Description
The queen has won her crown. Now, she must prove she’s worthy to wear it.
Six months ago, Teia Carthan seized the throne against all odds. She sacrificed everything—her morals, her friends, even the spark of love—to hear the whisper of her new title: Highness.
Now, Teia sets sail across the Dark Sea to warn her cousin, the Shaylani emperor, of a threat that could doom the Five Kingdoms: Cornelius Lehm lives, and he’s planning to raise the Serkawr. But as she begins a furious journey across Shaylan, Teia knows she needs help to defeat Lehm—even if it means working with the very rebels she betrayed to claim her crown.
Trust is a fragile thing, and Teia crushed it beneath her heel. Can she earn the Dawnbreakers’ friendship once again? Or will the consequences of her treachery win out, dragging all she’s fought for like a wave to the depths?

I want to shout from the roof tops how much I loved this book, Tiffany does such a great job of bringing it to life it makes my heart race.
I'm so glad I was chosen to ARC read both of the books.

This book was so good! I devoured it so fast, I legit could not put it down! I hope for more from this author soon!

I was so excited to see this on netgalley (I somehow didn't know the sequel existed and screamed when I saw it) that I IMMEDIATELY devoured it. This book absolutely holds up to the first in the series while expanding on a lot of the concepts and world building in ways I was ITCHING to see in the first book. I loved getting to see more of this world and to meet new characters, and the pacing was much quicker and easy than before. I found falling into the story effortless and it was so great to return to these characters and see them brought to new heights.
Wang is a new stand out author, with a fresh voice and the ability to grab a reader from the very start and never let go. I'm so grateful to have read this duology early and I can't wait to see what this author does next!

I was able to snag an eARC from net gallery for this sequel to Inferno's Heir and I'm super glad I did. I loved the directing the story to so much and the way the characters changed, developed and grew. It brought me back to six of crows\Crooked kingdom vibes and I was so happy to be there. The pacing was amazing and the story sucked me in so much I didn't like I was reading anymore. I pictured it all, perfectly. I definitely hope there will be another. I'd love to spend more things with these characters.
Also, that cover: gorgeous.

An exciting end to this wonderful duology. I am sad to say goodbye to some of these characters and hope we will some of them in future spin-off books!
I really enjoyed this book it flowed well and kept the reader engaged. ya appropriate.

As a sequel book to The Inferno Heir - this book holds up fairly well. Our FMC Teia, is just as morally grey as she was in book one, which is a refreshing change from the parade of morally grey shadow daddies proliferating fantasy. Teia has to learn how to balance being a fair ruler while navigating politics from a different vantage point. There is a lot of character growth and development as well making it an interesting followup to the first installment. The world building and expansion in this book is fantastic and I love the idea of how magic works in this world. There is still a lot to explore throughout this world and I would love to read more stories set in it from Tiffany Wang. Thank you to NetGalley and Bindery Books for an advanced copy of this book! I really enjoyed this wrap up to the duology and I hope you do too! Thanks for reading my thoughts and opinions!

I enjoyed Inferno's Heir and I wasn't disappointed by Tempest's Queen. Just like the first book, TQ is really fast-paced and its crowning glory is the loveable side characters. I think the overall plot was a good concept but there is definitely less action than book one. I also find it odd that this is marketed as being able to be read as a standalone, as I feel you learn nothing about the main character Teia in this book, and she would be completely hollow if not for the development you see in book one.
I love the elemental magic in this duology and the role of court politics, especially after the explosive finale in IH. We get all new villains in this book and I felt equally as shaken as I was by their predecessors, plus I loved the surprises that carried over from book one. I think Tiffany Wang does a really excellent job of writing action sequences and 'filler' text, but I struggled with the dialogue a little bit in this book. At times it feels stilted and unnatural.
I am excited to see how Wang's writing develops and I'll definitely be giving her work a go again in the future.

More Magic. More Heists. And a Broken Found Family.
Our crew is shaken and trust is broken. Can our morally grey queen fix her chosen family and stop Lehm's plan to raise the Serkawr?
Tiffany Wang’s world expansion for book 2 is exquisite. I was fully intrigued and immersed in this new land as our characters explore a new kingdom. The new characters with magic so different than what Teia knows was fascinating and added a whole new layer to what is possible.
The story and the twists kept me engaged and wanting more. Cannot wait to get my hardcopy in October!
Thank you Tiffany Wang, Violetear, and Bindery Books for the eARC.

