Description

Your favourite anti-heroine, Kitty Collins, is back! Expect more wit, sass, and, of course, murder…

'I was rooting for Kitty even as she killed more men (oops!). Funny and twisty in the best of ways' Tasha Coryell

***********************************************

My name is Kitty Collins and I’m a serial killer.

I don’t want to kill. It’s just so hard to resist. Some men really, really deserve it.

Men like Blaze Bundy, an anonymous influencer spreading misogyny online. He’s making it very hard for me to control my murderous urges.

Meanwhile I’m in the South of France to watch my mother marry a man I’ve never met. I should be drinking cocktails and focusing on my tan, not plotting a murder.

But a woman’s work is never done. Surely one more teensy little kill wouldn’t hurt, would it?

*********************************************

'Forget everything else on your TBR because Kitty is back, and she is as feminist, funny and furious as ever… Brent is brilliant at cutting right to the (literal) heart of misogyny, using her trademark acerbic humour' Amy Beashel

'Darkly hilarious… Come for the sharp-tongue prose and pitch-black comedy, stay for the careful dismantling of toxic masculinity' Laurie Elizabeth Flynn

Fans of How to Kill Your Family and Bad Sisters will love this deliciously dark, hilariously twisted new novel from the author of How to Kill Men and Get Away With It and The Murder After the Night Before.

This was a book I didn’t know I needed and I devoured it in a day. All of the characters had such depth to them and were fully developed. I adored the main character, Kitty’s, internal dialogue. I fully identified with the women in her angry women’s support group and feel that most if not all women can identify and understand her reasoning for murder.

I would theorize throughout the book what was going to happen or who was BB and every time I thought I got it right a plot twist would happen or more information was given that had me screaming. The plot twists were unexpected in the best way, and the ending had me in happy tears.

I felt seen by the characters and the author. This truly is a book for all women, especially if you love mysteries and thrillers. I was arguing to myself in defense of Kitty when things went awry and wallowed with her when pitfalls happened.
Love the main characters and will read anything about them that comes in the future.

"Imagine living an entire life without feeling afraid. It’s inconceivable to me."

I support women's rights and sometimes their wrongs, and I 100% support Kitty's wrongs! Kitty Collins is a kitty that always lands on her feet! Our girl gets herself into some tense situations but her badassery always wins in the end.

Thank you to both #NetGalley and Harper 360 for providing me an advance copy of Katy Brent's latest #mysterythriller, I Bet You'd Look Good in a Coffin, in exchange for an honest review.

#IBetYoudLookGoodinaCoffin is book two in the Kitty Collins series, the follow-up to #HowtoKillMenandGetAwayWithIt. While it is possible to read this sequel as a standalone, the characters and callbacks will make much more sense if you read both books in order...Obviously.

Self-proclaimed, female #Dexter and protagonist, Kitty Collins, has been "murder-sober" for a year. Between her perfect relationship with her boyfriend Charlie and the deeper connections she has established with her two best friends, Tor and Maisie, life is good. Well, mostly good, with one minor exception: Blaze Bundy.

Blaze Bundy is an anonymous social media influencer who promotes content that is rife with misogyny, and whose vast following consists of an incel base. Although Kitty is aware these sorts of accounts are a trigger that induces her rage, which in turn, strengthens her desire to murder, she cannot help herself—especially, not after Blaze starts sending her threatening DMs because now it is personal.

The urge to kill again steadily grows when in addition to the Blaze fiasco, her best friend Tor starts dating her therapist, a new member with a horrific backstory joins the AWA, and in a surprise twist, her mother is getting remarried in ten days to a man whom Kitty has never met, which involves a detour to Cannes. The mounting stress becomes overwhelming and Kitty finally snaps, breaking her murder-less streak.

Book two returns with crazier antics, darker undertones, several mystery subplots, and more black comedy than ever. I was genuinely concerned that the sophomore follow-up would not exceed the hilarity and success of book one, but it equally delivered. Personally, I enjoyed the deeper foray into the macabre.

For fans of the series or readers seeking something different, add this novel to your #2025summer reading list stat!

I BET YOU’D LOOK GOOD IN A COFFIN ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️/5. Kitty Collins is back! And she is now a reformed vigilante justice murder! She has stopped murdering, and even given up her social media page of a million followers! She is on the mend! Her estranged mother announces she’s getting married, and Kitty and her boyfriend Charlie are invited to France for the nuptials, but who is her mysterious fiancé? When Kitty begins getting stalked online, too many things feel out of place. This book was super fun, a quick read, a good balance of humor and wit, with real redemption for woman, and issues we face. Just like the first book, I couldn’t put it down, and kept rooting for this anti-hero! Hoping we can get more of Kitty and her redemptive tales.

