There are times Avery has to keep her man on track, “is that what you really want to do now?” She snaked a hand across the seat and settled her warm palm on his thigh. “Because I thought we had bigger, more important plans. ” Her hand slid upward, closer to his aching c***." Grey just is not a patient man, “no time for subtle seduction. I’m ready to come, and it’s got to be inside you.” I love this series, Carly's characters, and her books I'm always looking forward to seeing whose next in the line up.

I enjoy reading Carly Phillips. Her stories range from deeply emotional, to comedic masterpieces or coming of age. Dare to Rock has all of the above. Grey has lived every dream he's always wanted but he left behind his most cherished possession his heart. That belongs to Avery. Avery's struggle with lifelong insecurities stem from childhood. In Grey she believed she had found the one person who would put her first and not skip out on her. Looks like she was wrong. My introduction to the Dare family was with Dare to Love (Ian and Riley) and Dare to Desire (Alex and Madison). Dare to Rock lives up to Carly Phillips legacy of great romance. The Dare to Love series are great stories that touch the heart and show the strength of the human spirit. I received an ARC of Dare to Rock in exchange for an honest review.

Utterly fantastic. This is Carly Phillips at her best.

This is the seventh book in Carly Phillips Dare series. While I haven't read all of the series, I can say that this book can be read as a stand alone but readers will probably prefer getting a chance to know all of the family members. Of course each book does have a recap of the crazy Dare family if by chance you haven't read the other books. Robert Dare is actually the patriarch of two separate branches of the Dare family and his actions have impacted each of his children in a very different and lasting way. For Avery, she is prone to anxiety attacks and lacks confidence that any relationship could work for her. So when Grey, her high school boyfriend, comes back into her life after becoming a huge rock star, she is convinced that he isn't planning on staying and will once again leave her devastated. Grey wants to convince her otherwise but he must deal with her family that doesn't trust him, a vindictive manager and a psycho stalker/fan.
Once again, Carly Phillips has created a great cast of characters, an intriguing plot and some very hot romance. I look forward to the next installment, as well as catching up on a few of the previous books that I have missed out on.

I have loved all the books by Carly Phillips I have picked up. This ARC was no different. In Dare to Rock we get to see Avery and her journey to happiness. For this girl, she's sort of trapped by her past. The man and only man she has loved left her to follow his dreams, now he's back and wants a chance to renew their past. Her father is constantly making her life difficult with her family and now she has a stalker.

Grey is done with being a famous rocker. He has had a hole in his life since he left Avery behind and he wants her back. Proving to her he's serious is going to be difficult. Dealing with life changes, crazy fans, and managing life. Things get rough for these two and I enjoyed it!!!

This was a fantastic book. Every book in the series gets better and better. This was a fairly light read, both characters Avery and Grey have loved each other since they were teens. Avery feels every man leaves her so she tries to resist Grey. Grey wants her and believes in them as a couple.

While i would have liked to see a little jealousy on Grey's part and Avery resist the sexy rock star, she falls pretty easily for him. Avery also suffers from anxiety disorder and it was really cool watching her deal with the crowds and her anxiety.

Then there is fun with a stalker and the rock band manager and Grey's BFF to keep this book interesting. It is one of my favorites because its very romantic.

Avery has never gotten over the hurt when her ex, Grey Kingston left her and everything he knew, to seek fame and fortune in LA. It's been 7 years since she's heard from him, so when she receives a couple of tickets to his concert with back stage passes, she decides to take the risk and see him. Grey Kingston finally has everything he worked hard for, except for the girl he left behind, Avery. Hoping to make it up to her by sending her tickets to his concert, Avery walks back stage at the same time some groupies start to hug and kiss him. Not the way he wanted to talk to her, he knows he has some work to,do. Deciding he's had enough of the rocker life, he moves back to Miami to prove to Avery that he is a changed man.
As Grey and Avery start to get to know each other again, a crazed fan starts stalking Avery and threatening her. It seems that for every move he makes to solidify his feelings for her, something happens to make her retreat. Can they make this relationship work and put their past behind? This was a wonderful story between two people who loved each other once and are given the chance to reunite and love again.

Bravo! I adored this second chance love story. It had rich details and dynamic chemistry. The main and support characters were interesting and not too complex. The tension was spot on and the resolution at the end was beautiful. Well done. I look forward to reveiwing the next book in the series.

Dare to Rock is the seventh installment, this series the “Dare to Love” is based on the Dare family. Dare to Rock is a rocker romance, but a bit different than most rock star romances. In this book, it begins with the scene where Avery comes to Grey’s show. Grey wanted Avery at his concert and he wanted to see her again, but when a crazy groupie is all over him despite his efforts to push her away, Avery sees everything and runs away from it and the life he lives. Then it skips to the current time, where Avery and Grey have been living their own lives. Grey has made an effort to keep in touch with Avery, give her unique and special gifts, and wants her back. Avery is afraid, mostly because of her past. She suffers from panic attacks. Avery when she was nine, learned a truth that her father had a affair with another woman and kids and wanted Avery to donate her bone marrow for a sister who had cancer. Avery did so, and took it in stride, but all the press was horrid and she never fully healed, and never confronted her father about her true feelings about the past. We have an additional element in the story…the crazed fan. We see the element of intrigue and danger increase while Avery and Grey are relearning each other and building a new trust again. The sex scenes are plenty, yet sexy and fun. These two tend to be very playful with each other and I liked how they responded so well to each other. What I also enjoyed was the Dare family…the siblings, they were fun to get to know and the differing personalities was very unique. Even though this is the 7th book, it can definitely be read as a stand alone.

This is the seventh book in the Dare to Love series and is the story of Avery Dare and Grey Kingston. Although it can be read as a standalone, you would have more understanding of the Dare family and their dynamic if you had read the previous books in the series. Dare to Love is both a second chance, and rock star, romance.

