Description

Corporate analyst, Ivy Bishop, intends spending Christmas holed up in an isolated Montana ranch house with only an abandoned puppy for company. When the festive season ends her broken heart might just have had just enough time to heal.

Ex-rodeo rider, Rhett Dixon, has put his playing days behind him. He has something to prove. Despite being the first son in three generations of ranchers, he is determined to succeed in ranching on his own merits.

But when Rhett’s new neighbor proves to be far-too-pretty and far-too-
compassionate, his single-minded focus deserts him. And the more time Ivy spends with the workaholic, blue-eyed cowboy next door the more she realizes her heart isn’t actually broken – yet.

Yet another 'short story' I can't find any wrong in. Very heart-warming. Short and sweet and it WILL put you in the winter holiday season mood!

Part of The Wildflower Ranch Series, “Her Mistletoe Cowboy” shines the spotlight on Rhett Dixon, former rodeo rider turned rancher and Ivy Bishop, Marietta’s prodigal daughter.

Returning to a town she has never been except in the stories told by her grandfather, Ivy Bishop thought of Marietta as place to regroup before she returns to the corporate world. But her sabbatical was turning out to be not as quiet as she hoped it would be. Rhett Dixon just makes her hot and bothered!

Two people trying to find where in the world they belong found out that they don’t have to look far for it.

“Her Mistletoe Cowboy” is a sweet and easy read, perfect to curl up to during a cold winter day. The book is Rated T for Teens. There are no sex scenes in the book, though it is implied.

Her Mistletoe Cowboy is a hot, sexy, and romantic read that will heat up your holidays! Alissa Callen has an extraordinary talent will hook readers in all the time! Her novel’s plot is intoxicating from the beginning to end! Ivy Bishop is a corporate analyst that ends up alone on Christmas with an adorable puppy that was abandoned. She is still on the mend from a broken heart and it isn’t until she meets a certain man that makes her realize her heart wasn’t quite as broken. This one man could break her heart or fix it. Will this man who finally has decided to put his playing days behind him, fall in love with Ivy? How does this hard working cowboy, try to ignore the one beautiful woman who has him constantly distracted? I definitely recommend reading this novel! Once you start reading you won’t want to put it down! Overall, I rate this spectacular Christmas Romance novel a 5 out of 5 stars!

Festive and sweet, this tale of two people finding themselves and each other is a lovely way to spend a dark winter evening. You may end up craving cookies and gingerbread, though, so stock up in preparation. I look forward to seeing which Wildflower Ranch is up next.

This was the first book of Alissa Callen's and I am already adding her to my to be read list. She develops her characters to the point that you want to know what will happen next. Ivy and Rhett's relationship developed at the perfect pace for two people mourning loved ones that they had lost in the last year and are gun shy from past relationships that have not worked out.

She also brings in secondary characters with stories that grab you and make you want the next book. I look forward to reading more from The Wildflower Ranch Series

I quite enjoyed this book. It’s a lighthearted holiday love-story about two people with some baggage but they seem to find their way through it all (with some help from some mistletoe). I loved how Ivy and Rhett took care of each other. They both think they want to be alone yet find themselves drawn together. If you're looking for a sweet holiday read with a sexy cowboy look no further. I received an ARC from the publishers through Net Galley in exchange for an honest review.

This was such a perfectly sweet book. Ivy and Rhett had something very special between them. I loved that they connected so well. They became friends first and then their relationship simply blossomed from there.

The side stories regarding the death of Rhett's mom and the tension associated with his father, as well as Ivy's broken engagement and her new lease on life added texture to the story.

I liked Rhett's sisters. They seemed so interesting. I would love to read about their stories. Also, my heart broke for his dad. I was happy that Ivy put a fire under him and called his bluff.

Her Mistletoe Cowboy was a lovely story, all in all.

This is the third novella in the Montana Born Christmas series. Each book can be read as a stand-alone. I love these Christmas novellas. They just put me in the holiday spirit and make me want to decorate the tree and drink eggnog!

Ivy Bishop is a corporate analyst. Rhett Dixon is an ex-rodeo rider. Both of them have baggage. Both of them are recovering from it. Neither of them is looking for a relationship. Isn’t that always the way it happens?

Ivy is spending the holidays in an isolated Montana ranch house with no one but her puppy, Milly. A victim of a frozen lock on the front door, after driving three days to get there in the first place, Ivy approaches the smaller house on the ranch property, and encounters Rhett Dixon - who comes to her rescue. Rhett gets Ivy inside the house, but they soon discover that there is no power. There are enough sparks between these two to light up the place. Well, maybe their hearts haven’t totally turned to stone after all. Problem is – neither of them are willing to give into their attraction.

Ivy realizes after spending more and more time with Rhett that her heart isn’t totally frozen. Good to know. It is an interesting diversion to observe these two characters as they come to grips with the feelings they both harbor for each other. Alissa Callen gets to the heart of the matter in short order. She has the ability to take you into the story. You feel like you are a part of it. I highly recommend this sweet holiday read. I think you’ll enjoy it as much as I did.

