Description

Nessia Stephenson's world was safe until a threat from a neighbouring clan forces her to accept a betrothal to a man whose family can offer her the protection she needs. The real threat lies in her intense attraction to the man who arranged the match—the clan's chief and her intended’s brother, Fergus MacKay.

When powerful warlord Fergus MacKay arranges a marriage for his younger brother, William, he has no idea the price will be his own heart. Fergus is captivated by the wildly beautiful Nessia, a woman he can never have.

When the feud between the MacKay and Sutherland clans escalates, Nessia, William, and Fergus all must make sacrifices for their future. Longing and loss, honour and duty. How can love triumph under such desperate circumstances?

Advance Praise

A brave, brawny and flawed Scottish hero? YES PLEASE!

If I could give this book infinite stars, I would. Robbins has really outdone herself with this book. From the very first page you can't help but be hooked . . . To say I loved this book is likely an understatement. Without a doubt the best medieval Highland historical romance I've had the pleasure of reading. ~ Vicky, Amazon

Spellbinging 6 stars

As soon as, I started to read it, I got pulled into Fergus, Nessia and William’s story and kept on reading till the early hours in the morning! I got so captivated that I had to know what would happen next . . . Ms. Robbins’s story is so refreshing because her heroine Nessia is not the traditional young girl we meet in novels, she is brave and will stop at nothing to protect the ones she loves. Again, she was very descriptive of the surroundings. The love scenes are very sensual and well written! The author nicely blended believable characters into her captivating Scottish romance. Let yourself get pulled into this Scottish story filled with love, action, treason and intrigue . . . was fantastic from beginning to end. I can’t wait to read her next book in this series . . . Without reservation, I heartily recommend this fascinating book. ~ Nicole Laverdure "Mirabelle", Amazon

If I could give this more stars, I would.

Nessia Stephenson's suddenly needs protection against the Sutherland's, an enemy clan. Her father and the Laird of the McKay clan workout a betrothal agreement to protect her and her family. At first Nessia does not want to do this, but her father helps her understand that it is for the best. She must do her duty. To her own surprise, she is attracted immediately to Laird McKay, himself....oops......wrong groom. It is William McKay who is the intended groom, Laird McKay' s brother.

Oh my, when Fergus MacKay, Laird of the McKay' s arranges this betrothal for his brother William, William digs his heels in. No way, no how. Fergus convinces him though, but this Highland Laird is in deep emotional turmoil. As soon as he sees his brother's future wife, every sensation in him is alert and at attention.

The Sutherland' s reek havoc and Nessia, William, and Fergus are in for the ride of their lives. How will this all workout?

This journey is so emotional and passionate. Moments of laughter, suspense, sorrow and sizzling chemistry. You are on high alert the entire journey.

Kate Robbins is such a talented author. The quality of work she puts out is amazing. I look forward to her next book in this series. Her love scenes do not disappoint and neither does the adventure she takes you on. This was a gift for me and I truly loved it. I highly recommend this book if you love sizzling great highland stories. Be prepared to feel!
