OFF MY CHEST: Letters to the Editor…+ contains over 120 letters along with a few articles written by Richard Levik from 1989-2012. Richard moved from Queens, N.Y. to Los Angeles in 1989, where all these letters were penned. The book cover illuminates the topics covered by these letters. The larger the word font appearing on the cover (front and back), the more often the word appears in OFF MY CHEST. Hence Jesus, Christianity, anti-Semitism, Israel, Orthodox Jews, Roman Catholic Church, Messiah, Islam, New Testament and Reform Jews are some of the main and most often appearing topics discussed in one of the most unique, fascinating and enlightening books on the market today.

Religion is the main subject matter and it is not treated with kid gloves. The majority of the letters and articles deal with Judaism as well as Jewish people hood, history and culture. Jesus and Christianity are also looked at through a critical lens that is ultimately seeking objective truth. Often this truth challenges and sometimes condemns traditional views, beliefs and practices. Be prepared to see previously unquestioned views and ideals placed under scrutiny. Brace yourself as tried and true beliefs are exposed as untried and often untrue.

If History is seen as something to not merely learn about for regurgitating names and dates, but to learn the lessons from, so as not to repeat mistakes, then you will appreciate and love this book. OFF MY CHEST is also intended to motivate you to find and nurture your unique and true voice. There is a reason people try and suppress many of our voices. Words have impact, tremendous impact. Once out there they often create a ripple effect. Let’s hope and pray that the words and the spirit of OFF MY CHEST: Letters to the Editor…+ will cause just such a ripple effect throughout our world.