Grey and Avery were high school sweethearts before he left to pursue his dream of becoming a famous rock star. Now, five years later, Grey has grown tired of the rock star lifestyle and is ready to return home. He has never forgotten Avery and wants to rekindle their relationship, but this is not going to be as easy as he thought as he has to convince Avery to take a chance on him. Despite never having gotten over Grey, Avery is reluctant to get involved with him again as she felt abandoned when he left her years before. Undeterred by Avery's resistance, Grey sets about proving to her that they belong together. As Avery and Grey grow closer, Avery's safety is threatened by the emergence of a stalker and Grey is determined to protect Avery at all costs.

Dare to Rock was a very enjoyable read. Grey and Avery were both likable leads and they had sizzling chemistry. The depths of their feelings for each other came across well and there was no shortage of heat. The story had the perfect amount of steam, drama and romance to keep me captivated throughout, and I would definitely recommend it to lovers of this genre.

This is the perfect and easy read to top off your day. I can always count on Carly to give me the exact amount of heat, drama and romance to keep me entertained.

Avery Dare is a video blogger of all things fashion and she's managed to make a decent living off of it. She's pretty much living my dream life (only insert books for fashion, duh). ANYWAY, she and Grey were a thing back when they were adorable eighteen year olds. While they were both young, the love was real...at least Avery thought it was...until the day that Grey left with barely a word to go and pursue his rock star dream.

When Grey announces that he's leaving that lifestyle behind in order to settle down, he's determined to settled down with Avery. I was a little bit annoyed that he basically declares "oh, I'm ready for Avery now, so therefore I shall have her" when he had been flitting around from woman to woman all of these years. BUT I DIGRESS.

Needless to say, Grey has a lot to prove - not only to me - but to Avery. She hasn't quite bought into his 'I want you back and I mean forever' song and dance either [hehe], and I loved her skepticism. Really, it was sort of nice. Granted, it doesn't last for very long (which I was also very ok with) because she sort of loses the ability to make rational decisions while Grey is touching her. or breathing on her. Of course, while Grey and Avery tangle in the sheets, Grey's stardom starts to twist up their lives.

This is a really fun, extremely enjoyable story. Rocker books are extremely sexy, and former rocker turned monogamous book boyfriend is up there at the top of my book boyfriend list. Dare to Rock catches us up with the Dare siblings, allows Avery to mark her place in this world in a really positive way, mixes in a stalker and gives us some seriously sexy scenes...*licks lips*

Carly makes writing these books look easy - and I know it's not. I flicked right through the pages, fell into the plot, squeezed my thighs together to ease the sexual tension and soared with happiness as Carly gave me exactly what I needed. loved it!

I have read every book in this series. Every time I think "this one was my favorite". Grey is a Rock God that never forgot where he came from. Avery is a quite professional blogger -vlogger- who goes out of her way to help others. This book was full of some truly hot scenes that made me scrim a little. So yes this one was really my favorite.

Carly Phillips is on of my favorites. I'm never disappointed with her books and this story was no different. Grey is a huge rock star who decides he doesn't want this life anymore and wants to go home and reconnect with his high school sweetheart he left years ago for fame. The only problem Grey sees is, Avery Dare might not want him back. But when they reconnect their sizzling connection is still there. But the question is, will Avery surrender her heart to him again?

"I think orgasms are the cure for migraines."
Dare to Rock was my introduction to Carly Phillips and I admit that it was the fact it was a rockstar romance that convinced me to give it a try. I read it as a standalone and don't feel like I suffered any confusion even though it was #7 in the series. I enjoyed meeting the other characters and was intrigued by the brief glimpses into their relationships. It was enough to make me interested in going back to read their stories in the previous installments. But it's the future story of Tyler that really has me intrigued. I felt the tension and the secrets below the surface and my inquiring mind wants to know what he's hiding, and what he's packing (wink-wink). Tyler is Avery's bossy and overprotective brother who shows up when she doesn't answer her phone to make sure she's safe. What raised my radar was that he was being growly with her roommate...hmmm...I detected some sexual undertones and avoidance. Yup, there's definitely a story there. Anyway, back to the rockstar. Grey and Avery were high school sweethearts. He rocked her world in more ways than one, and then he left her to rock the stage. He broke her heart and she never really moved on, finding that the stuffed shirts she was dating didn't do it for her when compared to him. However; she did move on in other areas of her life. She is happy with her career as a fashion and makeup blogger with a large following. Surprisingly, her rockstar ex-boyfriend follows her blog. Grey's never forgotten her or forgiven himself for how he left her so abruptly to follow his dream. When he finally realizes what he was searching for wasn't where he was going, he turned around and headed back to the beginning. But is it too late? Will she forgive him? Will the reality be as good as the memories? Will the connection still be there? Will her badass brothers let him anywhere near their baby sister? Oh yeah, if facing her family isn't bad enough, how about the stalker situation? And then to make it really exciting we have more family drama and the paparazzi to stir the pot. And best of all, the 18 yr old boy that left her came back as a muscled, tattooed, dominating dirty-talker...Yummy!

I received this free eARC from NetGalley in exchange for my honest review.

I haven't read any of the novels in this series, but I really enjoyed this individual story! I have a feeling that I will want to start from the beginning and find out how the Dare brothers fell for their loves.

But Gray and Avery are amazing together - even though they are complete opposites. Which just makes it even more awesome when they are together. And the whole situation with the stalker thing was expected, but added enough suspense to keep the reader wondering what was going to happen next.

I loved how Avery took something that was traumatic when she was a kid and kept helping people in need. The prom for the kids in the hospital was an amazing idea. I wish all hospitals will do that!

Really liked this book. So glad I got an eARC and will be looking out for more by Carly Phillips!

