Description

Selah Davis loves her life as a journalist in Seattle (or so she says) but on a rare trip home to Marietta to cover the Copper Mountain Rodeo, she confesses to her best friends over drinks that her one regret in life is not sleeping with her high school boyfriend, Levi Monroe. Into the bar walks Levi, also home for the rodeo. When her friends dare her to proposition him for a one night stand, she's at first appalled...but the more she thinks about remedying her one regret, the less she can get him and their electric chemistry out of her head. Selah's always been her parents' good daughter. Would it hurt for just one night to be a little bad?

Levi Monroe is ready to settle back in Marietta and start his own rodeo school teaching others the techniques that have made him a star. He doesn't want any distractions during his last rodeo where he aims to win All Around Cowboy, but when his high school sweetheart - the one woman he's never been able to forget - comes along and offers to rewrite their history, it might just be an offer too good to refuse.

I loved this book. The characters were well written with a good storyline. Although a bit mean spirited the way Levi left Selah in the hotel room the first time it added depth to the story.

A quick delightful read! Levi and Selah have lots of long lost chemistry that shines throughout the book. A story filled with steamy cowboys and lifelong friendships. Tease Me, Cowboy by Rachael Johns is a read that is unputdownable, with characters that are bold, passionate and entertaining.

This was a lovely novella about taking a chance on a second chance. Not that Selah was looking for happy ever afters with her high school steady. After all, ten years down the track she had her career in the big city and he was a small town cowboy kind of guy.

Only the chemistry that made resisting him so difficult all those years ago still sparked and she was a big girl now, not scared of what people, most especially her parents, might think.

Levi was a sweetheart right from the get go, but he still had a tiny bit of resentment stored up over their breakup. How was he going to take Selah's plan to rewrite history with the one boy she regretted not going all the way?

Egged on by her best buddy's, Selah embarks on what should be a simple get him out of her system weekend...what happens as a result is very sweet...and hot.

The books I've read so far in this series are all sweet short reads with a strong small town feel.

Levi teases oh so well when it comes to Selah, "what? So you don't want to use my body for one sordid night of orgasms?" He's also a jealous boy when another man tries to land his woman, "I thought you wanted to eff me," he hissed. Raw lust combined with frustration and jealousy had caused him to repeat the exact words she'd used to proposition him on Friday morning." I love me some cowboys and I loved Levi he was a sweetheart all the way through.

TEASE ME, COWBOY is, as the title suggests, a ‘Cowboy Romance’ and my first attempt at reading this romantic sub-genre. To be perfectly honest I have not been big on cowboy westerns, or cowboy anything really; and it was only because I admire Rachael Johns’ work that I trusted her enough to give the genre a go. Well I really, really enjoyed it, it wasn’t all creaking saddles and yeehaa’s as I feared. The story is set in the small fictional town of Marietta. This town was created by a bunch authors who have formed ‘Montana Born Books’ and have all written a number of books set in this town. The founder of the group, Jane Porter, invited Rachael to guest write this novella for them and several of the characters mentioned in TEASE ME, COWBOY have appeared in their own stories. Of course now I am no longer a cowboy romance virgin I will have to look these other stories up.

TEASE ME, COWBOY is a second-chance love story, Selah and Levi had their chance and walked away from it. Now a dare gives them the opportunity to make things right. Something that you don’t think is going to happen after their first dinner together. Despite the shortness of the story (it is a novella after all) there is depth to our loved up couple and enough information about the support cast to feel like you have known them all forever. The romance was believable – I mean they were picking up where they left off and feelings had been smouldering for years – and the sex scene was not gratuitous and fitted into the flow of the story.

Thank you Rachael Johns for converting me to another area of romantic literature – at least I think I thank you – my credit card is whimpering though.

Again another wonderful book in the Copper Mountain Series The way that the stories all link together and bring all the characters into focus within their own books is very cleverly written.
A definite favourite series!

It's no real secret - I have a total weakness for red-headed heroes. Give me Fassbender and his ginger beard any day of the week. So when I heard that the lovely Rachael Johns had written a flame-hair fox, I was in like Flynn.

On top of that, the whole second-chance romance storyline totally has Roz-catnip written all over it!