I received an ARC of this ebook from NetGalley and Harper 360 in exchange for my honest review! How to Kill Men and Get Away With It was one of my favorite reads of 2023 and I was very excited to find out it was getting a sequel. It did not disappoint. This had a gripping storyline, the darkest humor, and a very satisfying ending. One of my favorite book tropes is killing the patriarchy and this book executes that perfectly.

Kitty is back and is trying so hard to be good. Unfortunately, men just don’t know how to stop being dicks and Kitty soon has no choice but to go back to her old tricks. Hiding this part of herself from her love and with her mother getting married, Kitty’s under a lot of stress. Thank God killing people gives her some relief! Snarky, humorous, and some new revelations, this story was another fun one. I love Kitty as a character & I can’t wait for another book featuring her. My only complaint was the over the top stuff towards the end.

First five star book of the year! (I said what I said.)
The pace: Perfection. 🤌🏻
The humor: Laugh out loud!
How an author can write a book about a vengeful vegan serial killer and make it feel like chick lit? Superb sorcery. 👏🏻

Thank you so much to Netgalley and Harper360 for this ARC!

Kitty Collins has decided to make a change in her life. Previously, she'd made it her mission to murder bad men, usually as painfully as possible. After accidentally killing the wrong man and now being in a happy relationship, she decides to just attend women's trauma group meetings instead and swears off her former murderous ways. At one meeting, however, she hears a story about a traumatized young woman who has been victimized by a powerful man and she's unable to control her murderous impulses. She'll be doing the world a favor by getting rid of a predator. At the same time, her estranged mother has suddenly turned up to bring Kitty and her boyfriend Charlie to France for her upcoming wedding, and she's not going to take no for an answer, despite how this might mess up Kitty's murderous routine. Kitty and her mother inherited vast wealth after the death (assisted) of her abattoir owning scumbag of a father. This allows them to wear expensive designer clothing while not having to bother with a pesky job. When Kitty arrives in Cannes, she's immediately suspicious of her mother's fiancé. He's much younger and gorgeous. When Kitty observes him for a while, she notes some even more questionable behavior. Her mother is in love, but it's up to Kitty to make sure a potential bad man doesn't marry her mother. When Charlie is called away for a work emergency and is suddenly ignoring her calls, Kitty's panic and murderous rage will have to find an outlet somewhere. Oh, and she's also being targeted and antagonized by an online misogynist who claims he's going to murder her, so she'll have to get to him first.

I enjoyed the really funny situations and the way Kitty can rationalize even the most outrageous behavior. The only strange thing is that as she's swanning around Cannes planning various evil deeds, she seems to forget quite often that someone is stalking her. I guess since she's been so successful in the murder business it makes her feel invincible. Even though she's very morally questionable, you can't help but root for Kitty to get away with it all!

Such a great book. Couldn't stop reading it. Thank you for my advance reader copy. Can't wait to look up other books from this author.

Never have I read a book simply from it's title but this is the one. I got quite a few laughs over this, and I'm pretty sure I'd wear a t-shirt with this on it. Anyway, this was definitely a book different than any other that I have read, and I enjoyed reading most of it. And I pretty sure you will too. Just remember it's fiction.

I absolutely adored this. It was an absolute blast to read! Once I started, I just didn’t want to stop. Thanks to NetGalley and the publisher for the opportunity to read this ARC!

This book is an absolute blast—dark, funny, and delightfully twisted. Kitty, the main character, gave me major female Dexter vibes, and I loved every second of her sharp wit and killer instincts (literally). The mix of humor and suspense kept me hooked from start to finish. If you love morally complex characters and a fast-paced plot with a wicked sense of humor, this book is a must-read!

Kitty is back at it, and I’ve fallen in love with her all over again. While the first book felt tight and controlled, this version of Kitty leans more into a “things are spiraling, and I’m anxious” vibe. The tension in this book—especially during the final climax—is breathtaking. I was on edge, waiting to see how everything would unfold, and the reveals? Stunning. 10/10 for me.