I can't believe this is the 7th book in this series and it didn't seem that long ago when I read the first book Dare To Love after its released. I did miss a few books in between but no problems getting into this story.

Grey and Avery had a history 5 years ago but Grey left to pursue his dreams of being a singer. Despite him supposedly having everything that he had ever wanted now, there was still an emptiness and he knew just what he needed.

Avery was badly hurt when Grey left even though she was proud and happy that he had made it big. She attends his concert after being gifted the concert tickets but after seeing a crazy groupie with him backstage, she knew she couldn't risk her heart again and even more so now that Grey is a public figure.

Grey does not make it easy for Avery and the connection between them was stronger than before. Just when they decided to take that step closer, Avery was suddenly thrown into unwanted spotlight as the girl who broke up the band.

It was nice reading about the strong ties that the Dare family has although a few of them were missing. I must say that I don't have a good impression of Sienna especially the incident at the hotel. But well I hope Carly Phillips will change my opinion of her if Sienna gets her story.

I really enjoyed the banter between Grey and Avery. Because of what they had gone through, they totally get each other. Their sexual scenes were hot. I did however feel that the matter involving Emerald and Simon was under-developed and dealt with too abruptly. I also wish there was an epilogue as I felt the ending was a little rushed.

All in all, this is still an enjoyable read. Carly Phillips never fails to nail it with drama, heat and sweet romance. I see tension between super bossy Tyler and Ella and I'm be waiting to read about them.

Many thanks to Netgalley and CP Publishing for a advance copy of this book in exchange for a honest review.

I admit to skipping a few books in this series. I was working my way through the Dare to Love series in audiobooks when I was presented with the opportunity to review an ARC of Dare to Rock, I couldn't pass up the opportunity. The awesome thing is, the fact that I skipped four books in the middle of the series didn't affect my enjoyment of this book, which is a testament to Carly Phillips' storytelling abilities. So, if you've skipped a few - or even all - of the Dare to Love books, never fear.

I've been on a second chance love kick now for awhile. Dare to Rock takes two of my favorite things - a second chance love story and a romance with a rocker - and marries them together. Avery and Grey were together when Grey was just in a garage band. When he had the chance to pick up and move to LA to make it big, he did it without much thought to Avery or her feelings. Ten years later, Grey is giving up the lifestyle and wants to pick up with Avery where they left off. But, convincing her to go along with that may be one of the hardest things he's ever done.

Avery has gotten used to men letting her down and making her feel second best. Her father did it in spectacular fashion when she was only 8, and the effects of his actions are still far reaching. In every one of the Dare to Love books, I hate Robert Dare a little bit more for the damage he did to his children with his selfish ways. Cheating is a hard line for me, but Robert not only cheated on his wife and five kids, but he had a whole other family with his mistress. The knowledge of the other family devastated his children and made having relationships of their own much harder. Can you blame them? With a father figure like that, it's no wonder things like trust and unconditional love are hard concepts for them to master.

Avery is no different. Although she managed to eventually fall in love, Grey left her too. All of Avery's relationships that came after him were shallow and pointless. Her job and her volunteer work with kids with cancer are what give her life meaning. She has a great relationship with all her siblings, even her half-siblings. But, she still wants to be loved and accepted by her father just like any other girl, and it still stings so much when he shows preferential treatment to his children by his mistress. It broke my heart.

Grey has always regretted leaving Avery the way he did, and now that he's had it with the groupies and the booze and drugs, he's decided to come back to Miami and win her back. I'll tell you one thing - I give Grey an A for effort. He never let up. Even when Avery rebuffed and refused him, he kept coming. Because he knew what he wanted. And, the best part was, he also knew he had screwed up. Majorly. Grey owned it, apologized, and set about trying to make it right and win her back.

I love a determined man. I'm so glad that Dare to Rock was in dual POV, because otherwise I would've realized how insecure Grey was regarding his relationship with Avery. He has good looks, money and fame, but now that he's older, he's realized that all he really needs is her, and he's afraid he's screwed up too much to ever get her back. But, Grey doesn't give up on her, and that's what I love most about him. He knows he made a big mistake when he tossed Avery aside, and he comes back and he owns it. He tells her how sorry he is and he sets about making amends in any way he can - and all his actions made it impossible not to love him.

Dare to Rock was relatively low on the drama and angst scale and pretty high on the heat. Avery and Grey had some wicked chemistry, and they acted on it frequently. With these things, coupled with the dual POV and the rock star vibe, Dare to Rock was a quick, awesome read for me. Now, all that's left to do is back up and read all the books in the middle that I've missed.

Avery Dare lives a peaceful life in Miami, working as a fashion video blogger. She has a good support system consisting of family and friends, and when she isn't spending time with them, she volunteers at a local hospital where she helps children fighting cancer. She steers clear of romance, because the last time she fully invested her heart in someone, she got burned when he walked away from her to conquer his quest for fame and fortune. In her eyes, no one has ever quite measured up to Grey Kingston, she dreams of a life with him often and has never been able to let go of her memories of him, even though he broke her heart so long ago. So, when he sends her a ticket to his show, she jumps at the chance to go see him, hoping they can pick up where they left off. Only when she sees him surrounded by other women backstage, she decides that maybe it just wasn't meant to be and it might finally be time to fully let him go...

Grey Kingston has never gotten over Avery Dare, and if anything his feelings for her have deepened over the years, for him she has always been the girl he let slip away. He left her behind to seek a life of fame and fortune, and while he achieved that goal, there was always one thing missing from his life...Avery.With his time on the road coming to a end, he decides it's time to make a plan that will win her back, so he sends her a ticket to his show, hoping he can put himself back in her good graces, only to screw up the opportunity when she sees him surrounded by a bunch of backstage groupies. Not ready admit defeat and give up on his plan, he continues to keep himself in her thoughts by sending her gifts and texts, and hopes it's just enough to open the door to her heart once again and possibly cement a place in her life once he moves back home...

