Description

For Heather Gordon, life in her small North Carolina town has always been simple and uneventful. Until one night when a rowdy food fight breaks out in her family’s restaurant where she’s a waitress. The culprits? The internationally famous rock band, Kirwan. And when Alex Kirwan, the charming and enigmatic lead singer, wants to make amends for his brothers’ (and bandmates’) behavior and invites her to attend one of their concerts as a guest of the band, Heather’s world is turned upside down . . . and sparks fly.

Alex has always loved music, but his rock star life isn’t all glamorous people and parties. It’s also paparazzi and online tabloids, a new city every week, and the loneliness of touring—even if he has his brothers with him. But with Heather things are different, and he’s instantly smitten and determined to get to know the sweet, pretty woman who has absolutely no interest in his fame. If only he can convince her to take a chance on his crazy life.

Once Alex leaves for tour, he and Heather begin exchanging messages and calls. Despite the distance between them, they find themselves learning they have more in common than they ever could have imagined. But even while Heather and Alex’s relationship deepens, they must face the harsh realities of fame and the pressures it puts on their personal lives. Will their love be enough to overcome the challenges that come with celebrity, or will the rigors of distance and Alex’s life on the road tear them apart?

Filled with heart and the intoxicating allure of possibility, Starstruck is a must-read for anyone who has ever dreamed of finding love in surprising places.

Starstruck by Amy Clipston was such a sweet romantic story; I loved it!!! I am not as familiar with Amy’s book, but I was drawn to the title and the premise sounded cute. I am SO glad I opted to try it out. I was delighted the whole way through. Heather and Alex are both down to earth characters who have real life experiences and conversations. Yes, Alex is famous rock star, but he has the heart of an everyday guy who just wants to be loved and accepted for who he is, not what he offers. I love the sass of Heather and the genuine friendship that strikes up between them. Alex is just a really sweet guy who falls hard and fast for an everyday, small-town girl. I loved their conversations as they got to know one another and become more immersed in each other’s world.
I had the added bonus of listening to an audiobook narrated by Madison Lawrence who genuinely brought the characters to life.
I received a complimentary copy from the publisher via NetGalley and all opinions expressed are solely my own, freely given.

Who doesn't like a Rockstar romance?!!! This was also a small town romance. Highly recommend! I fell in love with the characters!

I have officially found a new favorite author! This story was truly wonderful! I just loved the characters that Ms. Clipston developed in this story! I found Heather as just an awesome character. I laughed out loud when she first turned down this music star "Alex Kirwan" from attending his concert (he was trying to give her tickets as an apology for the huge mess his brothers left in her family's restaurant) by telling him she would be busy washing her hair that night! Her sister talked her into going, and it was a life changing event for Heather.

I simply loved how Heather's personality was developed so opposite of how so many just swoon over stars. She isn't easily impressed. However, Alex was also very unique in his desires and goals in life. Without giving away the ending, I will just say this author truly brought home these unique characters and their personalities when she revealed the direction they would take going forward. It was not expected, and it was so refreshing and wonderful! I will absolutely be seeking (and purchasing) more books by Ms. Amy Clipston. She is a truly gifted storyteller!

Thank you so much, Netgalley and HarperCollins Christian Publishing, for giving me this tremendous opportunity to read this advanced title simply in exchange for an honest review. It was amazing!

I loved this audio book. Normally audio books can’t keep my attention but this story was so captivating from the very beginning. I’d make up excuses to throw in my ear buds and take the dog for another walk! The author did a fantastic job of making these characters seem very real and gave all of us “nobody’s” hope that we too could mean something to someone so famous. I’m pretty sure the time it too for me to finish this Audi book was a record for me! Thank you Amy Clipston for writing such a captivating cute story! I’ll be looking out for your next one!

I absolutely loved the audio of Starstruck.
When small town waitress Heather meets the charming Alex Kirwan, lead singer of a famous rock band, the sparks fly.

Heather and Alex were such a great couple to follow. This book was a sweet and charming love story.
For people that don’t like spice this is a good book for you.
This was my first book by Amy Clipston but won’t be my last.

Ugh Heather and Alex make my heart throb. I clearly did not want this book to end. Alex and Heather meet at Heather’s family business. Alex is a big time singer and is in awe when Heather has no clue who he is, so what does the superstar do? Back stage tickets to his concert. This book was filled with ups and downs and had me on a kid sized rollercoaster!
Thank you NetGalley & Harper Collins publishing for the opportunity to listen to this book in exchange for my honest feedback!

This was a refreshing, clean, unlikely meeting between a small-town waitress and a rock star. I loved the story about Heather and Alex. Heather is a down to earth, naive, goal-oriented girl next door who doesn't think she deserves someone like Alex. Alex is in a popular rock band with his brothers who wants normalcy but is living in the spotlight of being famous. The story of their long distance, in secrecy, but then in the face of the world is beautiful and well written.

Madison Lawrence did a wonderful job of narrating this book for Amy Clipston. Amy, well, she gets a five star rating from me. This is the first novel I've read from her, but will be looking for more in the future.

Thank you Amy Clipston, Netgalley and Harper Collins Publishing for the chance to read or listen to this ARC. My review and rating is my own and not in exchange for anything.

(NetGalley Audio book review)
This book is an excellent choice if you are a young teen reader and are looking for a Young Adult Romance. *
The story is easy and fun with a touch of new love drama. It is clean and clear of any unwelcome spice.
The characters are wonderful and challenged with small town life vs. rock star life. Its all about family and support and close friends that have your back. Enjoy this light-hearted romance with a sweet ending!

Starstruck, by Amy Clipston, is the story of an unlikely relationship between an ordinary small town woman and a famous rock star. When the band Kirwan stops to grab dinner at the Pit Barbeque in Flowering Grove, NC, the two younger brothers, Kayden and Jordan, end the meal with a food fight, making a mess for Heather and Wendy Gordon, daughters of the owners, to clean up. When older brother Alex returns from the restroom to find the mess and a fuming Heather, even though the younger Kirwan’s had left a very large tip. Alex, embarrassed, offers VIP tickets for their concert in Charlotte the following evening. Wendy is thrilled, Heather indicates she needs to wash her hair, unimpressed by the rockstars.

But Heather does accompany her sister, enjoys the concert, and while looking for the location of the meet and greet after a restroom visit, she wanders into Alex’s dressing room to find him with his guitar and singing a beautiful love song. As they begin talking they discover many common interests and begin forging a friendship. When Heather inadvertently leaves her cell phone in his dressing room, Alex makes sure to take it to her as they travel to their next gig.

Over the next few months, their relationship grows through texts, phone calls, and emails and as long as they keep their relationship to themselves it blossoms. But the instant the paparazzi and the social media get ahold of the information things change.

This is a very well written tale spotlighting a different kind of relationship. With well drawn characters and an interesting plot, I did enjoy this book and I do recommend it!
