Description
On what should be the happiest night of Adrian's life, his world is turned upside down by a strange package left on his doorstep.
“Please take care of my daughter. Her name is Abigail.”
But there is something strange about baby Abigail ... something very wrong.
A wash of emotion overcomes Adrian, and he is compelled to take care of her. His life is turned upside down and he can't help but notice that it all centers around Abigail, who appears to have a mysterious effect on anyone who comes in contact with her. How can Adrian care for such a strange creature, where could the child have come from, and what exactly is she?
But for every answer, there are even more questions about the child with violet eyes, reptilian skin, and horns. The unimaginable ending will offer the reader a glimpse into their own demons and the evil that resides within us all.
Expect the unexpected from this short novelette with a twist you'll never see coming.

Thank you to NetGalley and Last Waltz Publishing for providing this book, with my honest review below.
Abigail is a wonderful short story that drives home a lesson I didn’t expect in the sci fi genre - about the beauty of acceptance in all forms. This lesson, and other gems, are delivered in a bit of a mystery where you catch yourself at the end being surprised by a twist you shouldn’t, which was doubly excellent because it brought with it a reminder not to make assumptions. Just overall a very entertaining short story that brings with it some great lessons. I’d love to get this in front of some younger adults, though it would be valuable to read for those older as well.
Daemon Manx did an amazing job at writting this book! Jesus this was so good. I rated this book 5 stars because I couldn't put it down for a bit. OMG! Please read this book guys...
This little story was a pleasant surprise. Our main character gets a surprise on his doorstep -- a baby! We never learn much about him, but he loves and cares for this baby and wants to take care of her, even though she is unusual. While this could be considered horror, it's also really sweet. The twist was a surprise, but we had all the clues. Thanks to NetGallley for letting me read this.
Abigail is something special....
A bite-sized little "creature feature"-esq tale has an interesting little spin on your typical monster story, Abigail is also a story about acceptance... The desires to live without judgements... And how sometimes those of us who are judged as being "different" in some way can just as easily judge others differences.
This is a short horror novelette with a touch of humor and a whole lot of heart.
