Description

PLEASE NOTE BEFORE REQUESTING TITLE: I originally wrote this story under the pen name Evelyn Montgomery as a dark erotic romance. This is not that story. This is the second edition, a romantic fantasy retelling/continuing story of the original "Peter & Wendy" by J.M. Barrie. I took a new pen name, Brittany Montgomery, for fantasy/pnr when I republished this book. I am sorry for any confusion between titles and pen names.

All is not as it seems in Neverland.

As for Peter & Hook...

I know the secret most don’t.

The real truth behind the myth.

The hidden wonder you’ve never known

disguised as the notorious legend.

I know the nightmare

that brings Hook to his knees.

The inescapable reality

Peter Pan one day couldn’t fly away from.

All you’ve ever been told is a lie.

A hoax.

A pixie trick.

I know the truth because...

I’m their ruin.

I’m their demise.

I’m the end of what was &

the beginning of what’s to come.

My name is Wendy Moira Angela Darling,

& I’m the reason for losing Neverland.

Advance Praise

"This book is insane in the best way. It’s twisted and devastatingly beautiful. Passionate, obsessive, & emotional."

"I wish that I could reread this book for the first time, it was so good!"

"WOW! I could NOT put this book down! It was a rollercoaster ride. This book is unique, and beautiful. I ate this up so quickly I already miss it! What I would give to be able to read this for the first time again!"

"Losing Neverland gets all the stars!!! This is your sign to go by this book right now. Growing up, Peter Pan was always one of my favorite fairytales. Let me tell you, the story gets better with age and the adult version. I absolutely could not put this book down. Like I refused to cook dinner and made the kids order pizza couldn't put it down. Wendy and Peter are so amazing and the spice between these two, holy cow! This dual POV is dark, sexy, and it hits all the right spots."

"I DO NOT even know where to begin with the absolute perfection Losing Neverland is! I never want to watch a single Peter Pan movie or the cartoon because I want this story to be Peter and Wendy's real story!!!"

"'Everything. That’s my favorite part.' Truer words were never spoken. I read this book three times. Three in a row. And each time I was just as sucked into the story as the first. More so actually as this is one of those books that the more times you read it, the more you find it blows your mind. The symbolism in this book is astounding. The twists are different in that they are revealed early. The love is a timeless, tragic, beautifully happy love story that will absolutely leave you coming back again… and again… and again."

"Losing Neverland will keep you saying, 'just one more chapter,' until you finally finish!"

"OMG!!! I’m still in shock. Losing Neverland is a Peter Pan retelling like none of the rest! What a ride! This is not the story you thought you knew. THIS IS A DEFINITE RECOMMEND FOR ME! Do yourself a favor and don’t read any spoilers or crazy detailed reviews & go in blind. It’s worth it. We all know the players, but Brittany’s version will grab ahold of you and not let go."

New spin of the timeless tale of Peter Pan and Neverland. It's a narrative that takes the familiar story but imbued with a compelling undercurrent of sexual tension, complex emotions, and profound life lessons, peeling back the layers of characters such as Peter Pan and Captain Hook to reveal their hidden truths. Additionally, the narrative introduces jealous characters who are willing to go to great lengths, even if it means throwing Neverland into disarray, to achieve their desires.

“Losing Neverland” by Brittany Montgomery was amazing. It is very slow burn but was completely worth it. I loved the unique spin on Hook, Peter Pan, Wendy’s life, the characters surrounding them, including Wendy's brothers, Tinker Bell, the Indians, and the mermaids. Without a doubt deserves a solid 5 out of 5 stars.

I love fairytale retellings and Peter Pan is my favorite. This story puts a spin on Peter Pan that I have never read or even thought about and I am here for it! I don’t want to say too much and give anything away but I loved this book…even though it did get a bit slow in the middle. I felt like the plot was well thought out and executed and kept my attention throughout. I loved all of the characters and if you like retellings then I highly recommend this one!

This was such a interesting concept for a fairy tale retelling, I enjoyed the idea of Peter Pan and Hook being the same person. It had a great story and kept me interested in what was going on. Brittany Montgomery has a great writing style and I enjoyed the way it was written and that the characters worked overall.

Omg this book!!! It took me a min to read due to personal reasons but I seriously could not put it down unless I had too! So many twists and turns and that ending! Didn’t see that one coming at all. I’ve read dark Peter Pan retellings (have to read the first edition to losing neverland) and this by far is up there super close to my most fav retelling. The plot the twists and turns had me on edge not knowing what would happen. I felt I knew 1 thing and I was right but I feel it was wrote that way on purpose and I loved it. Can not wait for book 2!

“I kiss and whisper, “Stay with me, Wendy.”

I wrote SIX pages of notes for this book. Six! I want to share some of the words that played on repeat for me throughout reading my ARC of Losing Neverland.

Heartbreakingly poignant. Enthralled. Incredibly interesting take. Gutting. Magical. This entire chapter ripped my heart out root and stem. I am done for.

Those were just in part one of Losing Neverland. What Brittany Montgomery has done with Losing Neverland is take a story that I didn’t enjoy much growing up and spin it into a beautiful web of love, loss, courage, and struggle. I read a lot and it takes a lot for me to get blown away by a book but that is exactly what this book did. It blew me away. I am looking forward to what comes next in this terrifically twisted tale of Peter and Wendy!

this is such a wild ride of a story!!! I loved the Peter Pan story growing up, and I have seen and read so many variations on this tale, and this one was definitely a favorite! I don't know quite how to give a spoiler free review of this, but the story is filled with so many twists and shocks and emotion and passion and growth and heartbreak and so many fantastical elements. There were times it was a little hard to follow, but it all came together in the end. I definitely enjoyed reading this story! Thank you for the arc!!!

I love a retelling and I thought this was well done. 4.5⭐️
As a child I fell hard for Peter Pan and couldn’t wait to see where this was going to take me. It starts with a present day event that sent a chill through me and I was immediately hooked. The main characters have chemistry and I love how the author wrote the romance.
This had drama, suspense and a couple of shocking delicious twists. I would recommend for anyone who loves retellings.
Thanks Brittany Montgomery via NetGalley.
