Description

The Shaman’s Stone is a split story, which occurs within a remote geographical site along a river stream within a well-known National Forest in lower Michigan featuring two protagonists; who lived centuries apart. One protagonist has been born into and is familiar to the wilderness and the other is a stranger to it; both are profoundly centered on their fathers; and both become linked together while enduring a living hell deep within that wilderness area. However, they are given a chance to be guided to safety with the aid of a shaman’s stone that each manages to possess.

Section one features Little Turtle, a young Miami Native American during the summer of 1761, who finds himself and his village in throes of a pending warpath with a competing tribe. His father is the chief. The second section links a modern Caucasian teenager, Ben Nelson, living in a secure suburban university town, who finds himself alone and caught a frightful web of mishaps during his first wilderness fishing trip in the summer of 2001. His dad is the leader.

The Shaman’s Stone is an action-packed chronicle that provides a path for a heartfelt coming of age outcome. Despite the odds and the help of the shaman’s stone, they look to find their way homeward.