Tempest’s Queen is a thrilling sequel that builds on the world and character development established in the first book. The protagonist’s growth is compelling, as they struggle with the weight of leadership, duty, and personal desires. The author does a fantastic job of portraying this internal conflict, making the character’s journey feel both emotional and earned.
The world-building is richer in this installment, with the addition of deeper political intrigue and a more complex mythology. The pacing strikes a perfect balance, shifting between introspective moments and high-stakes action. Secondary characters are given more depth, and their relationships add tension and emotional depth to the narrative.
The writing continues to shine, with vivid descriptions that draw readers into both quiet scenes and large-scale conflicts. The themes of sacrifice, loyalty, and identity are explored with nuance, grounding the epic story in relatable struggles. Tempest’s Queen is a must-read for fans of high fantasy, and I would for sure read anything Tiffany dishes out next!

I was so excited to read this especially as the ending of the first book was so surprising!
This had the same energy and fun of the first book with the same surprise.
It did take a while to get going but once it did I was hocked.

I really loved how the story unfolded and how everything ended.
I loved the world and I am sad that it ended.

I honestly expected the sequel to have far more action and less back and forth dialogue. The characters were interesting but the creative names of places and people were a bit hard to keep track of. I lost interest in some of the plot points and subplots very quickly however. I did enjoy the main character's wit and honesty in her struggles to maintain queenhood.

A fantastic conclusion to the duology. A well crafted story with incredible characters, and such a layered world. I can't wait to see more from Tiffany Wang.

5 ⭐️
I am so sad that this story is over! I had the privilege to at. Read the first book last year and now the honor to arc read the sequel. Thank you so much to the publisher and the author for trusting me with your work.
I think this duology is criminally underhyped. The first book in the series was so good but this second book was AMAZING!
This book has everything! Found family, romance, heists, political intrigue, sarcasm and humor. The sprinkling of romance throughout is enough to make you giddy and kick your feet. The fact that Tobias can hardly say a word yet make my heart race speaks for itself.
Enna is one of my favorite side characters. She’s witty and so unserious with a silver tongue. Teia is the best anti hero I’ve ever read with grey morales and a soft spot for those she loves. Very few people get under her thick skin but when they do, she is loyal to a fault. The entire cast of characters is so likeable and relatable that I find myself wanting to be a part of their crew.
This book included another heist, similar to book one which we love to see, and some unexpected magical trials. AND THE PLOT TWIST AT THE END!!!! Truly had my jaw on the floor and was so well done that I didn’t even see it coming. I’m so sad this story is ending but am so glad it exists because it’s an amazing read. I highly recommend!

Tempest’s Queen picks up where Inferno’s heir left off and we get to see the consequences of Teia’s actions at the end of book 1. We travel to Shaylan and meet some new characters and reunite with some old ones on a quest to stop Lehm from raising the Serkawr. The scheming, heists, and battles did not disappoint. I did not see the twist at the end coming and the end had me in tears (both happy and sad!)
Thank you to Tiffany Wang, Bindery Books, Violetear, and NetGalley for an ARC!

The queen has won her crown. Now, she must prove she’s worthy to wear it.
Tempest's Queen picks up where we left off in Inferno's Heir, and the author Tiffany Wang delivers nonstop action until the final page. Whereas book one set up the political climate of Teia's world and introduced us to our cast of characters, Tempest's Queen dives into the repercussions of her choices and how they have shaped the fate of those around her.
Teia has so much growth in this book becoming a better and stronger version of herself. This is a healing book of self discovery for Teia with plenty of adventure, heists and schemes. I love how she is always one step ahead of everyone. Even the reader! She gives me Ocean’s 11 vibes when she lets you in on the scheme!
I did find some parts less engaging then some but still think this is a great read and a good ending for Teia’s story but I hope there is more to come from Tiffany Wangs world because there is a lot more that can come from the series!

