. And I really liked the development of the characters. I've read a number of books by this author before and I’ve always been pleased with her writing style. This one doesn't disappoint!

Break of Day wraps up the captivating Annie Pederson series in a big way. The suspenseful, multi-layered plot, with a memorable Lake Superior setting, drew me in from the beginning and held me fast to the satisfying end. The characters are diverse and realistic. I love the way Annie and Jon’s second chance romance develops amidst difficult and even dangerous circumstances. I appreciate the inspiring spiritual truths of forgiveness and trust woven into the story. I thoroughly enjoyed this book and highly recommend it and the series. I also recommend reading the books in this series in order for the best reading experience.

I truly recommend it to all romantic suspense lovers who love happily ever afters and a message of hope.

Break of Day, by Colleen Coble, is the third book in the Annie Pederson. While this is part of a series that should be read in order, the story does give background information for a good stand alone story as well. It is well written and filled with suspense. This is a story of rebuilding broken relationships. The main characters are great people who work together to keep Annie safe.

I’ve enjoyed reading this series and this story was a great addition. It was nice to see how close Annie and Jon have gotten. And how supportive his father is. It is easy to see how Annie’s daughter and late husband’s parents feel about the situation. When put in danger, Annie and her sister work together to survive.

I voluntarily received a copy of this book, this is my honest review.

Break of Day

We return to Rock Harbor in the upper peninsula of Michigan for the 3rd book in the Annie Pederson series. She is working with the police patrolling the lake when she decides to stop in on Tremolo Island to visit with Anu, who’d had ovarian cancer surgery. Lunch was about ready and Max insisted on her joining them while they visited. Annie wasn’t fond of the island. It was there that she lost her sister Sarah when she was 3 years old. The mystery had yet to be solved but she had come back 20 plus years later. Annie was still at odds with her after Sarah had taken her niece, Kylie and held her captive.
While dining, Annie received a call from her boss, Mason. He needed her to visit a small island close to Tremolo to look for a missing teen who had left her campsite that day to paddle out to visit this mysterious isle. Despite her knowledge of the canoe - it seemed to have its own mind that day. The lake was rough with wild waves splashing into the boat leaving water around her and Scout, her dog. Upon her arrival she managed to get out and regain her feet on land. It wasn’t long however that 2 masked men grabbed her and threw her onboard their large boat, powering off.
Break of Day will be published by Thomas Nelson of HarperCollins Christian Publishing on July 4, 2023. I appreciate their allowing me to read and review Coble’s latest novel via NetGalley. Her series are always exciting and delightful to read. She has a superb sense of adventure in her writing. Her characters keep the reader advised from book to book regarding the families in her plots. Each new novel is full of suspense and peril. Her fans are anxiously awaiting this new publication. Do Enjoy!

Such an amazing character driven story with LEO Annie Pederson who is still dealing with the aftermath and consequences of her sister Sarah’s return. Also, Annie and Jon are worried about the notification that must be made to their daughter’s grandparents. When a man escapes from prison, there is fear for Sarah’s safety and she relocates to one of the islands. While searching for the missing criminal, Annie slowly learns who may have helped him escape. Annie leaves for the island when she realizes that is where the men could be hiding. Sarah has been found by the men and must run for her life. The true horror of what is taking place on the island and who is involved will shock Annie, but she won’t give up…she is fighting for her life, for Sarah’s life and for the life she has planned with Jon and their daughter. I received an advance review copy at no cost and without obligation for an honest review. (paytonpuppy)

Annie is relieved that her sister and Michelle have been rescued from their kidnappers, but now she has to both keep them safe from future threats and find out who was responsible for their ordeal. But in saving them both, she's put herself in the crosshairs of the mysterious kidnapper - who is probably also responsible for her many missing person cases. She still struggles with Sarah's betrayal of her, but she can't abandon her sister - and when things go wrong, she begins to fear she's left reconciliation too late. Who is the man behind all their troubles? And can she keep them all safe from their deadly enemy, or are her life with Jon and her relationship with Sarah doomed before they've truly begun?

