Description
Susan and her husband Ben strive to rebuild their lives following their life and death battle with the diabolical Lord Mortimer. But the couple soon realise the threat to mankind’s future is far from over, as the fiendish Madam Scorpion continues Mortimer’s plans to build an army of soulless, ready to enslave the world at his command.
As Susan draws inspiration from the past, we meet Henry VIII’s secret seventh wife, find out what really happened at Stonehenge, cross the Atlantic to the blue haven with Sigrid the Shield-maiden’s Viking félag, and finally learn the horrifying truth about Mortimer’s wartime collaboration with the Nazis.
In the present, Susan and Ben’s children are embroiled in the deepening global crisis as the empty generation poses an ever-growing danger. But what soul inhabits their daughter? Is she truly evil, does she deserve to be exterminated? Or have they got the wrong girl?
While Susan makes a last attempt to save humanity, Ben races to complete a desperate mission of his own. Driven apart, each must hope the other will succeed.

Many thanks to the publisher for this ARC, all opinions are mine

Absolutely loved this book, the past life, future life theme was so inventive.
Was not sure what to expect as this is the first book in the series but after starting it I didn't want to stop reading.
This is definitely worth a read.

This was a fantastic and utterly gripping book- the characters were all varied yet added substance to the fast paced plot and the past and future setting were well combined within the story as a whole. I look forward to reading more books in the series.
Thankyou to Net galley and Troubador for an earl arc of this book.

*Destiny of Souls* by Carl Bayley is a compelling new instalment in The Souls Series, throwing readers back into a high-stakes battle for humanity. Susan and Ben are driven apart, each on a desperate mission to thwart Madam Scorpion and her soulless army.
I found the exploration of what defines humanity and the blend of action with philosophical themes truly captivating. Bayley’s world-building is intricate, and the pacing keeps you on edge. While part of a series, the core conflict is immediately engaging. It's an ambitious and thought-provoking fantasy.
I really liked *Destiny of Souls*. I rated it **4 out of 5 stars**.
