Description

Renowned photographer Chris Malone is fed up with fame and disaster. All he wants is anonymity and a chance to recharge. Suburban journalist Ellie Flannery has other ideas. If she can just convince her long-time idol to support her favorite cause, she knows her fund-raiser will be a huge success.

After refusing at first, Chris decides to co-operate. When he’s forced to defend his own reputation as well as his family’s, he decides he wants something from the idealistic and sexy-but-doesn’t-know-it Ms Flannery Ellie in return: her heart.

But Ellie has scars that no one has ever seen, and she doesn’t want to open herself up to anyone, much less a man with such an unflinching eye for the truth. Can Chris convince her to strip herself bare, in more ways than one?

This was a cute story. Ellie, a journalist, sees an award winning photographer Chris on the beach and approaches him. Chris is trying to get away from work and is a little burnt out and not very nice to Ellie. Ellie wants Chris to donate a photo for a charity and asks him, nicely, for a photo; Chris flat out refuses and his refusal goes viral which makes him look like a scrooge and a jerk.
Chris tracks Ellie down and offers to take a photo when he realizes it is for a good charity and he doesn't really want to be a jerk to pretty Ellie. Ellie had a bad event happen in her past and is a little leery of sharing too much of herself with men, but she is falling for Chris anyway.
Good story between them, I liked both of the characters, but I didn't think this book went too deep. I was expecting a little more emotion and angst, but it wasn't there.

Cute story that's a little off the beaten track for contemporary romance novels. Purman's characters are vibrant and you root for the happy ending.

Excellent read! This is a new to me author and I must say I really enjoyed her writing style. In this story mentally exhausted photojournalist Chris Malone is just trying to find some down time to get his head back in the game. When he is abrupt and rude to Ellie Flannery, he finds himself in a social media nightmare. As they work together to fix his image and raise money for her favorite charity their story really begins. This is a good one and I definitely recommend it.

Born a rich kid, Chris decided to live a life far from riches. While he is a successful photographer he has seen enough impoverished people and devastation to understand a good thing when he sees it. He and Ellie started off on the wrong foot and he decides to make it right. A typical romance has the woman making sacrifices but it's Chris deciding to make a change. The chemistry between them was hot and natural, I definitely wanted a longer story. My copy was given through Netgalley for an honest review.

This is a cute contemporary about two people hitting a crossroads in their life without even realising it. Ellie is nice and bubbly and wants to help the world, while Chris is gorgeous, brooding and has seen the worst the world has to offer. For Chris spending time with Ellie is a breath of fresh air after all the darkness, while for Ellie he offers acceptance and gives her self-confidence a much needed boost. They balance each other out while also giving as much as they receive. The romance is sweet and a little bit sexy, and the plot is all ’round feel good.

I’ve really enjoyed this whole Hot Aussie Heroes series, connected only by the various fund-raising links to the Royal Flying Doctors service, and this book also made me curious about Chris’ younger brothers. I hope this isn’t the last we’ve heard of those Malone boys.

Another first of reading a new Australian writer/author, Victoria Purman, and book four of the series Hot Aussie Heroes, “The Millionaire” is a short and a good one time read.

Chris Malone is a world famous photographer and is on vacation incognito or so he thinks. Tired of the travelling all over the planet, photographing the horrors of the world and living out of suitcases, hotels and camps has taken a toll on Chris and all he wants to do recuperate and stay away from the eyes of the public, even if it means to be a total ass about it.

Journalist Ellie Flannery sees Chris Malone her idol on a lonely beach and takes the chance to request his help for her fundraiser. Unfortunately idols can be idiots in real life! Chris refuses and the incident goes viral. What starts of as damage control, leads to Chris enjoying Ellie and her joy for life. And Ellie soon sees the generous and broken man underneath his touch exterior, and she wants to spend her life with him.