We finally get to meet Kitty’s elusive yet fabulously lovestruck mother, Carmela, and watch as Kitty’s killing sobriety starts to crack. When she suspects her stepdad-to-be, Gabriel, might just be the Andrew Tate-esque threat lurking in the shadows, all bets are off. Blaze Bundy is at the top of her hit list, and it’s a race to the altar to make sure he’s handled before the vows are exchanged. Normally, I pride myself on guessing plots, but Katy Brent is a master of her craft—just when you think you have it all figured out, she rips the rug from under you. This book is such an amazing escape from the patriarchy that I, too, feel like I’m sunning in the south of France instead of the current American political climate.

I loved Kitty’s journey as she wrestled with her thirst to take out bad men. She’s usually so careful, so I was genuinely shocked at all her slip-ups in this book. Carmela’s quick thinking saves Kitty from herself—just like with her first kill. Her mother and stepdad are fantastic characters, and I’m glad they played such a major role beyond just the wedding. Carmela is so much like Kitty, and watching their relationship evolve was one of my favorite parts. I don’t know why, but she’s giving me serious Parent Trap mom vibes.
The murders in this book felt far more out of Kitty’s control, and I really hope we get a follow-up where her newfound family helps usher her into her next vigilante era.

This book is a quick, entertaining read full of wit and humor. Kitty is a relatable character, and while her methods are, let’s say, questionable, they’re motivated by good intentions. The story balances dark humor with macabre moments, especially when Kitty channels her anger at the type of man she despises. With plenty of twists and turns, the book keeps you hooked until the end.

Oh Kitty! I was highly entertained while reading this. Kitty really knows how to take care of men (or anyone) who doesn’t need to be a part of society anymore. I love the dark humor and lightheartedness of this style of writing. I will be following Kitty for more adventures.

I received an ARC of this ebook from NetGalley and Harper 360 in exchange for my honest review!

If this book is not on your TBR list- add it right now. Do NOT wait. This was an easy 4.5 star read for me. Kitty Collins is back. She is still as feminist as ever, funny, and very angry. I literally could not put this book down. I read it in less than 2 days. Dark, comedic, and a quick read- this book is full of tension, complex emotions, murderous rage. I loved the character development of Kitty, her mother, and other very important characters in the book. For fans of thrillers, and dark humor, this book was a really great sequel to How To Kill Men and Get Away With It.

I am definitely adding both books to my "re-read" list. Thank you to NetGalley and Harper 360, as well as Katy Brent, for the opportunity to review this ARC and I look forward to reading more of her work!

Loved the dark humor and character development in this book! Didn’t see the twist at the end of the book and I did not have Blaze Bundy identified correctly at all. I’m looking forward to reading this author again. Thanks to Netgalley for the digital ARC!

⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

✨Thank you @NetGalley and @harpercollins360 for providing me with an Advanced Reader Copy of this book in exchange for an honest review. And thank you to @but_katy_did_it for always keeping me gluttonously entertained!

✨Kitty Collins is not your average run-of-the-mill serial killer. She’s smart. Fashionable. Popular. An influencer. And sick of everyone’s shit.

✨Having had to curb her murderous rage over the last several months, she’s itching to get back to business. Especially when Blaze Bundy enters her life, a misogynistic Instagram influencer that spouts hatred with every blog post. He would make it easy for her to dip her toe back into murderous waters.

✨Juggling her loving and near perfect boyfriend, Charlie, her very best girlfriends, a delusional mother having a shot-gun wedding, getting back to the influencer scene, and men at every turn testing her ounce-sized patience, Kitty has her hands full.

✨I knew I needed to read this after having loved How To Kill Men And Get Away With It. Think of Finlay Donovan meets female Dexter and you have Kitty Collins, who is filled with a feminist, cynical hatred of all things bad and actually does something about it.
This is funny. This is dark. This is exactly what I needed and what you need to add to your TBR immediately. You will root for Kitty, laugh at her wit, and not want the story to end. In fact, I strive to be Kitty Collins when I grow up 👀
Katy Brent does satirical prose like an Olympian, and I can’t get enough. All the stars!!

I absolutely devoured *I Bet You’d Look Good in a Coffin*! Katy Brent has once again delivered a darkly hilarious and gripping story that’s impossible to put down. This sequel picks up with all the chaotic charm and sharp commentary of the first book, and somehow manages to raise the stakes even further.

The humor in this book is perfectly twisted—witty, sarcastic, and just the right amount of outrageous. I found myself laughing out loud in one moment and holding my breath the next. Brent has a real talent for blending comedy with crime, and it makes for a wildly entertaining ride.

