Description
Have you ever wondered how vampires got their taste for blood? In Dracula’s Brunch Club, it all started with a crimson-red donut, dripping and oozing with spooky secrets—I mean, jelly. Dripping and oozing with non-spooky-tasting JELLY. Get ready to sink your fangs into the hilarious new graphic novel from debut authors Brian Gonsar and Keenan Gaybba!
Count Dracula is not your average vampire. Well, sure, he’s undead, hates garlic, and will burn up in sunlight—but unlike other vampires, he has a knack for baking. And it’s his brunch club’s famous blood-orange-jelly donuts that give his fellow vampires the energy source they need to live forever. But when Transylvania experiences a mysterious jelly shortage, it allows his nemesis, Constantine, to swoop in and steal the brunch club—and the vampires’ loyalty—from Dracula. But it’s not just jelly donuts at stake. When townsfolk start to go missing, Dracula suspects Constantine has far more sinister motives lurking that could threaten everything vampires and humans have worked for. With the help of his chef and human friend, Elena, Dracula must find a new energy source before every vampire and human turns on him and he loses his coveted brunch club forever.
With a foreword from Kevin Jonas of the Jonas Brothers!

This was my first time reading a graphic novel and it did not disappoint. Dracula’s Brunch Club had me smiling from cover to cover. The color and illustrations were gorgeous and kept me interested in the story just as much as the writing. I also really enjoyed the author’s creativity, there was a lot of witty humor woven throughout the story and the romance reader in me smiled at Dracula’s little crush on Elena. This book is perfect for older elementary schoolers, I can’t wait to share this book with my 10 year old daughter.

Reminiscent of both Looney Tunes and Gravity Falls, this graphic novel has strong animation roots. Featuring creepy-cute art, a zany plot, and an entertaining cast of characters Dracula’s Brunch Club is a fine addition to a children’s Halloween graphic novel collection—or a spooky kid’s year-round faves! And while I haven’t tested any of the recipes in the back of the book I confess I’m curious about the blood orange jelly.

A very entertaining and imaginative comic on how vampires came to crave blood. I love the artwork and I think the plot has the right amount of mystery, humor, and stakes (pun intended) to keep a middle grade audience engaged. I really had a fun time with this story and read it in one sitting!

This book is hilarious and the protagonist is so loveable in spite of the fact that he is a vampire. He loves baking and dreams of becoming a great baker. The illustration is adorable. Children are going to love this.

This was exactly the vibe I look for in a graphic novel and hoped from the cover.
It's a fun interesting read with a spin on vampires diet and a story of acceptance of all types of people.
If you also enjoyed graphic novels like Garlic and the Vampire I would really recommend this for you.

A fearsome vampire’s favorite food is a…jelly donut? Readers who dig into this not-so-spooky debut will discover that Count Dracula is quite the donut aficionado. Having recently returned from his worldwide donut tour, Dracula finds that his popular Brunch Club has been taken over by his nefarious rival Constantine, and the ingredients for his famous blood-orange jelly donuts have gone missing. Gonsar infuses his distinct culinary style into the vampire mythos, brimming with references and silly side characters. Together with Gaybba’s illustrations, this adds a Saturday morning cartoon flavor to the story. Some readers may find the story too packed in the middle, but for those seeking a unique graphic novel, this story is something to sink their teeth into.

ARC REVIEW (8/12/25): dracula’s brunch club by brian gonsar & illustrated by keenan gaybba 🧛🏻 a comedic graphic novel that reimagines the famous vampire as a restaurateur running a popular brunch spot.
✨ stake it or leave it, all photos in this carousel have already been shared through the interwebs. I promise I’m not a total pain in the neck! enjoy the sneak peek! ✨
love at first bite! it’s been so long since I’ve read a graphic novel & this one didn’t disappoint! we start off with a foreword from kevin jonas… literally one of the jonas brothers 👀 consider me gobsmacked.
🍩 dracula’s brunch club was a wild ride, reminiscent of 90’s cartoons! the color illustrations were beautiful (truly capturing the mood) and kept me equally as invested in the story as the writing. this was all of things: spooky, cozy, goofy & full of jelly filled stakes- pun intended.
if you’re a fan of the hotel transylvania and gravity falls franchises, you will feel right at home here 🖤 I didn’t know until today that I needed vampires & donuts to exist in the same world.
definitely worth the preorder or library request!! thank you oni press for an early copy 🦇 4.5 stars!

Dracula having a donut brunch club? Sign me up! This was absolutely adorable, funny, and cute. If you like graphic novels, specifically spooky wholesome vampires or food, this is for you! I loved the art style, I loved ALL of the puns, I loved all the banter between the characters. I loved Dracula loving jelly donuts and just jelly in general. I absolutely loved the cover of this, as well. I will be buying a copy when it comes out to read with my son. It is definitely a good autumn read.
Thank you to the illustrators and authors, publishers, and netgalley for this!

Charming and punny in middle school style (if you've read other comics targeting this age range you can imagine what to expect), as Dracula tries to keep a power hungry vampire from ruining all he's worked for, while also discovering the deliciousness of human blood.
Definitely a fun time for those who enjoy a sillier side to their vampires.

A fun and spooky graphic novel that I can totally see my middle school students loving! This story offers a fresh and unexpected take on Count Dracula. Instead of the usual conflict between vampires and humans, the two coexist peacefully—at least until the arrival of the sinister Count Constantine. Dracula, known here not just as a vampire but as a passionate jelly donut connoisseur, faces a crisis when his jelly supply runs out. Desperate to maintain his beloved treats, he turns to a more... traditional vampire ingredient to fill them. It's a quirky, darkly humorous twist on a classic character.

as a lover of brunch, graphic novels and vampires, this is right up my street! When Dracula’s precious jelly for his donuts gets nicked and some of the other vampires are turning against him, it’s up to him to sort it out! This made me smile and chuckle! Gorgeously illustrated too!

We meet Count Dracula after he has completed a six month world tour. He was spreading the the word about his amazing blood orange jelly donuts. These donuts can satisfy vampires and humans alike and this has brought peace to Transylvania. However, not everyone is happy that vampires and humans are now friends. The dastardly Constantine wants to return to the days where vampires and humans were at war. So while Dracula was away he starts driving a wedge between the humans and vampires once more. Now that Dracula is back, can he fix the damage? Only one way to find out.
This equally goofy and spooky graphic novel hits all the right notes. The storyline is borderline absurd, the stakes are somehow life and death while also being absolutely silly and the message at the end of the day is quite wholesome. Dracula's Brunch Club reminded me a bit of Scooby Doo meets Ghosts by Raina Telgemeier. I would give this to any kid that likes humor forward mysteries with a dash of the spooky.

Thank you for the advance copy, Oni Press!
In Dracula's Brunch Club, Brian Gonsar takes a normally dark subject (vampires) and makes it endearing. There is a sinister aspect to the overarching plot, but Keenan Gaybba's illustrations are fun and playful, even with the muted color palette (it is always night time, after all). His style evokes greats like Gravity Falls and Fairly OddParents whilst retaining its own identity. Though this is aimed primarily toward the younger crowd, I found it to be ridiculously cute. I'll definitely be picking up a copy upon release.

There are a lot of dynamics at play that they could identify with as well it taping into that fun creepy element. I really enjoyed the different take on the vampire legend involving the jelly, it was a nice surprise.
