Featured Reviews

This is a really sweet story about a girl trying to understand the concept of love. The illustrations are beautiful and the words are tender. I really enjoyed this book.

This is a very sweet little book that can help kids understand a very confusing emotion. My daughter (5) loved the illustrations and the hunt for love as Minimoni was searching for it. She liked that Minimoni was in the cupboards and everything. The dynamic design, with one page flipping the book, and the way Minimoni moves about the pages, kept my daughter engaged. She loved Minimoni wondering if she was in love with spaghetti, and the poor cat getting smothered with kisses. The book opened up some discussion for how we feel and express love, and also how it compares to other emotions. How choosing love is the best option, and how love can look different depending on the situation. The book brings up many questions that kids might have, and allows them to be open without a direct answer. It allows the kids to think and explore and find their own way without platitudes or strong arming or trying to fit things in a box. The illustrations are very well done, and help explain and move the story along, and have just enough imagination included to really grab kids attention (the dragon was a big hit). We read this ebook through NetGalley.
