Description

It’s Mercury Retrograde again on the island. Hannah Skye and her Aunt Jewelia are hosting an exclusive dinner party at Skye Manor to celebrate the opening of the 9/9/9 portal. But something goes terribly wrong, and dinner guests are disappearing faster than Hannah and Jewelia can search for clues. Madame Morgan is in danger, and visiting Jezebelle has unearthed something she didn’t seek.

A new sinister force is at play. Hannah will need all the help her animal spirit guides can offer, along with her trusty dream journal, to save her friends and unravel the illusions of what we see . . . and what we don’t.

Exploring the metaphysical themes of duality, portals, identity, mirrors, and reflection, this supernatural, fall-themed fantasy weaves dreams and mystery into an enchanting tale of magick and self-discovery.

Advance Praise

“This captivating story beautifully illustrates how nature, the elements, dreams, and human connection serve as guides, revealing the profound interplay between our physical reality and the unseen dimensions of mind, spirit, and emotion. It reminds us that nothing is working against us—everything conspires to help us grow, evolve, and embrace life's mysteries.
Through an intricately woven narrative, the author explores the next frontier of multidimensional living, showing how our lives are deeply intertwined with others in a grand tapestry of learning and transformation. A visionary and uplifting read that inspires us to see beyond the ordinary and step into the expansive possibilities of existence of the unseen world. This story serves as a reminder that we are spiritual beings have a temporary human experience on earth and that when we only use our five senses, we can get stuck in the illusion of being just physical. The author further encourages us to deepen our awareness and step into our true power by embracing our spiritual and psychic gifts and stepping into who we truly are as multidimensional beings.” – Cathleen Beerkens, Bestselling Author of the award winning book Your Creator Matrix and Founder of A Wellness Revolution

advantage of this auspicious night. During the ceremony, however, something goes terribly wrong. One visitor falls into a mysterious coma, and another disappears. Hannah, with the help of her aunt and friends (both human and cat), must solve the puzzle before it’s too late.

This was a quick, fun read. Like the previous book in the series, “The Dream Haunters,” this book would make for a great fall vacation read or listen. The setting is cozy and nostalgic. The characters, friendly and wise. The plot begins with high-stakes and the tension that comes with searching the grounds of a manor house in a storm.

Really, my only minor issue with this book is the lack of urgency regarding the conflict once the plot kicks off. With one person in a mysterious coma and another missing, the other characters seem to go about their day as if nothing is amiss. They do some research and meet to discuss the issue, but they also go to perform their regular gig in the piano bar and have naps. A little more tension in the plot throughout would have been more believable.

I was happy to see the narrator, Pearl Hewitt, return for this audiobook. Her different approaches to the various characters are entertaining and believable.

Like the first installment, “The Dream Mirrors” is a quick, fun read that fans of witches and cozies will thoroughly enjoy. I’m looking forward to the next installment, “The Dream Dimensions” By Megan Mary, later this year.

I reviewed the first installment of this series last year, and you can read that review here: https://cbcalsing.blogspot.com/2024/10/a-review-of-megan-marys-dream-haunters.html

I received this audiobook from NetGalley.

There were so many good lines in this book. This story used magic to make the reader reflect on their own real life experiences like self doubt. It really emphasizes self reflection while keeping you interested with the magic and mystery of the story.

I was very intrigued by the magic aspect and the dream journal.

I think me not reading/listening to the first two books didn’t hinder my reading journey but would’ve helped with characters and more of a generalized understanding of the magic.

Thank you to NetGalley and Inner Realms publishing for letting me listen to this audiobook!

After finishing The Dream Haunters, the first book in the Witches of Maple Hollow series, I was eager to dive back into the story. Set years later, Hannah returns to Maple Hollow in search of her aunt Jewelia, who vanished during a storm. The arrival of the Dark One, the Illusionix, through the 9-9-9 portal disrupts everything, paralyzing a guest named Jezebelle and leading to the mysterious disappearance of their friend Morgan. With reversal magic failing, Hannah and Jewelia must solve the mirror portal mystery, defeat the Illusionix, revive Jezebelle, and find Morgan before it's too late.
Megan Mary's writing continues to shine with rich descriptions and well-developed characters that add depth to the story. A standout quote from Jewelia, “We must never doubt our ability to effect change, while also remembering that each soul has its own path to walk,” perfectly encapsulates the book's themes. For a captivating exploration of human nature and relationships through a fantastical lens, be sure to read this book after The Dream Haunters!

Skye Manor is hosting a dinner party when one of the guests goes missing. She is found in a coma and then another guest disappears. What is going on and can things be resolved? Hanna and her aunt Jewelia will use their animals spirit guides and the mirrors to unravel the mysteries. A dream diary will be important.

Well written and narrated fantasy novel (I listened to the audiobook). Good characters in this mystical novel. Lives plod on as research is undertaken to find out what is going on.

Mystical and meta-physics fictional fantasy story. I read book one, but listened to book two as an audiobook. I preferred book two more, maybe partly due to actually liking the audiobook format more. If you can read/listen to book one first, this book follows on from that with the same style, characters and cats. Megan Mary’s story telling involves letting us listen to the characters thoughts, and this was more enjoyable for me in narrated form. As for the story Hannah has settled into life on the Island. A dinner party is planned but soon things go awry. Thank you to Inner Realms Publishing and NetGalley for the audio ARC. The views expressed are all mine, freely given.

Book 2 in the series sees more mystery, more magical powers and a lot of portals. If you love witchy vibes reminiscent of Charmed and Sabrina, I can only recommend this series. It’s a fun read and it was a joy exploring the powers of our FMC Hannah. Thru mirrors, portals and dreams she needs to find her way to solve the mystery of her friend that goes missing.
An abundance of talking cats, is an added bonus 🐈‍⬛🐈😻
The narrator lends an enjoyable tone to the audiobook, which definitely helps set the mood.

Thank you to the author and NetGalley for the eARC

I quite enjoyed this as an audiobook! The narrator did a fantastic job I would love to listen to more audiobooks by her.

This is the 2nd in a series and continued the mystery at Skye Manor. I liked that it quickly had me hooked with people going missing and some even falling into a mysterious coma. I also really liked the relationship between her and her aunt as well as how the author described the world and brought it to life. It did a good job having the character really examine herself, her soul, and her dreams which brings about self-reflection when reading. I would have liked for there to be a bit more of a sense of urgency throughout when the situation seemed quite dire.

This would be a great fall read filled with cemeteries, witches, and cats!

Thank you to the publisher, author, and NetGalley for the ARC. Opinions are my own.