So, what did I think of Tease Me, Cowboy:

As I said, second-chance romance is a total magnet for me - I love seeing a couple get another go at a forever love. The thing I loved the most about Selah and Levi's reunion is that the reasons they were apart in the first place seemed real. They were both young and lacking in life experience, and the time they've spent apart has allowed them to see that....maybe not straight away, but they do get there. Selah and Levi share an electric connection, and even with the little bumps they have along the way, you can totally believe that they are meant for each other. The sexy times are just that - sexy! Both are yearning for something different in their lives, and the moment they cross paths again in that bar, it's clear that that something is the other person.

I could have read about these two for longer, but even with Tease Me, Cowboy being a novella, you never feel as if you are missing something. There is such a sense of fun about Tease Me, Cowboy - that certain something I already love about Rachael's writing has definitely transferred itself to this book. And she's given me a hot red-headed cowboy! What else could you ask for?

I enjoyed getting little glimpses of the characters from earlier Montana Born books, and meeting with some new ones that I can't wait to read more about. There are certain friends of Selah's that are just busting for their own story, that's for sure.

I've got to say I have really enjoyed - nay, loved! - the Montana Born Books so far. Wonderfully entertaining, fabulous characters and a setting you wish you could immerse yourself in. Rachael's addition to the 76th Copper Mountain Rodeo series is no different - a fun, sweet and sexy romance with a couple you can definitely cheer for.

I requested a copy of this book and the next in the series from NetGalley as soon as I finished reading Kiss Me, Cowboy (number 3 of this series) because I loved it so much and my love continues on in Tease Me, Cowboy! This was another short sweet read. It's about second chances. If you love your cowboys all rouged and tough on the outside but sweet as pie on the inside, this is the story for you! It's a story about a girl who didn't do what she wanted as a young girl, but did as she 'should' and is back today to try and re-write history in one hot weekend. I REALLY loved this short story and I know you will as well!

A second chance romance featuring a big city journalist coming home after 10 years...and realizes her biggest regret was not going all the way with her high school sweetheart, Levi...so she takes steps to rectify in and how. A great little novella about passionately reclaiming the one that got away. Quick, cute, fun.

High school sweethearts that never “sealed the deal” are back in their hometown; Levi is participating in the rodeo and Selah is working on an article as a journalist for her job in Seattle on that very same rodeo. When the two see each other, sparks fly! Both Levi and Selah are each other’s itches, begging to be scratched!

Once the sexy, tight Wranglers fly off, oh how Levi shows EXACTLY how good he can ride! Not only does this book deal with how to mend broken hearts (on both characters’ parts), but it shows how sexy it can be while doing it! Great read that has the right amount of love and sex! This novella was a sweet book about second chance romances in a small town that I could definitely feel at home in!

Tease Me, Cowboy is a story about a second chance at love. Selah Davis was with her friends and she ended up confiding to them that her biggest regret was not sleeping with her high school boyfriend Levi Monroe. They end up talking her into propositioning him for one night. Well, that one night doesn't go as planned. Levi loved Selah and when the opportunity to get a little payback for all the times she left him high and dry in high school presents itself he takes it. I really enjoyed this story by Rachael Johns. It was a great addition to the series and a quick read. The one thing I don't like about novellas is how short they are. This story, like most other novellas, could have been expanded into a full length novel. Luckily for the reader, the length of this story doesn't make it feel rushed. It also brings back characters from other books in the series, but not in a way that those who haven't read the other books would suffer. It is a sweet story and one I recommend to all romance readers. I'd give it 4 stars and I am looking forward to reading more in this series.

Filled with the excitement of the rodeo, with a little frisson of heat running through, this was a quick, fun read in a setting I’m really coming to love. I do enjoy a good second-chance romance and Selah and Levi’s was particularly nice to read, without feeling too rushed at the end. Marietta is just full of so many good characters, with so many interesting stories waiting to be told - I can’t wait to read the rest of the series.

This story is part of the Montana Born Series and takes us back to the town of Marietta.

22755308 Selah and Levi were high school sweethearts, after graduation Selah goes off to college and a successful career in Seattle; Levi goes off to to take care of his dying mom and a successful career in the Rodeo.

These two haven't seen each other in 10 years, but when Selah has to come back to Marietta for an article she's writing and Levi is back to compete in his final Rodeo, these two get a second-chance at romance.

The story is really short and it catches us up with a lot of our favorite Marietta residents, so definitely worth checking out.

***I was given an ARC in exchange for my honest opinion***

I love books about second chance in love and tease Me, Cowboy was a great novella about high school sweethearts Selah Davis and Levi Monroe meeting again after 10 years in their hometown Marietta.

Selah has a successful career in Seattle and when she visit Marietta in order to write a few articles about the Copper Mountain Rodeo she had no idea that a 4 days visit back home will change her life.

