Reasons to Stay (book 1) by Lisa J Hobman was a pleasure to read. We meet the high school sweethearts (Stevie and Jason) around the time of leaving high school and preparing for university. The bond they shared, emotionally was so incredibly strong and beautiful to read although they still haven't had sex, their connection is no less.

Jason seems vague about his plans for university although Stevie assures him it's just a wobble, a sudden disappearance when a 'leavers ball' is planned breaks her heart. My heart plummeted thinking something awful had happened to Stevie's 'soul mate'.
Ten years passes and she has no contact, no one does. It's heartbreaking seeing how she has difficulties connecting or forming any solid relationships because of her hurt. In her mind, after an absent father she tarnished all men with the same brush and accepted that they would leave her. It was heartbreaking, my only wish was for her to find some happiness.

A last minute change to her work schedule meant a school trip to Scotland with a coach full of teenagers for an activity filled 7 days. Needless to say, she meets a 'handsome man' who seemed to do nothing but irritate her initially. The arrogant, pig headed man would make her realise a lot about herself and even some things she didn't know at all.
We see the couple physically and emotionally connect, but the sadness when Stevie needs to return to her home, let and job in London is evident. When it comes to the pair saying goodbye I was sobbing. Wanting nothing more than them to reach a compromise. Cue Susan reaching for the Kleenex.

My heart was in my mouth and the emotional rollercoaster of their relationship seems doomed, despite them quite obviously being made for one another. Do they both have too many issues or hurt behind them to move forward? Another 5* book from the talented Lisa J Hobman

*****

I was lucky enough to beta read this book. Lisa you had me hooked yet again.
Lisa yet again manages to draw you into her wonderful books like your almost there on the sidelines. Lisa as a knack of doing this to her readers *:) happy.
Stevie is eighteen years and so sweet and very much in love with Jason they are inseparable and live in each others pockets, until the night of the ball and her love just vanishes, Stevie is heartbroken and many tears are shed over his disappearance but she must get on with her life "hoping he will come back into her life". Stevie's mother tries to comfort her the best way she can in her sorrow.
Ten years later Stevie has got on with her life has a science teacher. Molly her friend breaks her leg and cannot go to adventure activity that her school as put on for the kids in her school up in Scotland, Stevie is not happy about going to Scotland but her friend really left her no option.
When Stevie get to Scotland she is not amused "week from hell" springs to mind.
But the week fro hell gets even worse when she is put in a position where she has no choice in the matter.
Lets just say it gets very heated in more ways than one.
Now I'm not going to give much more away because it will spoil it for readers but lets just say this book shocked me at the beginning of the book but even more at the end. "to be continued in Reasons to Stay"