This is the seventh installment in the "Dare to Love" series by Ms. Phillips, and I think it could easily be read as a standalone title, however, once you read it I think you'll be dying to know more about the Dare family. I have read several installments in the series and have truly loved every one of them! She has a special way of creating each story to be strong enough to stand on it's own, but also includes just enough details about the other family members to feed readers appetites and keep them updated on their favorite characters in the series.

I have truly enjoyed every minute I have spent reading about this family, and encourage you to add this series to the top of your reading list, each book contains some very memorable characters that will steal your heart and leave you with a smile on your face!

Grey Kingston knows better than anyone that the road to stardom is a lonely one.

Lead guitarist and singer in the band Tangled Royal’s the time has come for him to reflect and reevaluate his life. One nightstands and skanky groupies are getting old.
He wants more control over his life and his music.

Second chances, everyone deserves one and Grey is hoping Avery Dare will throw him a lifeline.

As a teenager he left behind his family and Avery to pursue a career in rock in roll.
Avery Dare is a successful blogger from a well to do family.
She suffers from anxiety due to a traumatic event that occurred when she was a child and along with Grey comes the paparazzi,
and a chance her heart could once again be broken.

I loved Grey Kingston, he is all alpha but not in a bossy oppressive way. He eased his way back into Avery’s life with tenderness and patience. He let nature take its course hoping she still had feelings for him.
Avery was filled with trepidation about Grey’s return but deep down she still loved him.
She was stronger than she thought. I liked that she wasn’t a whiner and was willing to proceed with caution.
After all, Grey was known to have women hanging all over him. It had been sometime since she was with a man and craved Grey’s hands on her body.

Divine orgasms,

a crazy stalker and a double-dealing manger made this an entertaining read with alpha men, arousing steam and no cliffhanger.

Avery is emotionally and mentally hurt due to actions of both her dad and Grey.
Grey has come back into Avery's life and with him comes media exposure and an unstable fan.
Their story is rather sweet at times, sexy too. their reconnection isn't fraught with angst from them, more from her brother Tyler ( I am so looking forward to his story), Grey's manager and a fan.
Story flows well. I cried big tears in parts of this book...I'm a reader that tends to feel the characters emotions as if I'm right there with them!
Highly recommended reading if you like sweetly sexy reads

This is a good second chance romance with a twist. I really loved Avery and Grey. Avery is more forgiving than I probably would have been! I hadn't read the other books in the series but it didn't detract from my enjoyment at all. Now I will probably go back and read them. Carly writes great stories with characters you can't help but love. I only deducted a star because of the overuse of the word 'juices'. That word really bothers me. Thats just me though and it probably won't bother other people! My review will be on my blog as part of the book tour on August 9th!

This is Book 7 in the Dare to Love series and once again Carly Phillips does a wonderful job. Avery Dare and her former teenage boyfriend, rock star Grey Kingston work to rekindle a relationship surrounded by so many issues. Full review can be found at Fresh Fiction.

Cute! I enjoyed this one, it was a different take on the new "rocker" fad out there... someone coming back down from being famous, instead of on their way up. Clever. Also clever is that Gray and Avery have a past, a connection already - but need to get to know each other again. I liked Gray's determination... he's grown up and is ready to work for what he wants. Swoon!

DARE TO ROCK by Carly Phillips, what is there left to say after that, a book about one of the Dare siblings, what can be better than that, nothing and as with all the other Dare books, this one is no less than a stellar read.

The story in this book was very well written and very well developed and the plot is fast paced and will keep you on the edge of your seat through the whole book whether it be will suspense or a moment of heavy breathing after a sex scene. The characters in this book are amazingly written which makes it easy to fall in love with Avery and Grey, and we cannot forget about all the other Dare siblings that are mentioned or make an appearance in this book, the only one that need not be there is Avery's father, he is a piece of work and does not deserve any page time as far as I am concerned.

This book is set around the reconnection of Avery with her high school boyfriend who now happens to be a famous rock star, and the center of attention. Avery is a girl who wants no part of the lime light after what she went through when she was younger after her fathers secrets were revealed to the world, but is thrown back into the spotlight when she is spotted with Grey Kingston, the lead singer for Tangled Royal. Grey has always wanted Avery, even though he left her when they were 18 to chase his dream and is now going to have to work hard to prove to Avery that he is there to stay and that he will stand by her even though there are those that are trying to rip them apart. Who is responsible to the nasty comments on Avery's blog, the writing on her door, and will Avery finally find the strength she needs to be able to stand up the her father? Will Grey win the women he has wanted forever and will he find out who is targeting Avery before its to late? This book is a wonderful journey of rediscovering and reconnecting and of course some hot, hot sex.

I am so in love with DARE TO ROCK by Carly Phillips the story genius and you can sign up right now to read the next installment of the Dare family.

Dare to Rock by Carly Phillips the seventh and newest books in the Dare to Love Series. This story focuses on Avery Dare and Grey Kingston. Avery Dare had been harmed more than most with her father’s deception when she was young. Despite that – she gave her bone marrow to her until then unknown half sister. Avery has come a long way since then; she has struggled to find her path and has found herself with becoming a blogger and a video blogger. She has never forgotten about Grey.

Grey Kingston left at 18 without a lot of fanfare or goodbyes. He works hard and has become a famous person with a large rockn’ roll fan club. He wants Avery and she wants him. Both know his life is so out in the open and this is a concern.

Love the Dare Family. The older brothers acting all caveman-like kill me each time. Another great read by Carly Phillips.

