Description

** ADVANCED READER COPY **

I have a story to tell, a story I promised never to tell. Hell, it isn't even one I wanted to live through. I just can't keep it inside anymore... now that they're both gone. I have to tell My Story.

Rachel Porter tells her sons about the love of her life, about their father and about their life together. This novella charts the story of the beginning of the Porter family through the Vietnam War, too many losses and a new beginning. It's a tale her sons won't forget, and one that could change them for all time.

NOTE: This is a short novella written as part of the Home series. You can read this prior to reading other books in the series.

I received this book from the author for an honest opinion.

Well after reading book 1, I was very excited to read Rachel's story, We got to see why she was so angry at Davis enlisting in the military in the first book after reading this story. We also understand why Rachel and her husband were not living under the same roof after reading this story.

Rachel is an amazing character. She has endured ALOT of things in her young life. She has 2 best friends, Thomas and Robert. She falls head over heals in love with Thomas and they plan alife together until......tragedy. Rachel is trying to move on but just can't. Robert returns and helps her. She has learned that his feelings for her are a little more then friendly.

Rachel is still trying to figure out life when BOOM Another Tragedy. OMG this poor woman.........she leans on Robert and realizes that she loves her best friend. Their love isnt the wild and crazy passion that she had with Thomas but this is a safe and cherished love from Robert. A man that she has grown up with and faced life with.

I really enjoyed Rachel's story and was super sobbing when Rachel read "a letter" during the story...OMG so emotional!!