The pacing is relentless in the best way possible. There’s never a dull moment, and each chapter pulls you deeper into the madness. What I appreciated most, though, is that the book doesn’t just entertain—it has something to say. The themes around patriarchy, power dynamics, and the treatment of women in society are woven in seamlessly. It’s sharp, relevant, and adds real depth to the story without ever feeling preachy.

As someone who loved the first book, I was thrilled with how well this one continues the journey. The character development, the callbacks, the growth—it all feels earned and satisfying. Brent manages to balance continuity with freshness, keeping returning readers hooked while still making the story feel exciting and new.

I was lucky enough to receive an advance reader copy from NetGalley and Harper360—huge thanks to both for the opportunity. This book was a complete blast, and I’m already hoping there’s more to come. If you’re into dark humor, fast-paced thrillers, and feminist revenge stories with bite, do not miss this one!

Book: I Bet You’d Look Good In A Coffin
Author: Katy Brent
Publisher: Harper 360
Pub Date: June 10, 2025

How can you not love Kitty Collins? She’s a serial killer but not your ordinary serial killer. She only kills men who deserves it. So what’s not to love? Kitty is filled with murderous and if you are like me and are in menopause then you probably are also. (It’s a joke…calm down Karen.) Katy Brent is the queen of dark humor! Just like her previous two books this is just as dark and hilariously twisted. Kitty makes murder look fun and she is just what I am looking for. Think Finlay Donovan meets Dexter and you have Kitty Collins.

Thank you Harper 360 and NetGalley for this sneak peak! Publication date is June 10, 2025.

First off, thank you NetGalley, Harper 360 and Katy Brent this amazingly hilarious book! It is always a treat to read early release of books and this one was fantastic!

This book is so so fun! I an obsessed with Kitty Collins! She is such a fun character. I love how flawed she is, all the mistakes she makes actually make me love her more. Her inner monologue kept me laughing the entire book. She is witty and sarcastic and honestly, she’s not wrong. Now, her methods are a bit out there, but it certainly makes for very very entertaining books.

This book is fun and fast paced, and the story moves really well. I liked that the story can be dark and twisty but then hilarious the next moment. I loved the character development that Kitty goes through. I really liked that at the beginning she really truly was trying to stop killing people. Kitty truly has a good heart. The backdrop of being in France was a fun change from London. But I loved that we still got all of Kitty’s crazy antics. There were so many twists and turns in the story and Katy definitely kept me guessing which I loved. Overall this was such a great & hilarious read!

Thank you again, to NetGalley and the publishers for this book in exchange for an honest review. And thank you Katy for Kitty Collins and this hilarious stories. I couldn’t get enough!

I previously enjoyed author Katy Brent's "How to Kill Men & Get Away with It" featuring bad-ass anti-heroine Kitty Collins taking down men that "deserve killing" (as she puts it) so I was quite happy to get my hands on the follow-up "I Bet you'd Look Good in a Coffin". Once again we have Kitty out for blood and it's still the same dark & twisty, and snarky adventure in France. We also get a bit of back-story here too - why Kitty is the way she is. Raced through it and enjoyed it. I'm down for another please? My thanks to Net Galley & the publisher for my advance readers copy - greatly appreciate the opportunity to read & review it early.

I adore Kitty Collins, and am so glad she's back with a new story! This one is just as clever as the first, with the same dark humor that I love. The story was clever and I enjoyed Kitty's witty banter. The plot moved quickly, making the book hard to put down. I was shocked by the plot twist at the end of the book. Overall, a great read. Even better than the first in my opinion. Can't wait to read more from the series (which I am hoping is coming based on that ending!)
Thank you to Harper 360 for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

Your favorite female serial-unaliver is back with more wit and feminist rage. Kitty Collins has been trying to do better, but the men keep doing… men things. How can you expect her to hang the knives up for good if they keep being a-holes?

I love Kitty’s dark humor and how relatable this book is. I don’t love the issues it highlights. However, I do appreciate that the writing doesn’t sugarcoat anything.

This next chapter in Kitty’s story gives us a deeper look at her personal struggles and her complicated relationship with her mother. It was easy to connect with her motivations and understand why she goes to such extremes to protect those she cares about. And who doesn’t love a good family moment? The final clean-up scene was fantastic.