My praises from The Inferno's Heir hold up perfectly here. Teia is still an amazing protagonist, and the chemistry she shares with the side characters, both familiar and new, is still delightful as ever. The heist shenanigans aren't as intriguing here as they were in the first book, but you can't break into a prison twice in the same series. Besides, it still was fun and never failed to show off Teia's intelligence and cunning.
My wish for more worldbuilding was fulfilled here. Shaylan felt just as rich and fleshed as out Erisha, and Teia's perspective as a newcomer to her mom's homeland provided interesting perspectives. I do hope Wang gets to explore the other three kingdoms in a sister series, though, because even though Teia's story ends here, there's so much potential to explore the remaining kingdoms through the eyes of another protagonist.
Overall, I really liked this duology, and I hope to come back to it in the future (When I have the time; I still have so much other stuff I need to catch up on).

⭐️: 4.75 of 5
Thank you to Tiffany Wang and NetGalley for the ARC! All opinions are my own.
Now onto the book!
I loved TEMPEST'S QUEEN more than I did it's predecessor. Teia is still Morally ambitious, morally ambiguous, and willing to stab people in the back. Now, she has a crown to go alongside it, and this time she is trying to help her cousin grom.bejng attacked.
Like the first novel of this duology, Teia is someone you root for but she's also a bit like her own villain. There's twists and betrayals, love and angst, and it's all so well written you won't want it to end.
Some reviewers have stated they wished the ending was different or that there was more to it, but I thought it suited the text well and, overall, made for a wonderful conclusion to a very, very good duology.

I didn’t realize this was a sequel when I requested it but I really enjoyed this after reading book 1! I thought Teia was a fantastic main character and this book was just as good as the first one. The plot was super engaging and I had a really great time with this.

Beautifully written, action packed, but still left me wanting more!
The second book in this duology has our main cast of characters in turmoil after Teia has forcefully taken her place upon the throne. She must now travel to the homeland of her mother to try and stop the destructive plans of Dawnbreaker leader Lehm.
Filled with lots of distrust, miscommunication, and haphazard planning -- a wild ride! Feel like all of these characters deserved more of an HEA than they got.

The story is well paced and the writing is good (fluid, descriptive, and I like that the story is not too dependent on dialogue). I really enjoyed the characters. I do think the language could have been a little more in-line with whatever time period or world the author envisioned. I find that when the language flows but then you see the word "hurl" or something like that, it takes you out of the flow of the fiction and breaks the fantasy.

Bindery is absolutely killing it with all their books and this is no exception! I love the premise of the story and the execution didn't fail. I was so invested right from the start and it kept my interest, making it hard to put the book down.

What an absolutely thrilling finale to a wonderful duology! Tempest’s Queen had me hooked from start to finish—Tiffany Wang really delivered. The stakes were high, the emotions were real, and the twists were SO GOOD. I’m not ready to say goodbye to these characters—they’ve completely stolen my heart. I'm going to be thinking about this one for a long time.
Thank you NetGalley and Bindery Books for this ARC in exchange for an honest review.

I've received "Tempest Queen" as an ARC. My review is my honest opinion.
After the surprising ending of the first book, we end up with a queen, a thief, the Poison Master, the champion, a lord who was a rebel, an emperor (a cousin of the queen), an advisor and the Society of Thieves that work together to stop a very bad man from doing a very, very bad thing. The same qualities of the first book are still there - the world building, the twists and turns, intrigues, betrayal and the power that corrupts many, the humour and the fellowship. The ending is a bit sad, but very satisfying.
I recommend the duology to anyone who wants to read high fantasy with a strong FMC who will burn the world down if needed and/or command the water in the laungs to drown you where you stand. There are multiple love stories if you are looking for romance in fantasy books, but they are not overshadowing the rest of the tale. Very well written, beautifully imagined and breathtakingly surprising. Just as I like it. Would I allow my kids to read this? Absolutely yes.

Firstly, as always the cover of this book is absolutely stunning, I didn’t think we could get better after the first but I was clearly wrong!
Tempests Queen starts where we left off, and our Teia is on a journey to her homeland, where there are new and old friends to meet and love, whilst working towards finally defeating Lehm.
My favourite part of the book was for sure the further exploration of the five kingdoms, I thought this was done in a really well rounded way and I found it really engaging. I loved the way this expanded and completed the overall world building that started in book one.
I loved how this book rounded up a conclusion from its previous nicely, I think the pacing was a little slow at times but for the most part I was engaged and wanting to find out more and more.
I adore our characters (Kyra is my personal fave forever).
Overall I did enjoy this book but I just think book one will forever be a sweet spot for me!