Wonderful, lovely, story about Ivy, who moves back to Montana to discover herself after quitting her job and trying to find her roots. Rhett is working on part of the ranch that he purchased from her family. Both rebounding, they discover a little holiday magic along the way. It honestly makes you want to cry at points because of the hurt both of them feel from their past. Great story.

*** I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review ***

Her Mistletoe Cowboy is book #3 in the Montana Born Christmas and I enjoyed reading it like the rest of the books in this great series.

We first met the hero Rhett Dixon in Cherish Me, Cowboyand he didn't leave the best impression but I'm happy to say that after reading His Mistletoe Cowboy Rhett really redeemed himself.

Rhett made a promise on his mother's grave to change is behaviour and to put his playing days behind and he's doing really good in his ranch until Ivy Bishop comes to spend Christmas in the house next to his.

As soon as Rhett sees Ivy he's attracted to her but he has no time for distractions and he can also feel that Ivy is not ready for a relationship.

Ivy came to Montana to heal her broken heart and to come to terms with the death of her grandparents and the last thing she is looking is romance but her plans soon change when she meets Rhett.

I really enjoyed reading about Ivy and Rhett, I loved seeing how Rhett changed and became a mature and responsible man that is trying to make past mistake right.

I enjoyed reading about Ivy and how she was trying to find a new path in life after breaking up with her fiance and quiting her job since her fiance was also her boss.
Ivy was planning to spend all her time indoors baking her grandma's holiday recipes but she soon discover the joy of being part of the community and especially spending time with her neighbor Liam.

It was great to see characters from previous books and reading more about Christmas in Montana

I was glad to see Rhett receive his own story in Her Mistletoe Cowboy. His wayward ways are in the past, which I was glad to see after the trouble he got into with Cherish Me, Cowboy. Alissa Callen has shown him to be the hardworking rancher that he was raised to be and now he is ready for a HEA even if he doesn’t know it. This is a character that I found endearing. I think Ivy is just what he needed as well as he is what this city girl needs. The author shows us that friendship can be built upon sharing cookies, which can lead to love. Her Mistletoe Cowboy is not a long book but a very satisfying HEA story for a reformed cowboy.

I have enjoyed all the books I have read in this Wildflower Ranch series and look forward to the next. I also like the unique idea of the ranches named by wildflowers of the Montana area in which they are located.

Ivy moves home to Marietta to have a quite Christmas with her puppy and to make a new start in life. Rhett is her neighbor on the ranch, very hard working. Neither is looking for a relationship but their as an instant attraction. Love happens when you least expect it.
This is a sweet Christmas romance to get you into the holiday mood. I received this book from NetGalley but enjoyed it so much that I bought a copy.

Oh my, I'm starting to think, Marietta, Montana is the place to be over Christmas time.
Another charming, Christmas story with cowboys, puppies, baking and Marietta Christmas stroll to be enjoyed. It is a really delightful and adorable story of ancestors, heritage, community, Christmas spirit, romance and love.
Both Ivy and Rhett are healing from lost of parental figures. They have a lot of resistance towards a (new) relationship, and are fighting against the attraction and pull they feel for each other. Their love story is kept rather clean, and is inspiring.
Just another heartfelt tale of love conquering it all ~ Four spoons!

I loved catching up with Rhett and his story. I love love love Milly anytime you can take and put an animal in a story even if its just a little bit but give the animal a personality and it can make a story that much better. This story really put me in the Christmas spirit I can not wait. I loved Ivy I loved her sweet spirit and her feisty attitude. She has such a sweet and kindred spirit and really opened Rhett's spirit to many things. If you are looking for a quick read full of spirit this is the book for you

Loved it! So glad Rhett finally got his HEA. When Ivy Bishop shows up on the Rose Crown she is just looking for a little peace and quiet to heal from a very bad breakup. But sexy neighbor Rhett Dixon has her brain going a little crazy and thinking maybe being alone is all it's cracked up to be. When Rhett bought the land surrounding the Rose Crown he vowed to turn over a new leaf and live up to his mother's expectations, after all he had promised her on her deathbed that he would. But the tempting Ivy Bishop is making that hard! This is a great story filled with the hope and love of the holiday season and new beginnings for two great characters. Couldn't put this one down. I highly recommend it.

good sweet romance when romance was the last thing either of them was looking for. Ivy & Rhett's story is very sweet with the way that he looks out for her in her new home. Ivy has come to her new house to heal from the death of her grandparents & the break up with her fiancé & Rhett is trying to get his ranch fixed up before spring & the delivery of his cattle, as well as getting over the death of his mother & the general hate that his father has towards him for not accepting the family ranch as the 1st born male in 3 generations. Their friendship deepens & they both have feelings for the other but won't admit them. It's not until Ivy is thrown from a horse into a freezing creek that Rhett realizes his fear of losing her & Ivy realizes the way he takes care of her that he does care & allows her to create an intimate opportunity after which she has her expected meltdown which Rhett takes the wrong way. Rhett makes it hard for himself to believe that she really cares & Ivy is now going to push harder to make him believe. This is a great series & I've enjoyed reading all the books in it so far & look forward to more. Will also be looking for more from this author.

