Description
It took years and fistfuls of tears for Liberty to convince herself that Zion Malik Mitchell had been a figment of her imagination. She’d suppressed every memory to lessen the burn—and because it’s the proper thing to do once you’ve become another man’s wife. Now the mother, wife, and #SoldiersofLove relationship columnist for Love & Lifestyle magazine finds herself in a heartfelt tug of war when her childhood sweetheart, Zion, resurfaces.
For Zion, Liberty had always been his peace and the one who got away. He needed her more than he was ever willing to admit, and while it’s often said that time heals all wounds, all time had done for Zion was rob him of a future with the love of his life. When tragedy strikes, Zion’s freedom is left hanging in the balance as he awaits sentencing. Plagued with guilt and fear, there’s only one person he trusts to help him through his most arduous battle ever—Liberty.
Will Liberty sacrifice her picture-perfect life and rush to Zion’s side in hopes of healing and setting them both free, or will resurrecting their war-torn past open a Pandora’s box neither will be able to close?

I thought this book was well written. It touches on many different areas that we as humans can relate to . It’s about love, loss, friendship, and all of the things that we all go through when transitioning from childhood into adulthood. Highly recommended.

Thank you to Netgalley and the publisher for allowing me the opportunity to review Soldiers of Love by N'Tyse. This was a story of maturation, and coming into adulthood. As a 53 y/o woman, I found the characters and situations those that I can relate to; I feel as if I have known these characters at sometime in my life, although by a different name. Zion, Liberty's ex-boyfriend, still held her in high esteem, and regarded her as the one who got away. There bond was real, and he still trusted her, and wanted her by his side.
The love and bonds Liberty had for Zion was palpable; the soul ties between them were real. Liberty had a choice to make; would she give up the life/ family she created with her husband to reunited with Zion. I am glad that she went with what she knew was sure, and that brought her peace-- her husband. Liberty put her self first. This is a romance that is a must read.

Soldiers of Love by N’Tyse & Untamed is a solid coming-of-age story that dives deep into love, soul ties, and the reality of outgrowing people—even when your heart still holds on.
Liberty and Zion had that once-in-a-lifetime connection from the jump. Their love started young and carried into their teenage years, but as Liberty began finding herself, she realized Zion no longer fit into the life she was building. The love never faded, but sometimes love isn’t enough. Her transition from Zion to Quincy was necessary growth—real character development that made sense.
What I really liked about this book is how real it felt. The growing pains, the nostalgia, the rekindled friendships—it all hit home. It’s one of those stories that makes you reflect on past relationships and those “what-if” moments we all have.
Overall, Soldiers of Love is a heartfelt, relatable read that perfectly captures the struggles of first love, self-discovery, and moving forward while still honoring the past. I really enjoyed it!

First off, I love NTyse and Untamed. They are both my faves in the urban fiction world. Secondly, this book touched on so many subjects: love, loss, friendship, reunions, etc. I really enjoyed it. Zion was a perfect MC for this story and really carried it for me.

This book took me on an emotional journey through love, loss, and the hard choices we make to grow. Liberty, Zion, and Quincy’s story felt so real, and I found myself rooting for all of them in different ways. It’s a heartfelt tale about breaking cycles, choosing yourself, and finding redemption—I couldn’t put it down!
Title fits perfectly for this story!!!! Beautiful story of ins and outs of young love. A tell of love, loss, friendship, betrayal and ultimately healing at its finest. Most people don't experience love (not even puppy love) until much older but Zion and Liberty found each other at a very ripe and young age. They were very impressionable yet knew what and who they wanted... each other. Together they experience love and heartbreak while fighting to keep their special bond. Beautifully done!!!!!
This second-chance romance novel delivers a journey of love, loss, and redemption between childhood sweethearts Liberty Mae Banks and Zion Malik Mitchell. Reunited after years apart, Liberty and Zion are forced to reckon with the unresolved emotions and wounds from their shared past, while navigating the complexities of their present lives and uncertain futures.
The author masterfully weaves nostalgic schoolyard moments with the raw, mature realities of adulthood, creating a poignant contrast that adds depth to Liberty and Zion’s rekindled relationship. The novel doesn’t shy away from the messiness of real life—tragedy, personal growth, and the intricate web of new relationships all play significant roles in testing the strength of their bond.
Themes of soul ties, forgiveness, loyalty, and healing are explored with sensitivity and nuance. The emotional stakes are high, and the narrative draws readers into the characters’ hearts, inviting empathy for their struggles and triumphs. It’s a story that honors the lingering power of first love while also celebrating the courage it takes to forgive, heal, and choose love again.
Perfect for readers who appreciate emotionally rich storytelling and the bittersweet beauty of rekindled romance, this novel is both a nostalgic ode to young love and a testament to the transformative power of second chances.
Thank you, N'Tyse, UnTamed, NetGalley and Black Odyssey Media for this ARC read.