Thank you Bindery Books.
Tiffany WANG. WHEN I FIND YOU. I WILL PROBABLY BE MAD. But I love this book. It's the perfect conclusion. I just cannot describe my thoughts right now.

4.5/5 stars - any book that makes me cry gets bonus points. This book was even better than the first. The ease of the storytelling, the twists, the betrayals, the highs and lows. It's really well done. Thank you NetGalley for the ARC copy - this book releases in October 2025.
After having betrayed everyone and everything, Teia is now Queen. But is she fit to wear the crown? If she any better than her monster of a half brother before her? With her new reign on shaky grounds, Teia decides she must set off to her mothers homeland across the sea to warn the kingdom of the coming danger and plot of an old foe (Lehm) who is back in the picture. This begins a massive quest for Teia and a rag tag group to work to uncover the scheme and save not only her kingdom, but all kingdoms.

Tempest's Queen was everything I wanted in a sequel. I was once again gripped by the writing and pulled into the story, along for the ride right alongside Teia. What a wild ride it was, so much action and intrigue packed into the story, there was never a dull moment. This is absolutely an author that I will be excitedly watching for more to come!

Tempest’s Queen was one of my most anticipated read for 2025, because I had loved Inferno’s Heir. I was so ecstatic when I got the ARC! Let me just say the sequel was just as good as the first book. It is action packed filled with wit (<3 Enna Van Apt), political intrigue, schemes, high stake heists/breakouts, and shocking revelations. It is rich in history and mythology. We get to explore more of the world and see new forms of magic. However, what made this book stand out for me, was the complex, morally ambiguous diverse characters, especially our protagonist, Teia. She is fierce and ambitious, but also protective of the ones she loves. Her redemption arc was so well written. She is definitely not a sympathetic character. She understands the consequences of her choices and the impact it has on others. Although she stands by her decision, she also tries to correct the wrongs of the past. Some may see her as a villain and other a hero, but it is that ambiguity that makes Teia such a great character. There is also romance in this novel, which I really enjoyed. Although it is just a subplot, the yearning and tension was just so good. Finally, I loved the found family aspect of this novel. Despite the struggles and challenges these characters face, they are always there for one another.
Overall, I thought this was a great end to this series. It has definitely become one my favorite political YA fantasy duology. Highly recommend if you love intricate plotlines, witty dialogues, and memorable characters. I’m just sad that this story has ended, but I hope in the future the author will consider writing more stories in this world.
Thank you Netgalley and Bindery Books for giving me the opportunity to read this ARC. All opinions are my own.

Inferno's Heir was a fantastic read. I always worry that the second book may not hit the marks as well as the first, but Tempest's Queen was a bittersweet finale that I loved just as much.
Tempest's Queen contains a lot of a political components, diversity, plot twists that keep you engaged, and the writing was very well done. Also, the cover art is phenomenal and very distinctly important to the story which I love.
Thank you Tiffany Wang, Net Galley and publishing for the ARC in exchange for honest feedback.

Six months after seizing her crown, Teia isn't enjoying her time as Queen. Instead she must deal with a man, who should be dead, attempting to raise a beast that may or may not be real. Determined to be better than those in power before her, Teia makes the journey to Shaylan to warn her mother's family of the plot to destroy the world as they know it. Unfortunately for Teia, the key to defeating Cornelius Lehm and his insane plan might just lie in the very people who vowed to kill her if they ever cross paths again.
I adore this series! What a great way to finish the duology off, Wang is a fantastic author! That being said, there were moments of the book that I wasn't entirely engaging with the plot. When it got to a slower part, I found myself setting it down to read something else. I did really enjoy the action sequences, and Teia's character became a bit more likeable (she was likeable before, but she really grew emotionally in this book). It was also so freaking cool to finish the book, look back at the cover, and really be able to understand the meaning of it!
Can't wait to see what Wang writes next!
Thank you to NetGalley and Bindery Books/Violetear for the eARC! Projected publishing date: October 28th, 2025

What a powerful end to this duology! Tempest's Queen was such a wild ride with one twist after another. Rich story telling and vivid world building combined with the growth of the characters definitely made this my favorite book of the two and I'm a bit bummed that there is not another book to look forward to!
My only complaint is that I did think the heroine's plans were unnecessarily complicated and conveniently revealed after everything seems to go wrong but then somehow goes conveniently according to plan.