A great end to the series, this story combines the ups and downs of Annie's somewhat troubled road to romance with a background of mystery that has periods of great suspense. The idea of capturing people and dragging them off into the wilderness to be hunted is horrible, so it was great to see the culprits finally get their comeuppance - none too soon. Better still, it was lovely to see Annie finally able to settle down to enjoy her new life with Jon and Kylie. This series is best read together and in order, because the underlying mystery continues over the three books, as does Annie and Jon's romance. The book does a good job of providing the background if you haven't read the previous books or haven't read them recently, but it's probably still best read as a series. The very satisfying ending to both aspects is worth it! Recommended.

I enjoyed the thrilling conclusion to this series. When Annie hears Glenn escaped from the hospital with the aid of two men, she is concerned about her sister Sarah's safety, but is not ready to trust her. Annie finds a safe place for her and start looking for the men who took Glenn. When Annie discovers Sarah is missing, she and Jon go searching for her with Jon at her side. Now Annie is being hunted. I received a free copy of this ebook from the publisher through Netgalley. This is my honest and voluntarily given review. There are so many things I love about this series. I love how in this book Jon becomes a true partner to Annie. I also love seeing the change in Sarah's and Annie's relationship as they work through remorse and forgiveness. There is mystery, suspense, love, romance, faith, and a very suspenseful ending.

** “I’m not living my life in fear. When it’s my time, nothing I do will change what God has set in his Book of Life. How many times does the Bible say, ‘Fear not’? Enough times that we know God doesn’t want us to cower in our homes. … I want to model courage, not cowardice.” **

Colleen Coble wraps up her incredible Annie Pederson series with “Break of Day,” a story of second chances and the power of love.

Picking up immediately after the series’ second installment, Annie is searching for Glenn Hussert, the man who has escaped from the hospital and is wanted for kidnapping two women, including her sister Sarah.

But when more women go missing, including Sarah again, Annie is more deeply drawn into the hideous case. With the help of her boyfriend Jon, the newly realized father of her daughter Kylie, they work to find Sarah and to determine who is behind these horrific events.

Coble yet again does a great job of developing a heart-pounding plot filled with twists and turns, as well as characters that are flawed and relatable. She also fills “Break of Day” with several great themes, like don’t live in fear; we need to trust in God when we are worried; finding compassion and forgiveness, especially for those who have hurt you; and there is always room for more love in our lives.

“Break of Day” should definitely not be read as a standalone, as the story will be hard to follow without reading the first two: “Edge of Dusk” and “Dark of Night.” Fans of authors like Irene Hannon, Terri Blockstock and Lynette Eason will love this story.

Five stars out of five.

Break of Day by Colleen Coble is the final installment of the Annie Pederson series. I am a longtime fan of this author and have been for some time. What sets her writing apart from others is the consistent quality of her novels. They never cease to amaze me in the variety yet high quality of romantic suspense. This final Annie Pederson novel was one of my favorite books yet. The conclusion to this series was high stakes and never let me go. I read it in one day because I literally could not put it down. Annie's world is more complicated than ever and all that she loves is at risk. This is truly an amazing thriller. I highly recommend it. I received a digital copy of this book from the publisher with no obligations. These opinions are entirely my own.

Good series. I think they each were better than the previous one. Creepy mystery, but exciting, page-turning adventure. Not necessary to read the other two prior to this one as it does stand alone quite well. Thanks to the publisher for providing a copy via NetGalley. My review is voluntary.

Once again there is a mystery to be solved in Rock Harbor. This installment in the series starts right where the previous book left off (Dark of Night), so, it definitely helps to read books 1 and 2 first. However, the author gives you enough background to understand the character dynamics, which are very important to this story. This was another fabulous, fast-paced, tightly plotted thriller with twists and turns.

Annie Pederson has had a lot of tragedy in her life, but it seems as though she can finally be happy with the direction of her life. Jon Dunston (the biological father of her daughter) is back in her life, and their romance is building day by day. Jon is breaking through the barriers with Kylie (their daughter). Unfortunately there newfound joyful life is about to be disrupted once again when a prisoner, who poses a threat to Annie, has escaped. Hikers are also still disappearing at an alarming rate and no one seems to know what is going on.

This is a suspense-filled mystery which ties up this series with a nice, neat bow. You will get a lot of answers to things we learned in previous books. Colleen Coble is an ultra talented author who knows how to make her characters come alive. Annie Pederson is one of my favorite fictional characters. She has been dealt a raw deal with some of the things that have happened in her life, but she is tenacious and leans on her faith to get through the hard times. She is a strong female character who will entertain you as she outwits those who mean to do harm. She is also fearless and is a natural born protector. This book is teeming with rich characters and heart-stirring tension that rises with each turn of the page. You will be biting your nails by the end.

