Love of a Rockstar was an OK read for me. I liked it and thought it had some cute moments. This was the debut novel from Nicole Simone and for a first try I thought she did a good job.

This story was about a young woman by the name of Marlene Parker, who was left to raise her daughter on her own because her ex-boyfriend left. The story starts off with showing the type of mother that Marlene grew up to be. After thinking that she would never see her ex-boyfriend again, Marlene has to deal with a lot of emotions and the sudden return of Luke the Rockstar.

Luke walked away from his heart a few years prior and is in town for a few days trying to pick up the pieces of his life he left behind. I saw a little side of Luke which was broken and you come to understand why he couldn't commit to a family life. His first love is music but he must now learn that he has two important people to take care of.

Overall, I thought the story was cute. The story had potential to be better but I still liked it. I think that Marlene let Luke back into her life to easily and could have given him a little more grief about his disappearance. The story was an easy read, the characters were very supportive of each other and had personality which added to a few of my laughs.

Love of a Rockstar needed that extra something to make me rate it a little higher. I wanted angst, a little bit of drama when he came into her life. When Luke came back into Marlene's life everyone seemed to forget about all the trouble he cause when he left. To make the story a little bit more believable I thought that the characters could have showed their dislike for him a little more. I also wanted a little bit more when it came to the main character's past. I thought it would have help with giving a better insight in the couple's past relationship.
