Description
When cancer claimed Daniel’s young wife, a woman he’d known since they were children, he fled the nation’s capital for the remoteness of the Colorado mountains, leaving behind his law practice and everything else that held meaning. He convinced himself there were no do-overs in life, no second chances masquerading as firsts. Nothing left worth living for except Blue, his dog.
Then Paula swept into his mountain exile for seven extraordinary days and left him a changed man. Decades later and a thousand miles away, a chance encounter reunited them, yet she had no memory of him or their time together.
Life had given Daniel a do-over. A second chance for a first time.
Fans of Nicholas Sparks will be captivated by this emotional journey of love, loss, and the rare beauty of a do-over in life.

"Gildersleeve's prose is sunny and smooth." — Kirkus Reviews
"Authentic and witty dialogue. The repartee, flirtations and verbal jousting are superb. Some actor is going to read this book and say it must be made into a movie so I can do these lines." — Writer's Digest

Fantastic read!
Though a dialogue-driven novel, it strikes a good balance between conversation and vivid scene-setting, bringing the landscapes of Colorado and Nashville to life. The characters feel real, though flawed, making it easy to get invested in their journeys.
The story unfolds at a good pace, maintaining intrigue without rushing or dragging on. The dialogue is cute and charming, adding warmth and authenticity to even the minor character's interactions. A compelling, heartfelt read for sure!