Charlie let me down, but maybe he’ll realize his mistake in Book 3… because there is going to be a Book 3, right?👀

Just like How to Kill Men and Get Away With It, I devoured this book.

Thanks to HQ and NetGalley for the advanced digital copy (released January 30th). The physical copy doesn’t release until June 10th, 2025 — and yes, I’ve already pre-ordered it.

Kitty Collins is back! She is a fierce friend and protector so she takes matters into her own hands to get vigilante justice. This is filled with dark humor and strange family bonds but so entertaining. There are some great lines that just make you laugh and appreciate the dysfunctional Collins family. This is all set up for another in the series and I can’t wait to see what happens next. This would work as stand alone but you appreciate it more if you read the first book.

I love this series — and the second installment in Kitty’s story was no disappointment. The perfect mix of trashy fun, splashes of luxury, emotionally compelling characters, a moving motive, and a hot twist.

I BET YOU'D LOOK GOOD IN A COFFIN - OMGosh! There are two books before this one, drats, I missed them. I hurt myself from laughing while reading this entertaining, hilarious, and slightly bloody story. I love the main characters and how family can be supportive. I live the story lines. I live the dialogues. I love the fact that even with all that was going on I was exposed to a lot of self-doubt and head garbage. I did not know this was a series, just slight mentions about past happenings, that it did not matter that this was my first read. OK, so I was slow on the uptake but I was so immersed in the story. Source: Netgalley. 5*

This book is like if Fleabag went full vigilante—and I loved every bloody second of it. Katy Brent serves up petty revenge with a side of killer one-liners in “I Bet You’d Look Good in a Coffin.” The heroine is messy, furious, and fabulous, and watching her unravel while taking down terrible men is equal parts hilarious and cathartic. It’s chaotic, twisted, and wickedly fun. Definitely not your grandma’s murder mystery—unless your grandma’s got a dark side.

4.5/5 stars Only bc you can tell how British these characters are and I'm a cold blooded American >:)

I love Kitty Collins. I hope we get a part 3, I would love to see what happens in her life next. So many more plot lines that I would love to see wrapped up, like Masie and the twins, more on Antionette, and if Charlie ever comes back (surely he forgives his murderous girlfriend, she's the love of his life!)

I really enjoyed Katy Brent’s previous books, so I was really excited to read this one. It was everything I had hoped for! Kitty Collin’s is such a great character. Kitty taking out misogynistic men - what else could be better? I will definitely be recommending this book and her other books as well.

This is a fun, easy read that had me laughing and staying up late to read “just one more chapter”. Having not read Kitty Collin’s #1, I wasn’t sure if I would be missing key information or feel like after reading #2, that the first would be spoiled for me. I’m happy to say that neither is true. I realize flashback scenes in #2 may have given me a lot of the story and how #1 ends, but I don’t really know all the full details and I feel like it will still be an enjoyable read for me.
This story is not free from tense moments, some of which are a bit gory to imagine, but the author does a wonderful job of keeping it well balanced with drama, satire and humor. Through Kitty, this story overall is about how women are treated and how as a whole, society just accepts this and continues to give men a right to do what they do. Kitty sets out to right these wrongs. Are her ways the right way- no, but she also finds ways to make women feel better about themselves, gives them alternative ways other than accepting what they currently have as their normal and helps them to feel safe. Without giving a lot away- I really enjoyed the family aspect at the end of the story, laughed many times here- and I’m hoping for future Kitty Collin’s stories to include more of this.
Thank you Harper 360 publishing for providing this book for review consideration via NetGalley. All opinions are my own.

some parts were a little predictable, but most of the book was not. every time i thought i knew a twist, something else came along and threw me off. it was still super dark and hilarious and everything i expected from katy brent. i don’t know how someone can make murder so hilarious. i love kitty and i need to know what’s next!

Kitty Collins is back and trying very hard to control herself and her habits to right certain wrongs and focus on enjoying life with her beloved Charlie. When Kitty receives an invitation to her mother's wedding (she didn't even know she was seeing anyone) in France of all places and the heinous misogynistic influencer who she is, well....stalking begins posting things that are a little too familiar too Kitty, her self-control goes out the window.

It is very hard to not like Kitty even though her vigilante hobbies are concerning. This book introduces us to Kitty's (rather delightful) mother, and we see how very much Charlie loves her. This is one of my favorite new series and I would recommend it to readers who are fans of Finlay Donovan, Stephanie Plum, and Meddelin Chen.