You will be burning the midnight oil to finish this one. I highly recommend that you that start at book #1 and move forward. You will not be disappointed.

Thank you to Thomas Nelson Fiction and NetGalley for this ARC. I am leaving this review voluntarily.

Break of Day is the final book in the Annie Pederson series and is a great ending, solving some mysteries and tying up loose ends. This has been a nice visit back to Rock Harbor seeing old friends and meeting new ones. LEO Ranger Annie Pederson has been working with the sheriff to solve murders and cases of missing tourists in the wilderness of the area that appear to the work of a group. When Annie is the target of these people, things get tense just as she and Jon are working on their future. This story is suspenseful with danger and action that kept me on the edge of my seat near the end. Yikes! It is also a story of forgiveness, healing, love, and sweet new beginnings. Highly recommended. It is best to read the series in order as it builds on each other.

A fantastic ending in this series! I have loved all the books and characters. I really think you need to read all 3 books because you have to get a sense of the mystery & suspense that is unfolding, and you won't get that without reading all the books. Plus, you won't get the progression of the characters, their relationships and who is who! There are quite a few characters to keep track of! I enjoyed the way everything was wrapped up but it was quite a ride! There is a lot of suspense and the reader doesn't quite know how it'll turn out. Annie, is a law enforcement officer who has gone through a lot of tragedy in the previous two books. It's almost time for her to finally have her HEA with Jon but the cases she's been working on are coming to a head and since they involve her personal life, she is in danger, along with her sister. When they both have a target on their backs, it looks like they may have to fight for their lives. When the truth comes out about who is behind all of this, Annie will be rocked to the core. I love the closeknit family members and friends in the town. I will miss them now that the series is over!

Loved it!!! I would give the book 4.5 stars. The perfect ending to the Annie Pederson Series. With each book, the series got better and better. Sarah finally regrets all her terrible actions and realizes she wants to be part of Annie's life. Honestly, who could blame Sarah for what she did. Kidnapping is never the way to go, especially when it's your niece. Shouldn't Sarah have had intensive therapy for what she went through? She was kidnapped as a child, wouldn't the police or FBI be involved since she was also a missing child? I completely change my mind about her. There were so many twists and turns throughout the book. I never suspected who was behind all the "huntings." This person would have never been on my list as a possible murder suspect. It wasn't until he/she talked about Scout being reunited with his owner that I knew this person was a liar and shouldn't be trusted. If I ever got lost in the forest, I would want Annie with me. She's amazing and knows how to survive when grown men are hunting her down. Jon and Annie have a great relationship and I love the way they are together.

Definitely recommend the book. It was a great mystery/thriller. I love how the book focuses on Annie and Jon's relationship but also contains a mystery that needs to be solved. I'm sad that Jon and Annie's story is over but I can't wait for another series. Rock Harbor sounds like a beautiful place to live, despite so many people being killed or abducted. Look forward to reading more books by the author. Loved the cover of the book.

SPECTACULAR ROMANTIC SUSPENSE!

Best-selling author Colleen Coble has just released Book 3 of her Annie Pederson Novel Series, and, in my opinion, Break of Day is the cream of the crop! These books may be read as stand-alone, but to truly understand the deeper meanings of the characters' complicated relationships, they should be read in sequential order. Coble delivers spectacular romantic suspense that will keep readers blazing thru the pages. She tackles issues such as family drama, child abduction (past and present), estrangement, lost and found love, and a killer on the loose. Add all of these elements together and it adds up to a spectacular romantic suspense!

I was provided a complimentary copy of this book by Thomas Nelson and NetGalley. The opinions expressed here are entirely my own and without influence.