I am in love with these Dare siblings. Carly Phillips really knows how to rev you up while tugging at the heartstrings. She write red hot romance as so few others do. “Dare to Rock” is no exception.
I really enjoyed seeing Avery take hold of her life and really come into her own, fighting for herself and what’s important, despite the lasting effects finding out her father had another family when as a small child he needed her to donate to save his other daughter who was sick with cancer. She’s quite feisty. You get a small taste of Avery in other Dare books, and want to know her, but don’t really get to know the real her until she does in “Dare to Rock.”
And, Grey is the hunky rock star, who swoops back in to reclaim the one woman who every really mattered. But, he knows there’s a lot of clean up he’s gotta do, crow to eat and roads to mend before Avery will even consider taking him back. While he knows taking off without a word as a teen and fully living the rock lifestyle, and all that entails, for several years, was the right thing for him to do. He just wishes he hadn’t trashed his relationships with those who loved him and he loved most, even if he didn’t know it at the time — specifically is mom and step-dad, and of course, Avery. His Very.
Phillips’ writes passion like no other. She does hot sex and knows just when to add a layer of emotion, where to punch up dialog, just the right strokes to really make it steam off the pages. And boy does it! Need a cool drink of something or your honey near by after reading some of these.
Phillips is awesome at writing vulnerable yet strong characters and their equally flawed perfect matches.
I really want more of roommate Ella and Avery’s brother.... the sparks those two are throwing off ....!
“Dare to Rock” can be read as a stand alone story or as book 7 in the Dare to Love series. Just know that as is the case with all of Phillips’ books, don't pick it up and start it unless you have plenty of time to spend with it.
“Dare to Rock” grabs you from the first chapter and keeps you reading to the very end. Don’t start a Phillips book near bedtime and expect to get any sleep.
“Dare to Rock,” like all of Phillips’ books is so good you won’t be able to put it down, and while you are as excited as the kids at the end of the hospital’s prom at the end of the book, you are so invested in the characters, you can’t help but want more... a thrill that makes you anxious for the next Dare sibling’s story.

You really can never go wrong with Carly Phillips. This was a great second chance romance. Avery and Grey had a high school romance until Grey took off to follow his dream and prove his deadbeat father wrong. He does it in spades becoming a world famous rock start. But Grey has discovered that fame and fortune aren't as sweet as he thought they'd be, especially without Avery in his life.
Avery has not had an easy time of it despite being a Dare. Wracked with anxiety and feeling abandoned by her father who has not one but two families, Avery tries to live her own life and move on from her very public past.
When Grey comes back into her life Avery is determined to enjoy it while it lasts while Grey wants to show her that he wants forever. But will that be possible with a stalker, and irate ex-manager, and Avery's big brothers all against them?

As usual with Phillips' books Grey and Avery set the pages ablaze with passion and romance. Grey is truly swoon-worthy and totally irresistible. This was a great read from beginning to end.

Dare to Rock is the sizzling-hot, seventh addition to the Dare to Love series by Carly Phillips. I've always loved Phillips' books, so when given the opportunity to read Dare to Rock for review I jumped on it. A second-chance romance between Avery Dare and Grey Kingston, Dare to Rock has heartfelt romantic scenes, the insanity of the paparazzi, sexy rock stars, and sexual chemistry that is so intense I thought my Kindle was going to melt. As with all the books in the Dare to Love series, it can be read as a standalone. I would, however, recommend reading the books in order to get a complete feel of the Dare family dynamics.

Avery Dare is a professional vlogger/blogger that shares her knowledge of makeup and fashion with the world via social media. She is a very sweet young woman, and a bit naïve. She still suffers from anxiety from the backlash caused from her father's scandalous past, which makes her a bit of a recluse aside from her close friends and family. Although it seems like she lives her life in the public eye because of her chosen profession as a vlogger, the reality is that Avery prefers to avoid being the center of attention as much as possible.

Grey Kingston is Avery's first love and her first heartbreak. He left her behind in his search for fame and fortune. Determined to prove his father wrong, Grey sets out to achieve success with his music as a rock star. Contrary to Avery's beliefs that Grey completely forgot about her, she has never been far from his thoughts. Grey comes back hoping that Avery will give him another chance. He has to overcome Avery's reluctance of being in the lime light along with her misgivings of trusting him with her heart again. It is immediately clear that the chemistry between the two is still there when they meet again. Grey is not above using the attraction that sparks between them to lure Avery back to him.

Dare to Rock by Carly Phillips is a titillating rock star romance. Jam-packed with gorgeous and engaging characters, family drama, paparazzi, stalkers, and scandals Dare to Rock is a book that is hard to put down once you start it. It is a fun romantic read with a little suspense thrown in that keeps the story moving at a fast pace. I love the Dare family and I can't wait to read the next book. I'm kind of hoping it will be Tyler's story. If you have not read the Dare to Love series yet, I highly recommend you do.

Dare to Love series Book 7

Review copy provided by the Publisher

Where should I start? I’m searching for the right words…GAH!!! This book was so over the top fabulous! Just when I think that Carly Phillips couldn’t possibly make the next book in this series any better than the last…she bloody well blows me out of the water! I have gobbled up this series from book 1! The Dare family have become important to me. I know, I know, they’re fictional! But I want to hear about all their struggles and triumphs.

Grey Kingston. Just the name alone incites all sorts of yummy daydreams! Seriously, the guy is that freakin’ hot! Grey has grown tired of the fast life as rock star. He loves his music and he’s not leaving the industry all together, but he needs to slow down. He wants to put down roots and start the next stage of his life. He wants to connect with his mother and stepfather. He misses family and home but he isn’t sure where to start or even how. Grey’s never forgotten the girl he left behind to pursue his dreams of stardom, Avery Dare. He has loved her from afar and now he wants her back! And can I just say, when this smokin’ male gets his mind set on winning his lady loves heart, he puts on a full force assault! Panty melting assault! Ummm…I think I might have fallen hard for this fictional character. Hey! I never claimed to be completely sane!