I absolutley loved this book! I was gripped into the story as soon as I started and finished it in one sitting. I loved the authors writing style because it made it very easy to read and follow the plot. The characters were very unique but there journey was amazing and extremely satisfying to read. I will be recommending this book to all of my family and friends.

Loved this series! Great story and great characters!
The worldbuilding was nicely done, and you were keept intriged by the story all the way!

2025 has barely begin — alright, alright, I hear you, we are 25% in the year, BUT this has to be one of the best books I will read this year. I loved Inferno's Heir to death, and Tempest's Queen has only added to intensify my adoration for this universe. I hate that this is it? That we are not getting any more explorations of the five kingdoms? That we aren't getting any more of the fierce Teia, kind Tobias, stealthy Enna, wholesome Alara, and oh so sweet Kyra?? I need to get my hands on the physical copies of this duology, for one, look at that cover, and secondly, it is a series that has ascertained itself in my heart as one of the best political YA fantasies ever written.
And it couldn't have come at a better time than this, when we have readers arguing about how reading isn't inherently political, when our world descends into chaos. That's the tragic part about dystopian/political fiction in today's age, it doesn't feel like fiction at all, however pondering about that would be a deviation from the main purpose of this review.
Tempest's Queen is the dramatic conclusion to Inferno's Heir, and for me, contains all the elements that made the first book so endearing to me. The plot twists keep you flipping the pages, the world and character building is SO immersive, the writing flows like a destructive flame -- reaching the tiniest corners of your soul and leaving them scorched in the most magnificient way. I LOVE the relationships between these characters, I love how diverse they are, I am so enthralled by the way they overcome their problems. Teia is everything we want our strong female characters to be omg???
Thank you Bindery Books & Netgalley for the ARC, I will never shut up about how life-changing this book is. If you have ever been intrigued by well-developed kingdoms and (sort of) elemental magic, this is the epic fantasy for you.

Tempest's Queen is such a good story. I rated this amazing story 5 stars because I couldn't put this book down for a second.

This is a captivating tale that transports readers to a richly imagined world filled with magic, adventure, and intrigue. The story follows the FMC, who embarks on a perilous journey. Along the way, they encounter a diverse cast of allies and enemies, each adding depth to the unfolding narrative. The author’s vivid world-building and immersive storytelling create a breathtaking setting where mythical creatures, ancient prophecies, and epic battles come to life.

4.5 stars Tempest’s queen. 4.5 stars
First of all Tiffany Wang has crafted a great story about Teia and the challenges she faces.
Like the previous book Inferno’s heir there are many challenges from the first chapter and weave through out the whole book.
Adding in more political pulls from Teia point of view, new characters and the relationships that come with them.
Lehms plotting.
Traitors
As well as Hard choices for Teia and her friends.
Us readers are in for a great ride when it comes to the Tempest’s queen.
I did find some parts less engaging then some but still think this is a great read and a good ending for Teia’s story but I hope there is more to come from Tiffany Wangs world because there is a lot more that can come from the series. Fingers crossed.
Thank you Tiffany Wang, Bindery books and NetGalley for the ARC Copy.

This is Book 2 in the Inferno’s Heir Duology.
I loved this book so much. It is just as good as Book 1. This book has political intrigue, rebel schemes, extortion, heists, and redemption. We follow Teia on her journey of redemption after her betrayals in Book 1.
This book is a page turner. It is very hard to not read in one setting.
This duology gives The Cruel Prince vibes as Teia and Jude are so much alike… BA QUEENS! Go read this duology!! You won’t regret it!
Thank you so much Bindery Books and NetGalley for the eARC

Thank you to Bindery Books and Netgalley who provided me with an eARC of this book for review purposes. All opinions are my own.
We rejoin our heroes for the conclusion of the Inferno’s Heir duology in this book. Just like the last, it features political intrigue, action, and–best of all–heists.
I enjoyed this book even more than the first, especially as the characters all felt more fleshed out and complex. I had difficulty connecting to Teia in the last book, but very much enjoyed watching her grapple with her own moral flexibility in this book. She is not a soft or sympathetic character, but that is one of the things that I enjoy best about her. I would have appreciated a bit more tension between the characters due to her actions at the conclusion of the first novel, but the excitement of the various schemes and heists more than made up for it.
My biggest complaint is that the story, while not ended on a cliffhanger, doesn’t quite feel finished to me. I feel like there is so much more left to tell, and was vaguely unsatisfied by the ending. I suppose if a book’s biggest failing is that it leaves you wanting more of the story and the world that the characters inhabit, it’s not really much of a failing at all.
That being said, I hope that the author doesn’t leave us too long without a new work–whether with these characters or in a whole new cast from her imagination. I will definitely pick up a copy whenever that happens.