Break of Day is the third and concluding book in Colleen Coble’s Annie Pederson trilogy. These stories follow the activities occurring in the Upper Peninsula town of Rock Harbor along the banks of Lake Superior, which plays an ominous role in the telling of the tale.
This book begins where the second book in the series, Dark of Night, leaves off. Annie Pederson is a law enforcement ranger in Rock Harbor, MI, as well as the owner operator of the Tremelo Marina and Cabin resort which she inherited after the boating explosion that killed her parents as well as her husband Nate. Dr. Jon Dunstan has reappeared in Annie’s life as he has returned to Rock Harbor to help his father. Seeing Jon again, her teenage love, has thrown Annie off her game and her daughter Kylie has developed an instant dislike of Jon until his overtures to help Kylie as she must learn to live with the dietary constraints of a person with celiac disease, an inherited disease he also deals with, draw her in. But the bridge began to be formed when Jon saves Kylie at the end of the second installment of the trilogy at great peril to himself.
In the final installment, the plot line picks back up with the crime thread established in book 1 of the disappearance of many lone campers to the wilderness area. The reports of a very few survivors tells of a group of men that kidnapped them, then made them run for their lives in a human hunt, referring to the terrified people as their quarry. It would appear their are serial killers in their midst! With new victims and the kidnapping of Annie’s sister, Annie becomes embroiled in the fight of her life.
And this is the spark of the story to come! Yet another well woven thriller series written in Ms. Coble’s crisp and steady style. Characters with depth and a mystery that will leave the reader hanging, but never wanting, until the very end. I very much enjoyed this book and I do recommend it!

"Break of Day" is a Christian romantic suspense novel. It's the third book in a series, and it's a direct continuation of the previous novels, so it's best to read them in order. There were a number of threads to the story, both relationship tensions (with Annie's sister, her daughter and Jon, etc.) and the continuing investigation into women going missing and later found murdered.

Annie investigated the ongoing murders. She asked good questions, and Jon helped her on occasion. The suspense came from the danger to Annie, Sarah, Jon, and others. Annie was awesome at the end. The main characters were engaging, complex, and reacted realistically to events. They found healing as they spent more time together. Sarah learned more about God's forgiveness. There was no sex or bad language. Overall, I'd recommend this exciting novel.

Wow! Break of Day has it all--mystery, suspense, action, faith, romance, and a little creepiness. Those villains, oh, my! I had not read the first two books in the series and was a little lost to start with, so my advice is to read the first two in the Annie Pederson series before starting this one. I enjoyed it without having done so, but I think I would have liked it even better if I had. Jon, Annie, and Kylie are great characters. The plot has those twists and turns that are so essential to good suspense. This is one of those books that would have been super hard to put down, so I didn't even try!
I highly recommend this book and definitely want to read more from author Colleen Coble.

Such a well written book that kept me involved. Starting with Annie and her daughter Kylie, and Annie's past love with Jon. Even Nate, Annie's late husband and Jon's best friend brings an other level to the story. Annie's long-lost sister Sarah is one messed up woman but who wouldn't be with what she suffered through. The emotions that they are going through in the family is easy to understand.
The world building is rich and well fleshed out as is the mysteries that have been afflicting their town. The people in this town for the most part were really good. It was enjoyable witnessing the tightness of many of the people. Anu was one of the best; she was kind, loving even while fighting her battle against cancer.
When the villains of the piece were revealed it was a stunner as was how they hunted Annie and her family. It'll keep you on your toes for sure. The leader of the group was also a big stunner. He feared Annie because he knew how skilled she was at finding the truth and fighting back. And what a great leader she was at bringing the fight to those after them.
I liked how faith in God and his love and protection was included in the story.
A good ending follows although the way it is written it feels more like new beginnings.

Nailbiting suspense galore!!
I am at a loss for words to even try and describe the suspence and drama in this book!! At times I didn't want to read because I didn't want the book to end! Jon and Annie together with her long lost sister, Sarah is in a fight for their lives against evil as you can get evil! Brilliantly written! The roller-coaster ride from hope to despair is just so intense that it won't let you go! Any always always their is hope and victory in God!

I cannot wait to see what the future holds for Sarah. (Wink, wink)

This was such a good read that worked hard to bring together all the divergent plots from across the three books. It had a section that felt very like the Hunger Games in a way that made me Love Annie, the heroine. She was so strong, yet there were moments where her softness and questions would crack through. So much was happening throughout the book that it felt a bit breakneck, yet every bit of action pulled through to a clue or thread that point Annie and Jon in the right direction. And the faith element was a clear, integral part of this story. Really enjoyed returning to Rock Harbor for this romantic suspense novel. Richly layered and engaging from beginning to end.