Avery Dare feels like the forgotten daughter. At least in her fathers eyes. She sacrificed so much of herself as a child to help a sibling she didn’t even know existed. And she wouldn’t change it for anything. She is however, hungry for her fathers love and approval. Grey broke Avery’s heart when he left her years before to start a music career, but she has never forgotten how much she loved him. Protecting her heart is at the forfront of her mind when Grey comes barreling back into her life. His life comes with the chaos of the media and after the scandal that surrounded her father years before, she’s skittish and reluctant about exposing herself to that again. I really admired the way Grey tried to protect Avery. He couldn’t possibly shield her from everything but the way he puts her feelings and needs first…sigh. Have I mentioned that I was kinda crushing on him? The love between these two is palpable. The years apart haven’t changed that.

The sexual tension is off the charts! They’d get so close to the good stuff and I’d get all excited and fluttery and then, they’d take a step back. I wanted to weep! It had to happen like that, Avery needed time to figure out what she wanted and how to navigate all the conflicting feelings swirling in her head. Thank freakin’ goodness it didn’t last long. I may have fist pumped…and whooped out loud, when the hot and sweaty yummy stuff finally happened! It was worth the wait. Holy combustible sexy times! Grey has moves ladies. Like, make your toes curl kinda moves. Ya, I uh think that perhaps I am SLIGHTLY nuts. My name is Nikki, and I love a fictional character. And I don’t even care!

Though these two are both fighting their own battles and insecurities, they want and need the same outcome…peace and a sense of contentment. I felt privileged to watch the process of all the pieces coming together. It was like standing back and seeing my friends find their place in the world they wanted.

Of course you get to visit with most of the Dare family in this book! You get glimpses into the characters lives from past books lives. I love seeing all the new babies coming into the world, the next generation of Dares! There is plenty of well placed humour, particularly when all the girls get together. The entire book was like coming home. I said before, these “people” are important to me. This series is important to me. Thank you Ms. Phillips for writing, yet again, another book that filled my heart with such joy and happiness! I can’t wait for book 9! Ummm…you don’t need to eat and sleep do you, Carly?

I love a reunion story and Avery and Grey's reunion story is absolutely perfect. Yes there is a bit of a bump in the road when they first see one another again. However, I loved the Grey didn't give up and was all about proving to Avery that he was back in Miami to stay. Grey and Avery seriously can't keep their hands off one another for long and I loved how strong their chemistry was even after being apart for so many years. Grey and Avery have both smoking hot sex and tender love making, both of which worked at the time.

I also loved how much time we got to spend with Avery and her siblings. Whether her brothers going all alpha-protective when the stalker showed up, or Avery getting to spend time with her sisters and sister-in-laws, I loved watching Avery get to spend time with her family. I loved how close Avery is to both Olivia and Sienna, and the different bond she shared with them both. I also loved Avery's best friend Ella and how Avery shared secrets with her she didn't even share with her sisters. Sometimes you need an outside person to confide in over a family member.

The more time Avery and Grey spent together, the more I loved them at a couple. I also loved they had couple friends with Grey's best friend Lola and her boyfriend Rep. Lola is such a fun and colorful character and I loved how protective she was of Grey when she first meets Avery. I really felt like Avery and Lola became friends so quickly because of how protective Lola was of Grey.

The one member of Avery's family who hasn't been a part of her life since she donated bone marrow to save Sienna is her father Robert Dare. I really hate this man with a passion for what he did to not only his legitimate children but his illegitimate children as well. While Ian got to give his father a little bit of what-for in his book, I've always believed Avery and Sienna are the ones with the most right to lay into their father. Let me just say one of my favorite parts of the whole book is when Avery talks to her father.

I honestly loved every single thing about Dare to Rock. Avery and Grey had the prefect reunion story proving second chances can work out. While there was drama with the stalker and life in general, I felt like it only made Grey and Avery's connection stronger faster. While Dare to Rock can totally be read as a stand alone story if you haven't read the other Dare to Love books, I really feel like you understand the family dynamics better if you read the books in order. I am now anxiously awaiting the release of the next book in the Dare to Love series, Dare to Seduce, which is Lucy and Max's story.

Avery Dare is an introvert and stay at home video blogger for makeup and fashion. Enjoying living her quiet life in Miami.

Grey Kingston is a rockstar who fulfill his dream and is ready to settle down. His talents for music are more than what's on the stage.

Dare To Rock, the seventh installment of the Dare to Love series, gives Avery and Grey a second chance at something they started years ago. Sparks still fly, the want and need raise quickly as Grey and Avery get to know each other all over again. Their lives as changed in many ways making them both different people. Over the years they still kept each other close to the heart. With the temptation right in front of them, wading through the obstacles of the past and press, show love, passion and compassion are what worth fighting for.

Carly Phillip rocks her readers to the core! Reconnection, chemistry, insane passion and a bit of mystery. Great characters with talent, personality, charisma, vulnerabilities and st charisma, vulnerabilities and strength. A great story that will make you laugh and feel. Dare To Rock is fully involved, hot read!

I love the continuing saga of the Dare family! Dare to Rock can be read alone, however this series in deep and emotional that I feeling the full series bring much more meaning to this book!

Avery Dare, the darling of the original Dare family, started having panic attacks when her father's double life was revealed to the public when she was a child. She doesn't like large outdoor crowds and prefers to be around friends and family. When Grey Kingston, rock star and Avery's high school ex, shows up and makes it known that he's leaving the band and he wants her back, what will she do? Can she handle being in the spotlight with a rockstar? The paparazzi? The stalkers?