Levi is competing in his last rodeo and he's planning to start his own rodeo school in Marietta and the last person he thought he'll see back home is Selah but as much as he's trying to keep his distance from her, he still has very strong feelings for her and he finds it very hard to stay away and guard his heart.

Tease Me, Cowboy was a short novella that I really enjoyed reading. It was funny, sexy and it was great to read about second chance in love.

I also enjoyed reading about characters from previous books

Tease Me, Cowboy is a rodeo take on the taking-the-chance-you-wished-you-had-taken-years-ago kind of story. I am not sure I think of it as a second chance since if Luke Monroe and Selah Davis had taken the chance in high school, I think they would have still parted ways. This is because both of these characters are written as work oriented personalities with very different career goals. Now years later they are both ready for something lasting even though Selah still thinks work is enough for her in the beginning of this novella. How they come to realize that the friendship and love that they had as high schoolers is still alive and burning hot. Luke and Selah finding the adult version of the teenager that they loved makes it a very enjoyable read.

In fact, I love Levi and Selah together, seemingly bringing out the best in each other. This shows how Rachael Johns does a marvelous job of pulling the reader into the outcome of their renewed connection. Also there is an unexpected dramatic twist near the end that adds to this story. this is my first read of a book by Rachael Johns but now she is an author whose books I will seek out to read.

On the Montana Born Rodeo series, I had enjoyed another book in the series, which is why I wanted to read this one. However, the stories are not really connected except by the rodeo. Each is easily a stand-alone read. Each accomplished author has a different style and different voice. I enjoy the variety that this set up provides.

NetGalley provided a copy.

This book was a short read but packed with a lot of fun, and yummy romance. The storyline draws you in and keeps you all the way to the end. The book is steamy, but has a fun story and it not just your traditional Romance. I love a good Cowboy book and this is one of them I can't wait to read more but Rachael.

Tease Me, Cowboy is really good light romantic novella with theme of a second chance at love.
Selah Davis left Marietta many years ago, and then became a journalist with the career in the big city. Selah is back in her hometown to cover the Copper Mountain Rodeo and meet after 10 years her friends. Also her first love Levi Monroe is in Marietta for his last rodeo before he retires and opens his rodeo school. So there is their second chance at love after the heartbreak on their prom night. Her friends recommended her to offer him a one night stand, and Levi can't refuse. But will be one night enough for them? Have they this time a chance for a future together?

I'd definitely recommend Tease Me, Cowboy by Rachael Johns to all readers who love good passionate cowboy romance, which is very well written and easily bring you up to action.

This is a tale which gives the reader all they want... high school wishes becoming a reality. Has the sweet... some conflict and ends with the way your heart dreams of... solid read.

This is a lovely coming home/second chances romance. Selah and Levi were high school sweethearts whose relationship ended all too soon. All grown up and living very different lives, they are still the "gold standard" for other relationships. Back in Marietta for the Rodeo, they meet up for the first time since their breakup.

Selah has a trick up her sleeve but when Levi tricks her back, it's not so good. With romance in the air for so many of their friends and family, Selah and Levi have to decide what is most important to them.

It's a sweet book with far more sexual tension than actual getting it on.

Tease Me, Cowboy is part of a new series that is an offshoot of an older series. That means this novella bridges the gap. Fans of Rachael Johns will be happy with this well written second chance at love story. They will be glad to catch up on favorite characters. Readers new to Ms. Johns will love the story and hopefully become interested enough in the secondary characters to go back and read the previous series (as I did!). The premise was good, the pacing fast as befits the format, and the story first rate. The balance of story, character and romance was excellent. I will (and have) read more from this talented author.

Selah and Levi have a chance at romance after ten years. Cute story about silly teenagers with flaming hormones growing up into horny adults. There wasn't much character development and lots of side characters from other books, I tried to keep up but it was too much. Worth an evening read but not the most exciting.

I enjoyed this story of two former high school sweethearts who connect again when both return to their hometown in Montana. Selah was a great character, and I wanted a great future for her. I had a more difficult time connecting with Levi, as he came across to me often as a real jerk. For instance, he broke up with Selah in high school when she wasn't ready to have sex with him. Once they meet again, Levi leads her on in a huge way and then leaves her wanting him. He later tells her he was getting back at her for not putting out in high school. I didn't think that those instances showed him to be a man who respected woman, and I didn't think he was good enough for Selah. Aside from that, I enjoyed the story.
