Set in the grandeur of the Moon Empire, the story follows Emani Malakai, a revered Askarai general, navigating the tumultuous transition from a war-fueled society to one of peace. The author skillfully weaves together themes of loyalty, honor, and the struggle for identity against the backdrop of impending conflict. I found myself engrossed in Emani's journey, torn between his allegiance to the king and his desire to protect his homeland. With its richly developed characters and immersive world-building, this book kept me eagerly turning pages until the very end. The Language of Spears is a great read for fantasy enthusiasts craving adventure and depth alike.

I was hooked from the cover and really enjoyed what I read, it had a great overall feel to it and I enjoyed the overall concept. The characters felt like they were supposed to and enjoyed how well they worked overall. The fantasy elements worked with everything that I wanted and I enjoyed the adventure in this book. Jay Moreland writes a great concept and characters and I wanted more in this series.