I loved this final book in the trilogy. There are many tense moments to come and the plot has some surprises. I love the complex characters

What an amazing conclusion to this series! Return to Rock Harbor for answers Annie and Jon need to find before they can try happily ever after. This story is powered by heart-pounding adrenaline that keeps the pages flipping to find out what happens next and if the bad guy ever gets caught. There are just enough action breaks to catch your breath for the next step. But these breaks are never boring, the characters continue to develop and grow. The lessons they learn and questions they have to work through leap off the pages into the real world. The reader is made a part of their journey, like a close friend being told a great story. Their dependence on God and His plan for each of us naturally unfolds to show the reader that the same is true in their lives.
This thrilling end to the story is action from start to finish. There were times I really couldn't read fast enough, wanting to find out what was coming next. With Annie trying to find a way to get her relationships on track and keep her investigation moving forward, Sarah and Jon will need to help. A couple really late nights was all it took to get through this action packed book. Colleen Coble is so amazing at lifting the suspense to the very edge before stringing in a break to catch your breath before it starts all over again. She controls the adrenaline rush to perfection, building to a wonderful finale. I also love how the major questions are answered but Colleen Coble leaves the ongoing lives of the characters room to continue on. A glimpse into their lives for a short period of time, exciting and dangerous, hopefully settling down after. Colleen Coble is always on my instant read list and this book is no different. If you are looking for an exciting read with multiple levels of action and suspense, this book is what you need. I received a complimentary copy of this book. Another powerful book by Coble! There's a reason you should read her novels--she's just that good! The conclusion to the Annie Pederson series is as powerful as the beginning. I love the well-developed characters, the Michigan setting and the breakneck speed of all the action.

Honestly you can't go wrong reading a Coble book. She leaves you with satisfying endings and a message of hope in each novel.

What a rollercoaster ride and a great guessing game!
I loved every minute of this book!
I love how Coble pulls you in from page 1 and doesn't let go until the last page is turned.
Lots of twists and turns that I definitely didntnsee coming which made it that much more exciting!
5 stars for an excellent and exciting story! One I'll be thinking about long after Annie's story is over.
She's truly an amazing character. I liked her from the get go. Always the protector or tries to be.
I did read the Rock Harbor series which I loved so I was excited to see again. However briefly.
Coble just has a way of letting you "visit" places without ever leaving the comfort of your home.

THIS IS THE FINAL BOOK IN THIS SERIES AND WHAT AN INTERESTING BOOK IT WAS.... This third book did not disappoint and left me wanting Coble to return us to Rock Harbor one day. Her books are so masterfully written that I am always looking forward to the next book. Annie is still hurting from her sister's betrayal but is trying to move on in her relationship with her child's father. But people are being killed in hunting accidents and something just doesn't seem to add up. Is it really accidents? Surely it cannot be deliberate and if it is... why? This was sometimes hard to fathom as you realize what is really going on. I was given a complimentary copy of this book from the publisher through NetGalley. Break of Day

by Colleen Coble

I strongly encourage readers who enjoy Christian suspense to read the three part Annie Pederson series. As a mystery fan, I rarely read thrillers, only reading suspense that I think will be more mystery than psychologically creepy. This series walks the border for me, but the violence is not graphically depicted and evil is called out for what it is. I really liked Edge of Dusk (#1 in the series), but was not as enamored with Dark of Night (#2 in the series). This last book in the series blew me away. There were surprises right and left and lots of character development. Character motivations, both good and bad, were revealed.

Annie’s daughter Kylie, that I didn’t much care for in Dark of Night, was not an active character in this third book, but concern for her and her safety was appropriately inserted. Relationships were fractured and healed. Roadblocks rose up and were gradually dismantled through trust in God.

The focus of the book was the horrible hunting of innocent tourists and hikers as a game. This thread began in the first book, but was central to Break of Day. Annie’s law enforcement skills, outdoor survival tactics, nautical expertise, stamina, protectiveness, and moral character make her a protagonist to be admired and applauded. The themes of forgiveness and trust in God are woven throughout the tale as sisters Annie and Sarah relive past traumas and learn that their love for each other trumps previous hurts and mistakes.

There is beautiful symbolism of God’s faithfulness in a goldfinch he sends to reassure Kylie in a moment of crisis. Other symbolism is found in the darkness of the forest when Annie and Sarah are being hunted. They couldn’t tell which way to go because they couldn’t see the sun. They needed God to shed light on the situation and give direction.