Ivy Bishop is a successful corporate analyst based in Atlanta, orphaned as a child and brought up by her grandparents; she arranges to buy her grandfather’s childhood home as a surprise. Sadly her grandparents pass away before she can reveal what she has done; When her engagement to her two-timing fiancé breaks down she decides to go to the property and spend Christmas alone baking her grandmother’s recipes as she works out what her next move is going to be. As you would expect things don’t go according to plan, starting with adopting an abandoned puppy and meeting her hunky next door neighbour. Rhett Dixon is also trying to start his life anew after straying onto the wrong side of the tracks for a while and he is not looking for a relationship any more than Ivy is – so of course you just know it is going to happen. What I enjoy is watching how all the hurdles are overcome for them to maybe get to a happily ever after.

HER MISTLETOE COWBOY is a wonderful feel good Christmas novella; it is a quick read but author Allissa Callen manages to bring the main characters alive on the pages, set up the relationships with the support cast quite vividly, oh and the descriptions of the town and Christmas celebrations are wonderful.

I certainly recommend this book.

Callen Cooks Up a Sweet Holiday Romance

This novella is an enjoyable holiday read. Ivy is taking some time to heal over losing the grandparents that raised her, and ex-rodeo rider Rhett is trying to prove he’s over his wild ways, but also needs to reconcile with a loved one. Healing and romance is just next door for these two, with lots of heat, but no explicit sex, just implied. Ivy’s way of coping is to cook up her grandmother’s favorite dessert recipes each day, which really makes you want to head to your own kitchen and cook for a while, or else head to your local bakery.

Here comes another first for me – Alissa Callen. And she caught my interest with my first read of her WildFlower Ranch Series.

Winter and silver skies, tinsel and lights, hot chocolate and gingerbread, mistletoes and Christmas trees, second chances and love – is what “Her Mistletoe Cowboy” is all about. Corporate Analyst, Ivy Bishop comes away to the little town of Marietta to heal her heart and decide the next phase of her life. Falling into the magic of Christmas and she never expects to get a surprise package of love in the sexy Rhett Dixon.

Rhett Dixon happens to be her knight in shining armor, when she needed help the first time she couldn’t get into her ancestral home and lands on the threshold of Rhett Dixon. Ex- Rodeo rider Rhett has some ghosts to exorcise and a promise that needs to be fulfilled. Ivy was never a part of his plan, and yet once he sees her, all he can think is of her.

With a past connecting both Rhett and Ivy, with sparks igniting between them, and stolen kisses under the mistletoes, both get carried away to a magical land called love. Alissa Callen does such a charming job with Rhett and Ivy. Sometimes it’s so lovely to read stories with just the protagonists and just a handful of supporting characters.

This is a wonderful love story of two people, believing in second chances and trusting each other to get past their insecurities and build a future. Very warm, sweet and a perfect happy read!

The Montana Born books have been endlessly enjoyable. This one is like a meringue: tasty but melts in your mouth and it's gone. It's a puff piece made with peppermint.

Ivy's come home to her grandparents' ranch minus the grandparents and the fiance she had. She's alone for the holidays and kind of wants to stay that way. There's a lot of disappointment and sadness.

Rhett is making a go of it on his own. He's stubborn and wounded and has made some really bad choices. His family is a patchwork of interesting characters who fill out this book nicely. They are definitely the peppermint in this meringue. His Dad's taking curmudgeon to the n-th degree after the death of his wife and is busy playing the invalid bossing around one of his daughters, alternately growling at and ignoring Rhett, and being angry at his other daughter. Rhett is sweet but guarded, trying to do too many things at once: start his own ranch, be responsible, deal with his family, patch up old friendships, and not fall in love with Ivy.

But Christmas has it's own ideas and the Christmas Stroll and some vintage ornaments (as well as a whole lot of cookies) make the time a whole lot sweeter. When the holidays are over, Ivy and Rhett may have found the sweetest thing of all.

This was a quick, very enjoyable read with a Happy Ever After Ending.

Rhett is a retired rodeo cowboy who is trying to make his life right. He does not get along with his cantankerous father and his mother recently died. He has two sisters he loves, but they are busy with their own lives.

Ivy is a city girl who has come to Marietta Montana to grieve. She recently lost the grandparents who raised her and has just broken her engagement to her business partner. She arrives at Rose Crown Ranch for Christmas. She recently purchased the main house and a little property at an auction. This was where her grandfather grew up.

When Ivy arrives, the door lock is frozen and the power has not been turned on. She turns to the small cabin for help. When Rhett sees this frozen city girl with a little dog in her coat, he is smitten. Both Ivy and Rhett are trying to heal and do not need any complications, but can your heart override those convictions. A wonderful story about family ties and emotions, as well as grief, healing and friendship.
