ABOUT THE AUTHOR
Patricia D’Arcy Laughlin was born in Trinidad of British and French ancestry. She was educated there, the UK, and the USA. She is a world traveler and an award-winning artist, famous for developing her “Unique Stainings On Wood.” Although she has composed poetry, Sacrifices For Kingdoms is her first novel. She lives in Florida with her husband, and she has three children, five grandchildren, and two great-grandchildren.

There was so much depth and detail that went into this story. I could tell how much the author cared about her writing. It was a slow burn but the descriptions were so vivid, I didn't even care. I was taking my time with everything in the story.

SOOO MANY EMOTIONS:) Most romantic books are mostly smut with little to no plot but this book is the complete opposite. It provided romance, emotions, and an amazing plot. This book has raised my standards for other romantic books! I will definitely be reading more from this author and looking forward to new releases.

When an intelligent woman and a handsome prince cross paths, sparks immediately fly. However, both are harboring secrets that could threaten any chance of a happily ever after.
Author Patricia D’Arcy Laughlin serves up a cast of rich characters in Sacrifices For Kingdoms. Elizabeth, who lives in Trinidad, has been educated in both the United States and Europe. Her keen intelligence shines through in her philanthropic endeavors. Prince Michael is notably smitten by the beautiful young woman. He, too, has causes he champions, along with his own secrets.
Elizabeth knows she shouldn’t see Michael, but it’s difficult to resist someone who believes in love at first sight. They come together in an explosive force, which could potentially be uncomfortable for readers due to the explicitness. Given the overall tone of the storyline, I would have expected much less formality in the sexy scenes, allowing them to be more spontaneous and maybe even incorporate body part slang.
Although the first part of the story seems to be a steamy contemporary romance, trouble soon enters when the content of Elizabeth’s public speeches (God has no gender) wreaks havoc for Michael. An attack, coupled with the exposure of Elizabeth’s dark secret, seemingly sets the stage for a sacrifice that might destroy them.
Aside from the copious clunkiness of the coitus, the storyline is filled with adventure as two people fight against the boundaries of their roles to find happiness together. The cliffhanger gives readers hope that the characters will continue the battle in a future installment.
Sacrifices For Kingdoms provides a steamy contemporary romance sandwiched between duty and desire.
