Description
Sergio Durand, renowned photographer and playboy extraordinaire, plans to welcome the New Year in style. Along with his brother Adrien, they're off to the winter wonderland of Lake Placid, ready for a holiday filled with skiing, laughter, and good company. Their group includes best friend Holden, his wife Rose, and their charming son Henry—a perfect celebration... until it isn't.
The festive spirit turns sour when Sergio crosses paths with Jeremy Weir, the one who got away. After a series of blunders leaves everyone around him fuming, Sergio finds himself caught in a bizarre twist of fate: a time loop forcing him to relive New Year's Eve repeatedly. With each reset, Sergio scrambles to mend broken bonds with his brother, pacify a disgruntled Rose, and perhaps, rekindle a lost love with Jeremy.
Can Sergio navigate through his mistakes and salvage the relationships most important to him, or is he doomed to spend eternity making the same missteps on the last night of the year? Dive into 300 New Year's Eves to find out if Sergio can discover the true meaning of the holiday spirit and secure a second chance at love.

This was a cute take on Groundhogs Day that didn't shy away from the fact that it was a take on Groundhogs Day.
As bisexual disaster, Sergio finds himself reliving New Years Eve over and over until he can not only make things right with a past romance but also his brother and is sister in law, you throw in a wintery location and a dash of figure skating and you've got yourself a sweet little romcom.
I appreciate Sergio and Jeremy having a bit of prior chemistry before getting reacquainted on NYE. It helped make Jeremy falling for Sergio in one day seem much more believable and overall less icky than if they had just met. I also like that this was not just a romance, but Sergio was also tasked with making things right with his family and figuring out things about himself to improve upon. It wasn't all just about getting into Jeremy's pants.
The author did a great job of showing the passage of the same day over and over without being horribly repetitive for the reader. It was great to see Sergio's character growth. He was also a very charming and funny character. I will say, I'm not a kid person and personally found Henry a tad irritating (sorry!). It was also brought up that Sergio feels responsible for his parent's death but overall that seemed kind of glossed over.
Overall this was a fast, fun read. A nice mix of romance and character growth. Prefect to read around the holidays!

Listen, I love @kccarmichael_’s writing. I read Boystown Heartbreakers earlier this year (the audio was LOVELY) and I just finished another book The Kennedy Rule. Needless to say, I was SUPER excited to get this one.
At first, you think Sergio is this jerk who just hits and quits while he works and does not much else. As you peel the layers back on this story, there’s genuine depth and fully fleshed out backstory that truly endears you to him right away. You can’t help but root for him to succeed!
Ya girl is a sap for a time loop. Guy who wants to be better? Falling in love with his love interest more every day? Feeling like he was finally figuring it out? Ughhh the romance of it all. I just love love and this story was a perfect example of when a time loop works.
Jeremy, my sweet, sweet boy. Sergio at first maybe didn’t deserve him but by the end, Sergio was worshipping the ground Jeremy skated on.
This was a lighthearted, genuinely sweet and lovely romance. I had a blast reading it and could not put it down. I wasn’t able to highlight for some reason but I SWOOOOOOONED hard over some of the dialogue in this.
Fully recommend!

a gorgeous cover leads you into a gorgeous take on the groundhog day, time loop story layout. this was everything the world needs at the moment. something festive, comforting and fun. but with all the cosy and deep emotional connections you need too.
i was rooting for Sergio and loved his journey and how he handled each new time or moment he was up against. but it had that lightness of touch a book like this needs so it never become preachy or too heavy. there that humour lil to this authors writing and i loved that. i felt the giggle and bi grins coming far too often than was publicly acceptable.
i then felt every single time that Sergio lost the man he loves every time. its likes no the end the end dont let it be ANOTHER day.
Sergio wasn't a perfect character. he had parts he need to be chipped away and take note from and i think that is what made his character more digestible. because he wasn't perfect and you did wonder what he'd done, doing and whats to come. because you do truly believe this chap wants to make amends and you do truly believe hes doing the work so to speak.
its also not about changing things in order for love to line up. or changing time or occurrences so somehow people changed or minds we almost manipulated. i found that refreshing and a nice touch.
all in all a lovely book. it draws you in and you want to find out what is going to happen for our characters on each day and also then how the end would fair for them.
i definitely want to read more from this author. i really liked the way they wrote.

Carmichael has taken Ground Day and made it better.
Throughout the novel it was beautiful to see how the main character growth and learned. The ending is earned in this one which I enjoyed.
Definitely worth reading through this one especially as we approach the holidays.

This was a fun time loop story. We watch Sergio wake up repeatedly on New Year’s Eve trying to figure out what he needs to do to break the time loop he is experiencing. Along the way, we watch Sergio’s character growth as he turns into a really likeable character – which he was definitely not at the beginning of the story. Sergio works every repeated day to mend his relationships with Jeremy (his one that got away), his brother Adrien, and his best friend’s wife Rose and learns a lot along the way.
I recommend this to readers looking for a fast-pace charming second chance romance with a found family element.

I love anything involving time travel/time loops. I've rarely read a romance novel with this context and enjoyed it. But this one surprised me. The couple, the way they get to know each other little by little each day, has a subtlety and depth I've rarely read. It's very well written, and with each loop, I became more connected to these characters.
I loved it. Thanks to NetGalley and the author for the eARC.