Short and nice, “The Millionaire” is an appealing read as it takes you on the ride along with Ellie and Chris, as they try to get past insecurities and make a future with each other. Ellie with some past inflicted pain is a bounty of positivity and a heart of gold, always wanting to help someone. Chris as the millionaire and wanting put roots with Ellie, and have the whole family deal is endearing.

Victoria Purman did a fine job with Ellie and Chris and the story had enough love, emotions and good narration to keep you reading her works.

I have to say that I really like this book, its the fourth book in the series and its end in such a sweet way. You have Ellie she is a spit fire who is all about family, friends and helping everyone else. She is running to love and not such a big fun of her job. Then you have Chris he's running for everything and just wants to spend his "holiday" doing his second love. When he run into Ellie everything seems to not be going his way. He has a heart for people and loves helping others, but he has become some what jaded doing his first love, or the question is has he? In this book it keep you going and the storyline is so well written it shows the love for others while in hopes of trying to find themselves. I really liked this book a lot.

Book 1: The Cowboy by Margareta Osborn

Book 2: The Hero by Amy Andrews

Book 3: The Playboy by Madeline Ash

Book 4: The Millionaire by Victoria Purman

Don’t let the names of the books fool you they are not self-absorbed characters that you will end up fed up with or annoyed by this book and the others are totally worth the read.

Will say there is strong language in this book.

This is a new author for me and I must say that I tottally loved this beautiful, sweet, sexy and all around feel good story. Chris Malone was born into weath but he leaves that lifestyle and his family behind after the death of a close friend. He is a world renowned famous photographer who has returned home to escape the ugly disasters and despair of the world as well as the gore and grief he has spent his life trying to capture on film for the big headline. He desperately needs a diversion and downtime to help get his head back in the game. Enter Ellie Flannery a surburban journalist who has lost her drive for the story. Ellie is bubbly, as well as a spit fire and loves her family. And friends. On a outing to the beach Ellie comes face to face with the Hot Sexy Chris Malone her Idol. She knows that the fundraiser for the Royal Flying Doctor Service she is working on would benefit greatly if she could get one of his photographs for the auction. Chris who is taken back by the beautiful leggy creature that drew him out of the surf takes off when he realizes she knows who he is. As Ellie's goes to eat with her friend she again runs into Chris but this time her friend captures their meeting and his refusal on film before he even knows what the photograph request is for.and the video goes viral. Once he finds out about the media frenzy and what she was wanting his photograph for he wants to make amends and so begins this sweet beautiful sexy storyline. This has a great plot as well as well developed characters. I couldn't and didn't want to put it down. It made me smile laugh and cry. LOVED LOVED IT.

Chris is a renowned Photographer who spends his time travelling the world trying to capture photographs which usually make the headlines in the main global newspapers.

Ellie lives in Sydney, where she works as a journalist. Chris returns to Sydney for a well earned break and meets Ellie by chance. She recognises him straightaway and when she asks him for a favour, he refuses blankly.

Ellie has been idolising Chris for quite some time and is quite put out by his response and attitude. They both carry scars in different ways and as they get to know each, they form a relationship, knowing that it can only be temporary.

I like the story line and the pace with which it is relayed. It is also a beautiful romance, bringing with it all kinds of emotions. I would recommend to those of a romantic nature.

I think that Tule Publishers saved the best for last in this new series. I loved The Millionaire, Hot Aussie Heroes Book 4 by Victoria Purman. This is a brand new author for me to read her books. I’m hoping that she has many more books for Tule Publishing.

The story line is well thought out and definitely sucked me right in. I like Ellie Flannery from the very beginning and can say I even liked cranky Chris Malone. It was easy to see that he was emotionally burned out. As his past begins to come to light, I liked him even more.

I enjoyed the visit to Ellie’s grandparents with the Australian background but really what makes the story so great are the characters. Seeing the progression of their relationship is so lovely. I enjoyed watching them discover how well they really were in sync after a rocky start. Chris’ interactions with his brother gives insight into Chris’ character. Plus it left me wanting to know more about Callum, too.