Carly Phillips has done it again! This is another amazing addition to the Dare to Love series. My big question is, when will Robert Dare get a clue? He acts like everything that happened shouldn't bother his first family. And Grey? Way to go! He could give guys a lesson on being a VERY attentive boyfriend. The story was great all around. It flowed at the perfect pace and we got to see most of the Dare siblings. I can't wait for the next book in this fantastic series.

Every Dare book I have read, I have enjoyed. Dare to Rock definitely rocked as a read. Basically, this is a reunited lovers story. We have Avery and Grey who use be a couple in high school, but Grey wanted to make it big in the music world. So, he left everything behind without looking back. Which was pretty crappy on how he handle Avery. He realizes that he was wrong and now he needs to go back and fix things with Avery. The question can he do it?

Yes, this is one hot read, but the story is pretty awesome. We have Grey trying hard to win Avery back, but his super-stardom is kind of getting in the way. His manage isn't too happy with his decision on leaving, so he's being a bit of a challenge. Seriously, Simon is a sleazy guy, and would do anything to keep Grey inline. Not only do you have the hot and heavy parts, but you have Grey trying to combat Simon's actions. Definitely a challenge within itself. We also have Avery, who isn't quite sure if she could trust Grey. After all Grey did abandon her right after high school without looking back or try to make contact.

I also liked the secondary characters, because they bring to life what is going on in the story. You have Ella who basically stands by Avery when she needs her best friend for that sounding board. We also have Lola who is like a sister to Grey and is willing to have his back. However, my favorite part is when daddy dearest comes in making Avery and Grey's issue about him. On some level you have to admire Robert Dare for his ego, on the same hand you just wish someone would knock his lights out. Just wishful thinking there.

Dare to Rock is a pretty good read. If you love a rockstar that wants to come home and try to win the woman he left behind. I was a little disappointed on the outcome of Simon, but I still enjoyed the ending. A nice touch for a happy ever after.

This book is a yummy, delicious treat. One that I devoured, much like the previous books in the Dare to Love series. Yet, where the others packed an emotional wallop, this one had an essence of sweet contentment that was very much welcome. Given that this is a second chance novel (one of my faves), I was expecting the angst and drama factors to be high. However Grey and Avery seem to be two of the most adult people I've read in any romance book lately. So level-headed, and able to get past the BS and enjoy the time they had.

This was simply a book a rediscovering a love lost, and in a way beginning a life you always knew you were meant to have. Grey and Avery fell in love in their teen years, but they both a dreams and obstacles to overcome. They were just too young. And with that came the understanding and sorrow of why Grey left, and how Avery moved on and coped. They both took to their strengths and became sensations in their own right. When Grey came back, there was acceptance, and the feel of it finally being their time. Of course, being in the spotlight comes with some drama, and foes, so there is always an underlying evil trying to tear them apart... It was how they handled those instances that made me fall in love with this couple.

Grey and Avery were pure enjoyment. Reading to their HEA made my heart full and happy. And when Avery took her stand against her father - big fist pumping during that scene. If there's any doubt of her strength during this book, that will smash the theory to pieces. All in all, Dare to Rock was one of those feel-good books. The one you can read to put your mind at rest and just enjoy reading for the relaxation instead of the thrill. Yes, in the midst of said sweet story, you're still delivered a dirty talking alpha, with a health obsession for his woman. It's the perfect blend of sweet and raunchy and a book I'd recommend to anyone looking for an enthralling read!

Happy Reading!

I am so addicted to Carly's Dare series. I couldn't wait to read Avery's story of second chance love. She and Grey were sweethearts years ago when he left her behind to pursue his music. He became a rock star, but she was always on his mind and in his heart. When things go wrong at a concert he invited her to in order to reconnect, he makes a huge decision that will change his life. Avery isn't sure she can be part of his life as she suffers from anxiety attacks over big crowds due to something that happened to her as a child. Grey isn't going to let her go again and will fight for her. I really loved these two together and it was wonderful to watch them open their hearts to each other again.

I give Dare to Rock 5 hearts!

Teenage lovers are reunited in Carly Phillips’s Dare To Rock but the road back to each other isn’t easy for a rock star trying to move into a different phase of his career and a woman who wants nothing to do with the limelight and publicity he deals with every day. A shared past and heartbreak have defined them for the last several years but neither one can deny the feeling of rightness and happiness they feel when they are together again. As much as these two have grown in the last 7 years being back together shows them they have more to do and doing it together makes them only more certain of what they want their future to look like. Two people trying to figure out how to move past their past, learning to trust again and moving forward make Dare To Rock one entertaining and sexy reunion love story.

As a young child Avery Dare’s life was turned upside down when her father admitted he had a second family complete with four children and needed her and her sibling’s tested as a possible bone marrow donor for his youngest daughter of his other family. Avery never thought about saying no or being angry after all she was 8 years old but the events of that time have left her emotionally scarred for more than one reason.

Between never feeling like she was good enough for her father and his abandonment of her family she’s harbored issues for years and when her high school lover up and leaves her with no more than a day’s notice Avery doesn’t trust easily and gives her heart to no one.

Grey Kingston knows people think he’s crazy from walking away from his rock star lifestyle and his band but he’s begun to realize that there are more important things in life including the woman he left behind and his family. He knows he faces an uphill battle with Avery especially after their disastrous back stage meet up a few months ago but he is determined to prove to her that he’s not that guy, not anymore and he wants everything with her and her only. What Grey doesn’t know is that Avery has issues very few know about and that his famous lifestyle threatens her well being.