as a second book in the series I had high hopes for it and was so excited to complete this story and then the second book came and really did lifted my expectations again for the author upcoming books , I don't like spoiling any books i read anyway so for my honest review for it if you liked the first , you will worship the second book , there is more development for the characters we didn't see in Inferno's Heir so yes highly recommended duology

Inferno's Heir has become one of my favorite duologies - it's the perfect combination of Six of Crows, Avatar, and The Poppy War, with fresh takes on morally gray characters.
Teia has become a favorite protagonist for me - her ruthless ambition combined with her fierce love and protectiveness for her loved ones makes her a fascinating and complex heroine. I would have liked to see more development from the cast of characters - while Enna and Tobias are important to the plot, I didn't feel a very deep connection to them, and I would have liked to learn more about them on their own and not in relation to Teia.
The plot was extremely fun and I loved that it was set in Shaylan. The idea of Memory Keepers was really interesting and the worldbuilding was done really nicely. Tiffany Wang did an amazing job creating a whole new setting while maintaining the same tone and pacing as the first book.
The open ending was also appreciated and I am so very excited to see where Tiffany Wang goes with her writing. Thank you so much to NetGalley and Bindery Books for the eARC!!

I don't think this was quite as well-paced and structured as the first one, however, I did continue to enjoy the story. For most of the story, I went between sections in which I was really engaged and sections in which I was less engaged. It is because of this that my rating is closer to a solid four. Outside of that critique, the exploration into another of the five kingdoms was awesome. I think it added more to the overall view of the world being crafted. I definitely suggest this duology though, I just wish there were more books to further explore the rest of the five kingdoms.

Hated that this was just a duology! Absolutely loved this better than the first. Teia is Queen and you navigate with her journey to explore the rest of the kingdom. Also for her to warn everyone of the coming threat. Definitely very much engaged throughout the story. Wish there was more this series. I do feel like it did a good job wrapping up the story.

Wow! This series has gotten me out of a major book slump. I'm such a big fan of Teia's character and her development. I do feel like the stakes somehow felt less high than in the first book, but the plot twists and characters were as distinct and exciting as the first book. Where the first book felt very Six of Crows, this read as very Shadow and Bone (just inspired by in the broadest strokes).
4.5 stars

I received an eARC in exchange for an honest review. Thank you to NetGalley, Violetear Books, and Bindery Books for providing me with copy.
When I initially requested this title, I didn't realize it was the second book in a duology. I was lucky enough to be able to read Inferno's Heir quickly with Libby so I could start reading this one. I could tell that Tempest's Queen was definitely a second book in the sense that the writing was better than in the first book. Don't get me wrong, I enjoyed both, but I could tell there'd been growth. Tempest's Queen had more descriptive language, more world lore, and just as intense of a story - just with a few extra twists and turns than Inferno's Heir.
I think my biggest qualms were I felt like betrayals from Inferno's Heir were maybe forgiven a little too quickly and that sometimes the language felt too descriptive. The small glimpses of romance were what I prefer when the story is as intense and filled with political intrigue as this one is. Honestly, I wish that there was more explaining the elemental affinities of the Five Kingdoms and why only nobles seem to have them. Some parts felt a little ATLA, and I loved that. Overall, 3.75 stars, but 4 stars for the duology. I'd definitely be interested in reading more that this author has to offer.

Tempest Queen gave me everything I was hoping for—political chaos, magic, betrayal, and a queen who is messy in the best way.
Teia is back and trying to hold it all together (barely), and the way her decisions spiral? Whew. She’s ruthless, emotionally complicated, and absolutely refuses to play by anyone’s rules but her own. I live for a morally grey queen who makes terrible choices for all the right reasons.
We get even more of the Five Kingdoms in this one—especially Shaylan—and the world is stunning. You can feel the tension building through every conversation, every betrayal, every alliance that might break apart in the next chapter. It’s court intrigue on steroids, and I was hooked.
Was it perfect? No. Some of the pacing dragged a bit and a few plot twists felt like they showed up just to move things along. But did I care? Not really. I was too deep in the drama to stop.
If you love fierce queens, slow burn rebellion, and power struggles wrapped in pretty writing and even prettier pain—go ahead and add this one to your shelf.

