My love affair with Edith Wharton began three years ago at university, where I read The Age of Innocence for the first time. Since then I have been very interested in her life and work. This anthology of sorts brings together a cross section of Wharton's work; short stories and poems are included alongside two of her more famlous works - The Age of Innocence and Ethan Frome - as well as Wharton's famous essay on The Decoration of Houses which I think makes for fascinating reading.. This book is perfect for anyone encountering Wharton for the first time, especially students, and I only wish that it was out three years ago!