Overall, this is an excellent story with authentic characters that you would love to have as friends.

Oh the power of social media... this is the setting for this engaging story... how one little encounter can start a journey of self discovery and romance without them knowing it is coming. A pleasant read.

I enjoyed The Millionaire from the first page to the last. It was one of those books that had me feeling comfortable and at home both because of the setting in places I know well, from beautiful Lavender Bay to trendy Newtown and Petersham and out to the dusty red centre beyond Dubbo. Both Chris and Ellie are unpretentious and likeable characters and Ellie's grandparents are so typically country that they fit like an old shoe. As for the story, well anything that raises the profile of the Royal Flying Doctor Service and the wonderful work that organisation does has got to be good, and this book does that in spades while also telling a good love story. For feel good reading this book really delivers!

Another great story in this series! This one starts when journalist Ellie Flannery spots the hero photographer, Chris Malone, surfing on a deserted beach. He’s famous for his stupendous images of war and disaster and their initial meeting is another total disaster as he’s trying to chill and certainly doesn’t want any journalist collaring him, no matter how attractive he finds her! He stomps off in disgust when she acknowledges recognising him and admiring his work.

When she approaches him again in a local coffee shop, he’s convinced she’s stalking him and adamantly refuses to help support her charity fund raiser. A photo of him doing so is soon viral as her friend posts it out on the www.

Chris is not happy to hear about himself and is shocked at his expression in the image. He feels forced to defend his own reputation and that of his family but their next meeting doesn’t go as he’d planned and the two end up working together on the fundraiser for the Royal Flying Doctor Service. Both have pasts they’d rather forget and an attraction to the other that is magnetic. Will their chemistry overcome obstacles to their love? What will happen when Chris goes off adventuring into dangerous zones again?

With two strong characters and a story that’s definitely different, this is a great book relatively light to escape into and enjoy, just right for when you’re looking for a romantic story interlude! This is the fourth book in this series but they are all written by different authors and you don’t need to read them in any particular order, they all work as standalone stories and have all been great reads!

THE MILLIONAIRE is one of a four book series called Hot Aussie Heroes recently released by Tule Publishing. As the series title suggests each of the male romantic leads is played by an Aussie. THE MILLIONAIRE opens as Ellie sees Chris surfing on a deserted beach. He is her hero as she loves his photography work and knows because of his fame she’d get a large amount of money for one of his pictures. She decides to ask him to donate. The initial meeting does not go well, she is let down by his meanness and he is tired of people lobbying him for donations – but get her legs out of his mind. A snapshot is taken of the meeting and posted on Facebook which promptly goes viral – he is stunned by how mean he looks and decides to help Ellie out. Turns out they both have a past they would rather forget and neither wants to get involved with anyone. Trouble is that old love chemistry has a mind of its own.

I really got involved with the story, it flowed along beautifully without being rushed. I found both characters to be very likable and believable, and I just LOVED Ellie’s grandparents. The romance was not forced along despite this being a novella the loved-up twosome took time to get to know each other, despite their instant mutual attraction, before they fell into bed. I also liked the ending –the resolution of the obstacles to any chance of a future life together forever was not far-fetched and had me sighing in pleasure.

I LOVED this story. It was fun, and was very light and easy to read and get into. It opens on a beach where the hero, Chris meets Ellie. He rejects her and when Facebook and twitter gets involved, he has to try and atone.

They were both really great people, and their sizzling attraction really was fun to watch. It was a little on the predictable side but still a very fun and short read at 127 pages.

