Description
One splash changed everything!
Poor relation Kynthea Petrelli never dreamed she’d have a Season, but she is getting one…even if only as a companion to her younger, wayward cousin Zoe. Though Kynthea loves the girl, keeping up with her wild ideas is difficult, especially when Zoe sets her cap for England’s most eligible bachelor, and decides a love potion is the way to win his heart.
Unfortunately, it isn’t Zoe who trips and spills the potion on the oh-so-perfect Duke of Harle, but Kynthea. And before long, she finds herself the center of a scandal—and unexpectedly, the object of his desire.
As Kynthea’s reputation unravels, the duke can’t resist acting as her unlikely champion. But society expects him to marry for advantage and his mother is demanding a proper alliance. Yet the duke finds himself increasingly bewitched by the one woman he's forbidden to pursue.
It’s an impossible situation. But then, love potions aren’t for the faint of heart…

In short, this was an absolute delight. A romance brimming with sweetness, a cousin who cares for her relatives like a sister, mysterious suspense and more are all here. The Love Potion has everything one could want. I will absolutely read more by this talented wordsmith. The Love Potion is escapism at its finest.

What an absolutely deliciously witty story this is! Kynthia is a poor relation to a very horse-obsessed 16 year old cousin, Zoe. Zoe has her eye on the Duke, or is it his horses? This madcap adventure will keep you entertained and heartbroken at the same time. I enjoyed Ras and Nate’s relationship, as his only one true friend. His response to Zoe is understandable and the way he connects with Kynthia is so adorable. All the twists and turns will keep you guessing and there are many holes in the story yet to be filled (surely coming in future novels, I hope) I was a bit confused at times with Ras’s feeling for Zoe, but perhaps that is what the author wanted. No crass language (YAY- thank you, author) and wonderfully done intimate scenes. The scene with Ras, Zoe and Kynthia towards the end was pricelessly funny too! I was truly amazed at the last chapter- that took a lot of plot design to work and the author did a great job with it! I have not read any from this author, so this is a great start for me!
I received this story for free and these are my own opinions

Lady Eleanor Hartwell is not your typical debutante. A passionate botanist with little interest in the marriage mart, she stumbles into trouble when one of her herbal experiments accidentally produces a bona fide love potion. The unwitting victim was Lord Lucian Blackwood, a notorious rake with a reputation as dark as his wardrobe. When Lucian finds himself inexplicably enamored with Eleanor, the results are equal parts hilarious and heartwarming.
Lyons masterfully balances humor and heart, breathing life into a well-trodden premise. Rather than leaning too heavily on the magical elements, she uses the potion as a spark—igniting a relationship that deepens through genuine connection, sparkling dialogue, and slow-burning tension. The chemistry between Eleanor and Lucian crackles from their first encounter, and their journey from reluctant allies to something far more tender is handled with nuance and care.
This was such a fun Regency romance! The characters felt wonderfully real, each with their own unique quirks and personalities. I loved how the romantic tropes—especially fake courtship and forced proximity were handled with so much charm and care. The prose brought everything to life with a perfect mix of wit, warmth, and laughter, making the story feel like a cozy escape.
Thanks to dragonblade publishing and netgalley for the arc!