This book is a powerful, raw, and unflinching look at misogyny in the age of social media. Told through the eyes of Kitty, who navigates threats, toxic masculinity, and personal struggles, it’s equal parts heartbreaking, darkly funny, and gripping. Kitty is a flawed but fiercely relatable protagonist — a woman wrestling with anger and trauma, and yes, she’s also a serial killer, which adds a darkly wacky twist to the story.

The author doesn’t shy away from the harsh realities women face today, from online abuse to systemic injustice, but balances the heaviness with moments of humor that keep the narrative engaging. The tension builds to some sharp, unexpected twists that had me hooked from start to finish.

Quotes like ‘It’s not fun to be a woman. No matter how much we think the world has changed, it really hasn’t,’ and Kitty’s raw reflections on patriarchy and rage, make this book a deeply thought-provoking read.

If you want a book that tackles serious themes with honesty, humor, and edge, this one’s for you.

I loved this dark, twisty, and hilarious book! I dove mid series and I was ecstatic to discover this can be read as a standalone. I do plan on circling back to the first book because I adore Kitty! The twists and turns were so good! Just when I thought I had figured something out, I was completely wrong.

A very special thanks to HQ Digital and Harper Collins for the complimentary copy.

I was a big fan of Dexter before it ended terribly and that show made me exhausted by serial killer stories from the POV of of the killer so I was wary to get into this. I was wrong! This was great. It was darkly twisted and darkly funny. I loved all these characters and the depth they all had. It was nothing I was expecting and I hope we get more of this series soon.

This is the follow up novel to How to Kill Men and Get Away With It. FMC Kitty Collins is admittedly a serial killer but only because some men deserve it. Her latest victim is an online misogynistic influencer just begging to be killed. A witty, creative, fast paced novel that was impossible to put down until the end.

Great book! I thoroughly enjoyed reading this one! This book had a bit of everything! It had suspense, intrigue, action, murder, mystery, a fantastic who done it and some crazy twists and turns! The storyline was very interesting and kept me glued to my Kindle! I highly recommend reading this book!. Thank you NetGalley and the publisher for sharing this book with me!

Why yes, I would describe this as a light-hearted murder book. It's not quite "cozy", a bit too chic for that, and I guess in cozy murder books, usually you aren't reading the perspective of (and cheering for) the murderer. But obvi Kitty is killing for good here, and her victims deserve it! (Except that one...)

She does a bit of soul-searching in this book, and I think ultimately I enjoyed this book more than the first. It's all a bit far-fetched, but you have to admire Kitty for unabashedly fighting the patriarchy and using her gifts for. "good".

I enjoyed book one and was looking forward to book two -- and it did not disappoint! I LOVED this even more than the first book. Just when I think I have it figured out with Kitty, I don't and there is another twist. Such a fun read.

Kitty Collins is back in I Bet Yo'd Look Good in a Coffin by Katy Brent.

"Kitty is a serial killer but is really trying to stop. But a new influencer - Blaze Bundy - is spouting vile misogyny online. It's making it hard for Kitty to keep plotting another murder. She travels to the South of France for her mother's wedding. She should be working on her tan - but a woman's work is never done."

Surprisingly, there are multiple good guys in this one. But there are more men that are misogynistic jerks. And Kitty is willing to do what it takes to make sure they don't hurt anyone else. She ends up in a compromising position but finds some allies at an unexpected time. The second act moves a little slower but there's a good finish. The sad thing is that you probably know men like Brent describes. This is very dark humor - more rage fiction. You'll enjoy being inside Kitty's head.

Katy Brent is the queen of feminist rage, and I am here for it. Her books are dark, twisted, witty, and somehow have me sort of, kind of rooting for a serial killer. I loved the introduction of new characters in this book. Her relationship with her mother was glorious. The book had me hooked (and chuckling) from start to finish. This is the second book in a series and, while it can be read as a stand alone, I highly suggest you start with the first book (which is also amazing).

Kitty is a fabulously wealthy socialite with a dark secret. She is addicted to murdering terrible men who do terrible things. She’s truly trying to stop when she finds herself in France, along with a famous manosphere influencer who wants to kill her. The problem, however, is that she doesn’t know exactly who he is.

4.5 stars rounded up.

Kitty Collins is celebrating her 30th birthday with her boyfriend Charlie and her two best friends. Kitty is quite wealthy as her father owned a meat processing plant leaving her and her mother, Carmella Collins, quite wealthy.