THE MILLIONAIRE is one of a four book series called Hot Aussie Heroes recently released by Tule Publishing. This is a new author for me and I must say that I tottally loved this beautiful, sweet, sexy and all around feel good story. He is her hero as she loves his photography work and knows because of his fame she’d get a large amount of money for one of his pictures. She decides to ask him to donate, there is only one problem . Chris who is taken back by the beautiful leggy creature that drew him out of the surf takes off when he realizes she knows who he is. Ellie never even got the chance to tell him why she approached him. Now that he knows the reason, he wants to help. One weekend together finds them falling for each other. It was something neither one of them expected because this was a novella and it was short but so sweet. the love between both of these people was warm and fuzzy which you don't expect from a Millionaire it was great that the two some took time to get to know each other, despite their instant mutual attraction, before they fell into bed

A sweet, joyful, feel good story, that has surprising depth to it.
The first couple meetings between Ellie and Chris doesn't go so well. Chris is worn out from his job in the disaster areas of this world, having signs of PTSD, and only needing solitude and peace. All Ellie wants, is to meet her longtime idol, to ask him a favor. When social media goes viral with Chris' refusal to help, he doesn't like the man in the picture of himself, he sees in the newspapers. And goes looking for Ellie, making a deal with her to help her charity.
Chris and Ellie have an instant connection, attraction, but not only that, they are comfortable in each others company and space. Beyond the physical attraction and heat between them, they start to share about their lives, the hurts and pain, scars that are not so visible to the rest. In the short novella the author manages to show the growth and depth of the characters, the way they have to face the past demons, the acceptance of the realities, and who they are, inside and out. An adorable love story, that was so much more than I expected

Scars don’t always show on the outside. It doesn’t mean that they are any less felt for not being seen.

Chris Malone’s photographs showed the world the faces of hunger, the ravages of war, the senselessness of human nature at its worst. He was tired, no actually he was bone weary of it all and simply wanted a few weeks’ break from the ugliness of the world he photographed for the news headlines. He just wanted peace.

Ellie Flannery was a reporter by trade, but a fundraiser by heartfelt passion. She worked tirelessly on her current fundraising efforts which would benefit the organization that had in effect saved her grandfather’s life. One donated photograph by Chris Malone would raise thousands for that cause. Unfortunately for Ellie, her request when she encountered Chris on a deserted beach came off as more of a stalker than anything else. And Chris turned her down flat and rudely. If she had been able to get her thoughts together and put aside her admiration for the photographer she might have gotten out the right words to explain her request.. but she didn’t and misunderstandings were the unwanted result.

The rest of the story unfolds as these two people with scars both seen and unseen, work past misunderstandings toward something more precious than either had ever hoped to find.

I completely enjoyed The Millionaire and would recommend it without hesitation. It is a short but powerful story of two people who feel deeply, trust slowly and must find enough courage to push past the insecurities to discover a once in a lifetime kind of love

It gets a 4 outta 5 rating from me. I’m convinced you’ll enjoy this one as well.

This is book 4 in the Hot Aussie Heroes series, but, again, I read this third, so they all can be easily read as stand alone novellas.
Chris Malone walked away from his family and became a renowned photojournalist. He is back in Australia looking for a break and doesn't want anyone, especially his family, knowing where he is. When journalist Ellie Flannery sees him come out of the water after surfing, she can't believe her luck. She admires his work and realizes a donation from him would really help her charity. Unfortunately, she never gets to give him much information, as he rudely cuts her off. As with many others, I love her reaction, as she tells him that meeting a hero can only lead to disappointment. Her best friend catches the moment in a picture, posts it to social media, where it goes viral. The resulting media storm, and finding the cause, lead him back to Ellie, where he bursts into her life and finally finds some peace. Ellie has her share of scars, but goes along with Chris's ideas because the cause is so close to her heart. As these two work together and spend more time together, they find their attraction and admiration growing. I loved these two characters. They are so well-developed, and their relationship grows at a pace that works really well for the story. The secondary characters are also well-developed, and I adore Ellie's grandparents almost as much as she does. A fun, sweet, heartwarming romance that has two people that come together to heal each other's past hurts and find a future together.

