I must confess that I read book 2, loved it, then went back and read book 1. I think you would enjoy it more if you read them in order, but I'm also sure that you would enjoy them as standalones too. To give you a glimpse into the series, it's about the Walsh Family. The siblings are partners and therefore spend every day together in the office. Their relationship is very strong and they love each other, but they give each other hell on a daily basis. They refer to themselves as 'the tribe'. It's pretty hilarious to sit in on their weekly meetings as they review their current projects while making fun of each other. Secrets are pretty hard to keep in that group and any embarrassing facts will be shared with glee. They also have a family secret, one that they share among themselves, but keep hidden from others. Every day it gets harder and harder to live with that secret that refuses to stay hidden. It keeps infecting their lives and causing pain that they can't escape. Each book in this series is about one of the Walsh siblings. This story is about Matthew & Lauren. They met when she consulted him regarding a project that she was working on. Of course when he found out she was a teacher and saw her sexy curves in her pencil skirt and stilettos he started having "naughty schoolteacher" fantasies. She is a very driven women that pushes herself non-stop to accomplish her goals and therefore she has no time for relationships. She's not interested in dating. However; when she sees him for the first time she had a hard time remembering what her goals were, other than him...naked. I had quite a few giggle-snort moments as I read their thoughts. I love that about this author, she puts me in their heads and it's a fun place to be. I found it amusing that Matthew was thinking about "snugglenaps" and Lauren was thinking, "I wanted a naked nap with Matthew as my blanket." He tells her she's 'bossy' and she tells him he's a 'caveman' and that "you're only allowed to tell me what to do when I'm naked." There's shower sex, wall sex, desk sex, and even window sex so have some ice water nearby to cool you off. The banter between the couple and the siblings is highly amusing. You will fall in love with them, how can you not? I also found the business side of the story interesting. The details regarding restoring buildings and keeping it 'green' while maintaining the historical integrity intrigued me. I look forward to getting to know the other siblings more in future installments.

Gahh, I absolutely loved this book!! This was such a refreshing read. I loved Matthew and Lauren!! I loved that we get a dual POV as well. This is the first book by Kate Canterbury but it def won't be my last. I highly recommend one clicking!!