Teia is an exceptional character. She grew stronger and stronger with every page I flipped. An orphaned princess, shunned in her own kingdom and with no prospect of ever inheriting the throne which was greatly made sure by a very cruel half brother, she's a rose who bloomed out of the tiniest crack in the wall. Trust was never Teia's forte. But when she found herself in the Shaylani court amongst traitors and conspirators, she found herself trusting the three musketeers of Dawnbreakers whom she had unintentionally beatrayed and exiled out of Erisia. Their common enemy? Cornelius Lehm, the monstrous and cunning rebel leader of the Dawnbreakers who went astray from the cause he once had and was now chasing an ancient myth of a creature, Serkawr.
Lehm was always two steps ahead of Teia, always infiltrating her plans, always planting seeds of bestrayal. The fascinating part was that he was so compelling that he had fooled the Shaylani emperor and Teia's cousin, Yuwen; the rebel champion, Kyra Medoh and even the bravest Shaylani guards, the Nagas.
Now that I've kind of set the atmosphere of the book, let me officially fangirl about this. Teia, Enna, Tobias, Alara and Kyra- omg! I'm so in love with them. I absolutely lovedddddd the banters, they were so very witty. And we get a bit of soft romance segments for Teia and Tobias, which had me in a chokehold. I absolutely rooted for them during the action packed scenes, which there were like quite some. And the twist in the end was gripping, though I always had an inkling about it but I was still surprised. I loved the sequel as much as the first book. I saw some reviews mentioning how the second book wasn't as good but I really liked it. I think it was equally fast paced and well written.

So much better than the first one so fast paced easy to read and the twists and betrayals???whiplash and also I cried like

Tempest’s Queen by Tiffany Wang
⚔️👑🖤🌊 4.5/5 stars
HELLO??? This book ate and left no crumbs. Imagine: deadly court politics, morally gray fae royals, a tempestuous queen who doesn't know if she wants to kiss you or kill you (maybe both), and one very tired, very loyal soldier who is just trying to survive the chaos.
This book is giving:
✨ enemies to “I’ll burn the world for you”
✨ “who did this to you” trope (WEAK for it)
✨ court intrigue with a side of murder
✨ angst. So. Much. Delicious. Angst.
Our girl—the Queen herself—is cold, calculated, and so unbothered it hurts. But beneath the icy exterior? Hints of heartbreak and buried softness that had me absolutely feral. And the love interest?? Brooding, battle-scarred, loyal to a fault. The slow-burn tension was chef’s kiss.
Also, the WRITING?? Ethereal. Lyrical. You’ll be rereading lines like you're annotating a Taylor Swift song. Tiffany Wang did not come to play — she came to emotionally devastate us with poetic metaphors and soul-crushing longing.
Perfect if you're into:
📖 fae drama with teeth
📖 queens who don’t need saving but wouldn’t mind someone choosing them anyway
📖 slow burn that HURTS in the best way
📖 vibes that scream “I could fix them but honestly I want them to stay a little bit broken”
Final thoughts: obsessed. Please send help or the sequel. Whichever comes first.

Very fast pace.A beautiful end to the duology.
A very strong female character.
A good world and very interesting plot.

Teia Carthan won her crown. Now, she must prove she’s worthy to wear it, in a gripping conclusion to the Inferno's Heir duology. Teia must earn back friendship, or be crushed by the consequences of her treachery, unleashing the deadly fate coming.
This book had everything that made me fall in love with the first book in the duology. The non-stop action, movement, romance and plot development was something that I ached to read in this book and was amazingly approved for!
It has everything --- found family, romance, heists, political intrigue, sarcasm and humor. The action scenes were stunning, especially with how elemental magic was used as a weapon. The new and expanded magic system was glorious and well developed.
Teia's anti-hero side was shown every clearly and made me admire her rage and vengeance even more. The romance between Teia and Tobias was heart-warming and I was so happy to see them back together! The found family element was another standout. It was sweet, touching, and heartbreaking at the end.
Like Inferno's Heir, Tempest's Queen broke my heart so many times at the end. It's definitely not HEA but rather a bittersweet ending to a wonderful story!