This book was very unexpected. With a title like this, one would assume it is about some spoiled, fancy pants guy who is used to every luxury in this world getting his just desserts. But it was quite the opposite. Chris Malone is the anti-thesis of the stereotypical millionaire doing everything possible to disassociate himself from his old money family, pursuing the career of a photojournalist in every war torn corner of this earth while trying to remain as low profile as possible. Ellie Flannery is a journalist for a local newspaper, flippant and bold but with a heart of gold. Fate and misunderstanding throw the two of them together and results in a love story that is as much soul searching as it is heartbreaking.

In book four and quite possibly my favorite of the "Hot Aussie Heroes" series, we follow famous photographer Chris Malone and journalist Ellie Flannery.

On a walk down the beach, who should Ellie see but her hero Chris Malone coming out of the water. Chris is on a break, he wants no one to recognize him, he just want to relax. Chris needs a break from photographic despair in war torn areas, so when Ellie recognizes him, he flees.

When a photo goes viral where Chris refuses to cooperate on a fund raiser for the Royal Flying Doctors; things become interesting and the two come together and get to know each other.

Both Ellie and Chris were very sweet characters and very realistic. The way the characters come together and deal with their demons is also very engaging for the reader.

Photographer Chris Malone, has returned home for some downtime and relax, when journalist, Ellie Flannery has recognized him while surfing on a deserted beach, she has gone fan girl on him. She has decided to ask him to donate to the charity for Royal Flying Doctors Service, he has declined to help. He did change is mind though. Chris turns out to have a very big heart and helps Ellie with her inner scars. Ellie is afraid to give to much because she knows Chris is only home for a short time.

This is a wonderful story of love and such a giving heart of Chris. This is a new author for me, I will be looking for more books from her. This book is number four of the Hot Aussie Heroes, I have throughly enjoyed all of them. Perfect to warm you up during these cold days.

Great light afternoon read. The book does touch on some deeper topics like Chris's photography in war zones and other areas but doesn't delve too deep. We also learn about Ellie's scars, again not too deep. Nothing feels left out though. We get two well developed characters in a light romance. I really enjoyed it.

My biggest issue with The Millionaire… it’s a novella. Weighing in at a little over 100 pages this is a very quick read, and an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon by the pool.

Ellie Flannery is a journalist on weekend getaway with her best friend when she has a chance meeting with renowned photojournalist Chris Malone on a deserted beach a few hours out of Sydney. First impressions leave a lot to be desired and things are set to get worse before they get better.

Chris is one of Ellie’s idols and coming across him so unexpectedly robs her of intelligent conversational skills and leaves her sounding like a groupie, not a fantastic start when the man is trying to hide away from the world in anonymity. Doesn’t bode well for her professional request of a donation to a charity auction either. The situation escalates rapidly when Malone’s family, and their publicity department, look set to get involved.

The Millionaire

I really enjoyed this read, Chris and Ellie are both beautiful characters but they are hiding terrible scars which see them erecting walls against intimacy ensuring no-one gets too close. 100-ish pages is not enough page time to include detailed back stories but Purman gives us enough to understand her leads and even though our first impressions of them aren’t too favorable they have plenty of time to redeem themselves.

This a bright, quirky, funny and sexy book that I devoured in a little over 24 hours. I loved both the characters and the storyline. Just an FYI - Chris is quite a hunk from the description. I'll be looking forward to Book 3.

I enjoyed this book, it was sweet, funny and sexy.
In this story, Ellie Flannery met her idol, Chris Malone, a renowned photographer. From the beginning, they didn’t get along at all. Chris is fed up with fame.
She wanted to reach him for a charity auction but he didn’t know about it and brushed her off.

Then he is spotlighted about this kind of behavior and find himself in social media nightmare, he had to work with Ellie to fix his image and raise money for her charity.
The rest of the story unfolds as Ellie and Chris begin to work together, revealing both of their deepest scars and fears.

I really enjoyed the part about the charity, so dear to Ellie’s heart and also the story about her grandparents. The author did a great job with this part.

It was a short story about people who felt deeply, but have to pass over their insecurities if they want a HEA. It was enough love and emotion to be a great romance. Even if it was very short, the author managed the development of the characters, showing the grows and depths.