I have to give a shout out to the dogs in the series. Samson is a search and rescue dog whose skills in Edge of Dusk are amazing. In Break of Day Sarah rescues Scout who later provides comfort and help to her. Samson’s pup Milo causes some welcome humorous chaos as this serious series draws to a close.

I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

Rating: 5/5

Category: Mystery & Thriller, Romance, Women’s Fiction

Notes: 1. #3 in the Annie Pederson Novels. I recommend reading this series sequentially and close together time wise. Each book is a continuation of the prior book and will be best enjoyed if read as a unit.

Publication: July 4, 2023—Thomas Nelson

Memorable Lines:

“How many times does the Bible say ‘Fear not’? Enough times that we know God doesn’t want us to cower in our homes. And I’m not going to do it. What kind of example would that be for Kylie? I want to model courage not cowardice.”

“There’s room for all of us. Love is like that. It doesn’t matter how many people you love, there is always room for more.”

She found it hard to believe anyone could be so twisted and cruel. Evil was the real word. There was evil in the world, and the three of them faced it right now.

The explosive conclusion to this thrilling trilogy finds Annie fighting for her life and her sister.

Everything seems to be falling into place as Annie and John plan their future together, but her distrust for her newfound sister hangs over them, as well as the series of missing hikers on the Gitchi Gami trail. A fast paced read that picks up right where the previous book left off, I loved seeing how far Annie and John have come, as well as how they have grown in meeting challenges as a team.

After the previous books, Sarah was pretty hard to like, but I think that she won me over in this final installment. It was good to see her think through some things, and decide that she wanted to try to do better.

Overall, a tension filled thriller, with seriously twisted bad guys and finally some answers about what happened so many years ago. An engaging read that was hard to put down, with great relationship building, redemption, action, faith, and family.

I received a complimentary copy of this book. Opinions expressed in this review are completely my own.

This was a brilliant conclusion to a gripping series.

I loved this book from start to finish although not my usual genre it had me hooked from book one. Within Break of Day you see more of Annie and Jon relationship blossom as they navigate the new path of being back in each others lives and realising that Kylie is actually their child.

That is not all they also have to cope with Annie's sister being back in their lives and the journey to forgiveness between Annie and Sarah. This was also lovely to read and see develop the author really pulled on your emotions.

With all that emotional turmoil there is still more when they get caught in what can only be describe as a murder game from someone who they considered a friend. I don't want to write any spoilers all I can say is you will need to read to find out but it isn't who you would think but very well written.

Throughout there was a good element of faith contact and a reminder that no matter the circumstances God will protect you and see you through.

A really enjoyable read. Thank you to Net Galley and Colleen Coble for the chance to receive an ARC copy of this book to honestly review.

I didn’t realize when I started reading this story that it was the final book of three, still it was a great mystery and hard to put down. I would recommend reading the three books in order as you would have more of the background to the characters.

The book had romance in it and was action packed and full of suspense. Annie the main character has had a lot of struggles since the sudden death of her parents and husband. Raising a child as a single parent and doing her job in law enforcement has been challenging. She is getting a second chance at love when things happen that might destroy everything. Does Annie and her loved ones make it out alive?

I would recommend this book to anyone who likes fast-paced romantic suspense.

Thanks to NetGalley and Thomas Nelson for an advanced copy of this book.

I was drawn to the Annie Pederson series for two reasons. I actually know a woman by that name, which was an amusing coincidence and Collen Coble, one of the best mystery writers today. This has been such a riveting series. I do advise that any reader who is interested should start with the first of the three books. Break of Day is a stand-alone novel as the author fills in enough background to keep the story going smoothly but it's so much better in my opinion to read in sequence. They are that good.
I received an advanced reader's copy of the book from Thomas Nelson through NetGalley this is my unsolicited opinion about the story. What an ending to the murder-mystery that Annie has been immersed in! Annie and Jon are planning their future then she learns that Glenn Hussert has escaped. Her sister needs protection, another woman visiting the area has been reported missing and Annie is trying to protect her family while helping the sheriff find the escapee. This is one tension filled plot with life threatening danger and a shocking revelation. (I loved it, figured it out.) I'm so pleased with how the entire story came together for an excellent ending.
Now, Colleen Coble, I think Annie needs more crimes to solve. She's a great character and needs more than three books.

