Seventeen-year-old Marin James has always lived in the shadow of the exclusive Huntsworth Academy. And when her cousin is found dead on school property, Marin knows exactly who’s to blame: Adrian Hargraves and Henry Wu, the enigmatic yet dangerously alluring leaders of the school’s social elite.
Seeking justice, Marin poses as a student and infiltrates Huntsworth, only to find herself drawn to her new life—and to the two broken boys she once vowed to destroy.
When Marin uncovers an otherworldly secret the boys are hiding within Huntsworth’s ivied gates, the lines between right and wrong, love and hate, and nightmare and reality begin to crumble—and nothing is as it seems.
Welcome to Huntsworth Academy.

Wow. This was a TRIP down a dark and twisted path. I’ve already recommended it to everyone I know and I’ll be preaching it’s gorgeous prose and upsetting characters you can’t help but root for for the rest of time.

There are 5-star books you love and stare fondly at on your shelves, and there are 5-star books that haunt you from time to time. BWST is the latter. This book's teeth are as sharp as those of its boys and its heroine, and no one, least of all you, dear reader, will leave unmarred by the bites they take out of each other.
The plot seems pat enough at first. A boarding school, a girl intent on revenge, two devilish boys with far too much power, and tumultous ✨feelings✨ arising and binding them all. But there's always something ugly whispering at the seams of these tropes that promises more and more. And oh boy, does this book deliver. There's a bleakness to its philosophy and a hungry horror that builds throughout, culminating in a moment that's as shocking as it makes complete sense. If you're a fan of flawed people, lyrical prose, and books that leave you a little jumpy, then I can't recommend BWST enough!
Thank you Jenni and NetGalley for the ARC!