Kitty spends a lot of time on social media and one man who goes by the name of Blaze Bundy and is masked is a huge misogynist and a braggart about how he uses and abuses women. This infuriates Kitty and she wants nothing more than to do him in. But she has promised herself that she is not going to kill anymore men as she already has 11 notches on her belt. But this man seems to know who she is and taunts her on social media with hints at killing her.

When her mother says she is getting married again, Kitty thinks she’s nuts. The woman lives in France and the wedding is to be held there. Kitty doesn’t want to go but Charlie and her mother force her to go. There she meets her mother’s fiance, Gabriel, and knows he isn’t who her mother thinks she is. When it dawns on Kitty who the man really is, she is terrified.

This story is twisty, violent, gory, and funny. Getting rid of annoying men is what Kitty does and she has been successful at it. Stating this isn’t giving out a spoilers - just fact. It’s the story itself that is at times sad, humorous and simply real. Do give it a read and enjoy!

“I can come to a sensible and measured decision about whether I need to do anything about him or not. And by ‘do anything’, I mean 𝘳𝘦𝘱𝘰𝘳𝘵 him to the proper body.
𝘖𝘳 𝘮𝘢𝘬𝘦 𝘩𝘪𝘮 𝘢 dead 𝘣𝘰𝘥𝘺.
No. Not that.” 😂😂

This book was laugh out loud funny and so enjoyable. Kitty is a hoot and I liked watching her try to rationalize her murderous feelings. 💀 ⚰️

“I feel excitement ripple through my veins. I’m going to kill him.
I’m going to kill him tonight.
Fuck sobriety.” 🔪 🩸

Kitty is like the female Dexter doing us ladies a favor by ridding the world of the bad men. The men who hurt women. And I mean…yes, we know it’s wrong, per se. But I did root for Dexter and I was also rooting for Kitty. You get em, girl!

Thank you to Netgalley and @HarperCollins360 for the ARC in exchange for my honest thoughts.

You know how one of the keys to becoming sober is not to surround yourself with temptation? Well, what if your temptation was walking the streets, on your social media feeds, on your television, and maybe even delivering your take-out?

This is what I love the most about Katy Brent’s Kitty Collins books: wish fulfillment. There are awful men in this world–men I’d love to see pay for their actions but also know will never be punished. Kitty Collins? She not only can and will punish them, she’ll do it while wearing Comme de Garcons and Jimmy Choos and then touch up her YSL lipstick on the way out the door.

Yes, you will need to read How to Kill Men and Get Away With It to understand any of this book, but that’s not a hardship, because both of these books are brilliantly funny, terribly insightful, and just a little heartbreaking. I’d seek out some information on CW/TWs somewhere online because Kitty needs a reason to be angry and men do give her an on-page reason to be so, but everything is treated with care and has a reason. I can’t recommend Kitty’s style of justice enough. 4⭐️

didn’t realize when I snagged this book that it was the second in a series, but it can be read as a stand alone with no confusion in my opinion.

Kitty finds herself in France trying to figure out who the misogynistic jerk is that is messing with her. Will she be able to find him and take him out before he gets her?

The perfect blend of humor and mystery, with very little darkness or gore. Highly recommend! Looking forward to reading the rest of the series

“It very much isn’t part of my agreed recovery plan. The one I agreed with myself: to give up killing men, no matter how much they deserve it.”

“A body count of 11 – and I mean, actual bodies, not sexual partners – really should be more than enough for one woman.”

“Somebody needs to keep an eye on this mother fucker.”

“There’s a lot to be said for the restorative power of orgasms.”

“Do some internal work. Ask yourself why no woman wants to be with you. Could it be because you’re a piece of shit? Has that crossed your mind? Maybe try 𝘕𝘖𝘛 being a piece of shit.”

I was offered a copy of this one as a #gift in exchange for an honest review. I wasn’t expecting a whole lot and went in blind. I am now OBSESSED with Kitty Collins and am going back to read the 1st book.

This book was soooo much fun. It’s all girl power, f the patriarchy, murdery vibes, family drama. It’s like fusion of Finlay Donovan mixed with DEXTER!!!! It’s perfection!

I loved all of the characters in their various roles. I loved how I didn’t know who to trust and felt like I was watching Kitty Collins’ back right alongside her. The characters all played off of each other so well. The chemistry between the characters was just done so well. You get some humor and all the justice.