Break of Day is the final book in the Annie Pederson series by Colleen Coble. As we have seen in the previous books, Annie is a law enforcement officer who had lost her husband a couple of years ago and had recently reunited with her childhood sweetheart Jon. Though her daughter Kylie is initially resistant about the idea of a new man in her dad's place, she later gradually and upto him. At the end of the previous book, both Annie and Jon had just discovered that Kylie is actually Jon's biological daughter. The fiasco Sarah had with Kylie had finally pulled Sarah out of the hate-filled stupor she had indulged herself in and now she hopes to create a place for herself in her sister's life.

Amidst all these personal turmoil, Annie and her team are still on the lookout for the reason behind the disappearance of certain tourists/hikers in their small town and Annie wants to find the culprit at all costs. Having sent her daughter out of the line of danger, Jon and Annie are determined to find out the killer who has been preying young women. With Sarah trying her best to find the complete truth of her kidnapping and Annie closing the distance between herself and the killer, the killer plays a game of his own to divert the attention of the police.

What does the killer do? Is he successful in his attempts of evading the police? Does Annie manage to find out who the culprit is and secure him before more people are affected? The answers to these questions and the conclusion to this series have been compiled into a compact and racy thriller designed to send the readers into a frenzied reading spree.

Author Coble had done an excellent job in setting up the story, so much so that, when all the truths come out and the good guys win the day, the reader feels a sense of gratification as well. The story travels fast, with one event leading onto another in a brisk and clear pace. However, the final lap of the story takes place in a forest for quite a long time and that alone tested my patience.

Despite this small issue, I enjoyed this book immensely and really like Colleen's style of writing; I sure would want to try more of her books.

Colleen Coble delivers yet again another edge of the seat thriller! With an original twist to several mysterious disappearances and a macabre hunt, Coble fans will find their heart rate accelerating as they page through the conclusion of the Annie Pederson series. I have found Coble to be the queen of suspense, skillful at plot pacing, switching points of view, keeping fans totally invested in the story until the final page has been read.

With two mysteries arcing through the series, I highly recommend readers start with Edge of Dusk, the first book in the series. Longtime Coble fans will be drawn by the return to Rock Harbor, the setting of one of her most popular series. While this is definitely classified as a suspense thriller, I loved the second chance at romance story.

Amazing book I couldn’t put it down. Anna needs to find who’s behind what’s going on, but what she finds out isn’t good. Her sister also wants to make amends with her. What can she do?
It want be the same, but just maybe she can give it a shot.
She loves Jon with all her heart. He’s her rock, and when she needs him he’s right there for her and there daughter.
I highly recommend all these books.
A beautiful ending. But some tragic things.

Break of Day, by Colleen Coble, continues her Annie Pederdo series. Life seems to be settling down for Law Enforcement officer Annie Pederdo; however, Annie and Jon are soon fighting to keep the custody of their daughter. Before this problem can be resolved, Annie again has her hands full chasing after a serial killer!

In the midst of all this activity, Annie and Jon hope to find a moment to finally tie the knot and become man and wife. However, the busyness of life yet again interferes. When Annie and Jon head into the woods to track after this band of killers, you will never believe it when the leader of this pack is actually identified!

You cannot help but wonder if Annie, Jon and her sister Sarah will make it out alive!

Colleen Coble has done it again! Break of Day was the perfect, most gripping conclusion to the Annie Pederson series. I’ve loved being back in Rock Harbor!

Break of Day really wrapped up the whole series in such a satisfying way that I’m torn between wanting more, and being content with the way things ended. As in any Coble novel, there is plenty of suspense, many heart-racing moments, and more than enough plot twists to keep your mind reeling and keep you laying awake at night trying to solve the mystery!

Colleen Coble knocked this one out of the park! There were so many twists, I was kept guessing until the big "reveal" at the end. While two of the "bad guys" were pretty obvious, the third one was a shocker.

This was an adrenaline-filled conclusion for the Annie Pederson series. Readers who love romantic suspense need to read ANYTHIING Coble has written, but the Annie Pederson series has been just thrilling. Coble returns her readers to Rock Harbor, MI, the setting for another of her series, and some of the characters from the first series show up here. I would definitely recommend that the series be read in order: Edge of Dusk, Dark of Night, Break of Day.