The final book in The Inferno's Heir duology does not disappoint. In Tempest’s Queen, Teia is now a queen, but rest is still out of reach. Lehm is out there, plotting to raise the Serkawr to destroy and rebuild the Five Kingdoms in his image. To stop him, Teia travels to Shaylan to warn her cousin, the Shaylani Emperor, but, as always, everything goes wrong. She ends up face-to-face with the very people she once betrayed.
I could not put this book down. I don’t know what Tiffany Wang put in this, but it was absolutely addictive. Somehow even better than the first book!
The action scenes were stunning, especially with how elemental magic was used as a weapon. The magic system really got to shine here, and I adored how often and how creatively it was used.
And the romance? Phenomenal. It broke my heart how things ended in the first book, but this sequel picks right up with Teia and Tobias and just... wow. I swooned, I grinned, and I ached for them. Their romance is only a small part of the plot, and I do wish we’d gotten a bit more of them in the end, but honestly, it was perfect as it was. Tobias is a total book boyfriend, every one of his lines was incredible.
The found family element was another standout. It was sweet, touching, and sometimes absolutely heartbreaking. The author wasn’t afraid to let characters make brutal choices—kill, betray, die, or do questionable things. One betrayal completely tore my heart out, I did not see that coming! Teia is such a brilliant, sharp protagonist, and the other Dawnbreakers are just as amazing. I loved every single one of them, and I’m genuinely sad this duology is over.
If I had one small wish, it’s that the Dawnbreakers didn’t forgive Teia quite so fast. Even though they didn’t say it outright, they were still pretty civil toward her. I would’ve liked to see some of them be more angry, to lash out a bit, especially since that would’ve added an extra layer to the romance as well. That part of their relationship felt a little too easy to overcome, and I think it could’ve taken more from Teia emotionally.
Still, this was a brilliant conclusion to a phenomenal series. I loved just about everything in this book, and I can’t wait to see what Tiffany Wang writes next!

This book picks up where the first book left off and goes full speed ahead the entire time. The expansion of the world along with watching Teia learn what it means to be a queen and do what is best for her people makes for an extremely engaging story. I loved going on this journey with Teia and seeing her progress, as well as learn more about old and new side characters that really fleshed the world out even further. This was an excellent conclusion to the duology!

Incredible end to this duology. Full of magic and stakes and heists! Teia is a character you can’t help but to root for

I lovedddd this book! I at first wasn’t quite sure how the second book would go considering the ending of the last one, however this book flowed so well and the plot was spot on! I love that there wasn’t just easy choices to be made, that there was genuine stakes, this made me so much more invested instead of just your usual ‘easy way out’
This is a million percent a must read for everyone involved!!
I received an arc copy from Netgalley and all opinions are of my own.

Overall, I enjoyed this series. The story was great and unique. The book definitely puts the gender bias into light, which is why I love Teia so much as a main character. She isn't really considered a hero and it's so refreshing. She could easily be portrayed as a villain, but even so, she's one who does wrong things for the right reasons and isn't inherently bad. I appreciate that even though she knew she did "bad" things, she never regretted them because of the end result. If a man did any of those things, no one would think twice. Teia was looked down upon for doing some not so great things, but a man who had done more abhorrent things barely even gets judged by the people. I don't know if the problem I had with one of the betrayals was due to the writing not being fully developed or that it was because a man was so eager to believe another man he just met with shotty proof over a woman who he was related to and had been willing to get better proof. Along with this piece, there were some spots that could've used some work. A few of the plot points/twists weren't fully developed and sometimes the flow of events didn't make sense. Some surprises didn't feel like there was any kind of foreshadowing to be able to guess it was going to happen and the dots not fully connected. All that said, I enjoyed the books and would read this author again. Technically, I rated 3.5/5, but rounding up to 4.

This lovely historical YA novel tells the story of a queen who went to great lenghs to get her crown and continnues working hard in order to keep it. Queen Teia risked everything and now she ventures across the sea to warn she cousin of a great enemy who is still alive. She will need all the help she can muster to defeat this enemy even if it means she must gain the trust of those she does not like.
Overall I was quite impressed with this novel. It goes to show that being a monarch is no easy business and with that title comes great responsibility.
