“The Romantic arrives with a beautiful, simple cover that sets the tone and the genre perfectly. What an interesting premise. But also incredibly sad and through provoking. I really enjoyed this entry from cover to last page.

I know this sounds clichéed, but this author really had a way with words. A nice skill for a writer to have. He was able to turn a phrase and thus make his narrative easily digestible and a pleasure to read.

My only major concern was the plot lags here and there. I believe that the cause for this was due to two things. One, the length of the novel is a little long for this particular genre. I’d recommend some strategic cuts to the narrative to help with the pacing. Secondly, I believe the author gets caught in the trap of telling versus showing.

Be sure to show the reader the characters’ emotions and let the reader experience it for themselves. Don’t waste words telling us how he feels. This will help to both move the story along and make it a much more powerful presentation.

That being said, the book is fundamentally well written with few editorial errors. Hadriel is a captivating character and well developed throughout. He is relatable and touches the heart in more ways than one. I believe that the author put his heart and soul into this novel. I look forward to reading more from him.”
