Description

The Honeymoon Series: Book 3
He needs a wife…
Single bodyguard Nick Calhoun has been given an ultimatum by his boss—find a wife or lose his cushy, high-paying job. Clients’ wives are hitting on him and putting Nick, and his boss, in hot water. But monogamy? He’s never been a white picket fence kind of guy, and he’s not about to embrace the happily married lifestyle now. He needs a wife who doesn’t care about his steamy, extra-curricular love life…and he knows just the woman to fit the bill.
She needs a home…
Adalaide Sinclair spent years caring for her ill grandmother. Upon Grammy’s death, she’s stunned to find herself evicted from the only home she’s ever known and labeled a thief by her inheritance-hungry family. Addie needs to find a place to live and a job—fast. So when her childhood friend, Nick, proposes a no-sex marriage of convenience, she puts her dreams of true love and happily-ever-after on hold. Finding Prince Charming can wait a little longer, right?
But will their friendship survive the honeymoon?
When Nick and Addie unexpectedly win a dream honeymoon, they decide to go their separate ways during the ten-day vacation. Too bad a camera crew is waiting for them at the tropical paradise. Acting like a head-over-heels bride and groom for reality TV wreaks havoc on their no-sex agreement…and blurs the line between fantasy and reality. Will Nick and Addie remain married in name only, or will a romantic honeymoon for show turn them into true newlyweds?

This is a quick yet lovely friends to lovers story that can be read as a stand alone and has no cliff hangars.

Nick proposed to Addie first when he was just five years old, however they have remained best friends throughout their lives.

After having to quit colleague to help her grandmother (who when raised her her parents dumped her there )after a stroke 9 years ago, she has been made homeless by her greedy mother and aunt who want the expensive house to sell. I t didn't matter that the house was left to Addie in her grandmothers will.

Nick needs to get married for his job to make him appear safer as a personal bodyguard and less of a hot single man who likes sex.

Emily, the friend that Addie has been living with put them into a competition to win a honeymoon but send them off without all of the details. It appears that their honeymoon, new clothes and expensive resort come with a price. A reality TV show they are staring in.

Upon reconnecting properly, but both come to a startling realisation as they have a good time, relax in the sunshine with a very sweet and supportive staff member who looks after Addie very well.

Its a very sweet story with just kissing and not much further, a very clean read for those of you how do not like the erotic or explicit sex scenes in a lot of books nowadays.

I've always like the friends to lovers story arc and this one delivers. Old friends getting hitched in order to settle something in their lives...throw in a reality show based on the honeymoon they just won...insta-goldfish bowl existence. Which in this case puts the glaring spotlight on those feelings they have both hidden/buried/ignored. No rushing into bed, no big no holds barred lust session but a gentle uncovering of those long hidden feelings and a thoughtful falling. Cute, really romantic.

Three different romance books by three different authors share a common theme – from puppy love, true love developed when the protagonists grew up.

In “The Honeymoon Prize” by Melissa McClone, Nick Calhoun and Adalaide Sinclair have known each other since kindergarten. Nick proposed to Adalaide in the playground when they were 5 and she accepted. But as adults, they became just friends, that is, until they decide to have a marriage of convenience for Nick’s career and for Adalaide to have a home. It sounds good on paper, but can they go through with it in practice?

“Finding Home” by Roxanne Snopek brings the readers back to the fictional town of Marietta, Wyoming where fate brings Samara Davis to meet his high school sweetheart Logan Stafford. An abrupt departure 14 years ago ended their young love. As adults, they have to face different obstacles for them to be happy. Can they do it?

“Hero of her Heart” by Lindsey Brookes follows Bethany Warner and Tanner Montgomery whom their mothers arranged their marriage since they were children. Bethany moved away and everyone thought that the arrangement had been null and void. But, is it? Bethany is back and it seems that their mothers will get their wish.

All three books are easy read. And though there are dramatic moments that tug at your heartstrings, all are lighthearted with the expected happy endings.

One of the reasons why romantic books are very popular is because of the optimism inherent in all of them. These three books have them in spades.

The Honeymoon Prize is a sweet story about two friends who have always wondered what it would be like to be together but never acted on their feelings for fear of ruining their friendship. In some ways it was what I expected, but in other ways it wasn't. Nick needed a wife to keep his job and try to prevent the wives of his clients from hitting on him. Who does he ask to be his temporary wife? His best friend, Addie. They have known each other since they were 5 and that's why Nick thinks she'll make the perfect wife. Nick and Addie were entered into a contest by a friend of Addie and won an all expenses paid honeymoon and new wardrobe. The catch that the friend neglected to tell them is the honeymoon was also a reality TV show. Because of the show, the couple is forced to kiss and that leads to their feelings coming to the surface. I really enjoyed this book and give it a strong 4.5 stars. I'll definitely be reading it again.

22604588Nick Calhoun and Adalaide "Addie" Sinclaire have been best friends since they were five years old; through all their ups and downs, the only thing that has remained constant is their friendship. So, when Nick needs a wife of convenience for work, who better to ask than the best friend he's had an on-again off-again crush on, he refuses to act on for the sake of their friendship. Because, nothing can go wrong there right.

Addie is down on her luck, after dropping out of college to take care of her grandmother and then getting kicked out of the family home by her never present greedy relatives, she is now sans family, job and a place to live. When best friend Nick offers her the deal of a lifetime; money to go back to school and a place to live, all for just two little words, how can she say no. It's not like her on-again off-again crush on Nick will be a problem, right?

Well, thanks to a meddlesome friend these two have won an incredible honeymoon vacation prize, there is just one tiny, itty, bitty detail said friend forgot to mention [drum roll please], they are going to be filmed their entire honeymoon for a reality TV show; don't know about you,but this friend is off my Christmas list.

How hard can ten days in paradise be for these two "friends" be when they have to act like they're over the moon in love with each other? Read the book and find out just how good these two are at acting like they're in love.

Nick Calhoune works as a body guard and has enjoyed his single carefree life. He has a great job, makes great money and can travel at anytime he wants because he has no wife and no children. So it comes as surprise to him when his boss gives him the ultimatum to get married or get lost. Nick's boss is tired of getting complaints from their clients about their wives are flirting with Nick. So what does Nick do.. he asks he's best friend to marry him so he can keep his job.

Adalaide Sinclair has spent years of her life taking care of her sick grandmother until she passes away. When Adalaide's family finds out that their grandmother has passed away they kick her out of the house leaving her with no money, no health insurance and no home. So when Nick asks her to marry him and be his wife in name only Adalaide pushes all her childhood dreams of a fairy tale wedding and says I do to her best friend.

I really like this book. Adalaide and Nick have been friends for so long and fought the attraction they have for each other. When the camera crews show up some of those fake kisses and candle light dinners start to feel very real. Great book nothing like a little tropical romance to get the blood pumping, the heart strings tugging and the tears flowing for Nick and Adalaide.

Friends to lovers in this lovely sweet romance. The story itself is well written if a bit short for my tastes. The characters were sweet and engaging. There was sexual tension, however the promise was never fulfilled. I would categorize this book as a gentle read with a sweet story and a satisfying happily ever after, It is book 3 in a series, and I had not read the others. I did not feel lost or cheated at all.