I haven’t been this excited about a series in a long time. I just hope there are going to be more books so I can see how the characters continue their journey especially given new found alliances. I loved the common ground Carmella and Kitty finally find. It’s as heartwarming as a murder book gets.

The way the book ended I’m so hopeful that we are getting another in this series!

📚 E-ARC BOOK REVIEW 📚

I Bet You'd Look Good In A Coffin
By Katy Brent
Publication Date: June 10, 2025
Publisher: Harper360

📚MY RATING: ⭐⭐⭐⭐✨
(Rounded Up To 5⭐)

Thank you so much to Harper360 and NetGalley for this #gifted e-ARC in exchange for my honest review!

📚MY REVIEW:

I absolutely adored Kitty Collins when I first met her in Katy Brent's How To Kill Men and Get Away With It last year. Even my orange fur baby Oscar enjoyed it (check out my Instagram for photographic proof 😹). So when I heard Kitty was returning for more 'adventures' this year, I was beyond excited! And when I was approved for the e-arc on NetGalley, I IMMEDIATELY devoured it from cover-to-cover in just a few hours. Take it from me: Kitty Collins DOES NOT disappoint!

We find our favorite anti-heroine taking a sabbatical, of-sorts, from last year's murderous escapades of ridding the world of men who take advantage of women in the most pathetic of ways. Kitty is happy in a serious relationship with her boyfriend Charlie, declaring herself "murder-sober." Enter Blaze Bundy, an anonymous misogynistic influencer on social media who is REALLY tempting Kitty to forego her sobriety. Because honestly, one more teensy little kill won't hurt, right?

Ahhh! I just LOVE everything Katy Brent writes! Her wit and brilliantly dark humor makes me laugh out loud, and this book was no exception. I was thoroughly entertained from the first line till the last, and I cannot get enough of Kitty's antics. I know it's probably frowned upon by some people to root for a character like Kitty, but honestly, do I care? No. Not one lil bit. Her humor, her sarcasm, her witty banter and internal dialogue -- I'm a huge fan of all of it. This is the second Kitty Collins book, and while you could probably read this one first, you really don't want to miss your chance to learn what made Kitty into the murdering goddess she is in the first book!

If you love books with sarcastic wit, dark humor, and the most incredibly badass female main character you could ever ask for, you've simply GOT to meet Kitty Collins. In fact, if you haven't read a Katy Brent book yet, I'd encourage you to drop EVERYTHING else you're doing and pick up one of her books. Go on, you can thank me later. I Bet You'd Look Good In A Coffin is out now!

Murder Sober. Feminist rage. Stalking. Dismemberment. With terms and topics like these it should come as no surprise that Katy Brent’s follow up to the HOW TO KILL MEN AND GET AWAY WITH IT is just as dark and twisted (maybe more so) than the original.

I BET YOU’D LOOK GOOD IN A COFFIN reunites the reader with Kitty Collins who is doing her darnedest to remain Murder Sober. She’s even joined a group called Angry Women Anonymous to try to get a handle on her murderous rage. It’s a struggle because *patriarchy, duh* but she’s doing it until she learns of a lecherous pig taking advantage of underage girls. What’s a vigilante murderer to do?

And so begins another severely unhinged killing spree courtesy of our girl, Kitty. Things get complicated (like murder is not complicated enough) because Kitty has a stalker who’s tormenting her, her mom is getting married to a man whose intentions Kitty doubts, her BFF is not speaking to her, and her boyfriend might be cheating. Yes, that’s a lot. It’s no wonder Kitty kills.

WAIT! I have some issues here. In the first book, Kitty kills by accident and kills again while trying to cover her tracks. She has a conscience. By book two it’s almost as if she takes pleasure in ridding the world of horrid men. Yes, they are horrid and, yes, the world is better off without them, but her joy is just a bit too deranged for comfort. At some point there was just too much disbelief for me to suspend.

Did I like this book? I sure did. I laughed out loud at inappropriate sections and found myself swept up in the wickedness. But, also, was I uncomfortable with liking this book? I sure was. What does it say about me as a person that vengeance and brutality made me laugh? Who knows.

If you can handle dark, twisted, unhinged, comical, out of control feminine rage; give this book a shot. If that makes you squeamish or sounds too close to reality, it may not be for you. Either way, I have a feeling book three is on the horizon and I will absolutely read it.

Thank you to NetGalley and HarperCollins360 for the advance copy. All opinions are my own.