The minute these two are together again the heat between them is more than obvious. I love that Grey really was trying to woo Avery in a respectful way even though he wanted her again with all the passion he still felt for her. There was no doubt that Avery was gun shy and with reason she has big time abandonment issues and after witnessing Grey’s new lifestyle first hand she fears she’ll never be enough for him. I liked watching Avery take control of her life, standing up for herself with her big brothers, with Grey’s friends, business associates and yes even his fans but most especially with her ass of a father. I also respect that she didn’t want to use her connections to raise funds for a charity project she was doing that she worked hard to do it without calling on people who would have bankrolled it had she asked; it’s a testament to how much she wanted to be her own woman. I was a little disappointed in that we didn’t see these two have more heart to heart talks about the time they were apart, about how Grey leaving the way he did affected her and about what they truly wanted out of life as they moved forward. Don’t get me wrong I was happy with the way this story played out and the ending was really good but I just wanted more for them without sex taking precedence (not that those scenes were deliciously sensual and hot as hell but the needed more “real” time).

Grey’s notoriety brings with it press and problems not only for him but for Avery and her family as well adding some drama and a little bit of suspense. I did enjoy seeing some of Avery’s siblings and step-siblings as well as her roommate Ella and I’m intrigued by the connection between Ella and Avery’s brother Tyler.

I simply can’t get enough of Carly Phillip’s Dare series; with each book I’m more invested and more intrigued by this crazy, loving, mixed-up bunch of siblings and their significant others.

This was lovely, and my favourite story in the Dare series so far. Avery and Grey were high school sweethearts who separated when Grey decided to chase his dreams of music stardom and left Avery behind. He achieved everything he dreamed of, but found that it meant little when compared to Avery so sets out to win her back!

I loved both of them. They were sweet, sexy and fun together. I understood Avery's reluctance and admires her willingness to trust Grey again. I really loved how devoted Grey was to firstly winning Avery back, and then to showing her the life he wanted to build around her. They seemed to complement each other beautifully despite their differences, and there were so many sweet moments between them that I lost count!

All in all this was a truly wonderful instalment in an excellent series and I can't wait to read more in the future.

Avery Dare always had feelings for Grey Kingston but at eighteen he left to pursue being the lead guitarist in Tangled Royal. Avery became a blogger and excepted that she needed to move on. But the feelings never ended between them and Grey decided to leave the band and move back and get Avery back. The fans where not happy and start sending threats to Avery. Will the threats and the constant media attention destroy them

Let me start by saying I love this series and I recommend reading it from the beginning. These are stand alone books but you get the background of the family which gives insight as to why our Dare characters are the way they are. I have been waiting on Avery and Grey's story especially after the last book when we got a little sneak peak when Avery met Grey at one of his concerts. This is a great second chance romance and I love how Carly Phillips brings these two together and they work through their issues and realize that the love that they felt hasn't faded over the years. I loved both of the characters and Carly writes a believable story. I highly recommend this book and the whole series.

5 Stars!
The story has laughs, suspense, pain, secrets, and heartbreak. I was pulled right into this story. The story flowed well and I was kept interested.

If you have not already read the below I would recommend reading those books first:
Dare to Love (Dare to Love, #1)
Dare to Desire (Dare to Love #2)
Dare to Surrender (Dare to Love #3)
Dare to Submit (Dare to Love, #4)
Dare to Touch (Dare to Love #5)
Dare to Hold (Dare to Love #6)

This is Avery and Grey’s story. Avery and Grey were together years ago but Grey wanted to follow his dreams so he left Avery behind. Avery tends to stick close to home and with her close friends. When tickets arrive from Grey to his concert she wonders what he wants. When she shows up and he has a groupie all over him she knows she does not belong in that lifestyle. After he returns home he contacts her. He has missed her and wants her now and forever. He just has to convince her of that. When she gets a stalker he takes her to his home to stay so her can protect her but who is behind the stalker and what do they want? Can Avery and Grey make a relationship work when people are working against them? Will Grey be able to prove to Avery he is here to stay and this is not just a relationship to pass the time? When the stalker is finally revealed is it a surprise at how far the person was willing to go?

I loved these characters and all the Dare family members. I felt I was able to connect with the characters and the story was a great read.

I highly recommend this book, this series and this author.

Carly Phillips is one of my go to authors that I love and Dare to Rock doesn't disappoint.

Dare to Rock is book 7 in the Dare Series and I highly recommend this series for some hot, steamy fun.

Grey Kingston is tired of the spotlight, the women, drugs and feeling lost. The only person who has ever made him feel normal was Avery Dare. His first love and the girl he left behind for the spotlight. An attempt to reconnect with Avery while he was on the road, goes haywire and its the last straw. Grey is ready to go home and to reclaim the love of his life.

Avery Dare is an internet sensation. And that's perfectly fine with her. She likes the seclusion it brings - hiding behind the computer screen. After the media circus that was her family as a child, Avery has a phobia of the spotlight and it's no place she feels comfortable or wants to stay in. But when Grey Kingston comes back into her life, so does the spotlight.

Avery starts to be targeted as the girl who broke up the band and threats are made against her that she's not sure she can handle. Grey is caught between the love he's been fighting for and the life that he wants to leave, but has no plans on leaving him.

I really loved Grey and Avery together. Avery is a strong heroine and Grey is romantic and Alpha Rock Star that makes you melt.

Another amazing read from Carly!

5 Stars!

Brilliant! This author is amazing. It all started when I picked up a recommended freebie called Dare to Love. And since that book, I have steadily kept up with each in the series (and the few spin offs) because each book is brilliant. They continue to get better and better. This is a fun and sexy series with alpha men who make you swoon and strong women who make you believe. Curl up with any book from tis series and I guarantee you will be coming back for more.
I loved every single piece of this book. From start to finish Ms. Phillips captivated me and before I knew it, I had devoured this entire book. She sucked me in with her flawless writing and flowing storyline. This book... amazing and quite possibly the best in the series. It was sexy, sweet, fun, angsty, suspenseful, and had quite a few twists and turns along the way. This story is an epic romance that proves we all deserve a second chance in life and love... sometimes.

This is Avery and Grey's journey. Avery and Grey were high school sweethearts, in love, and had it all until Grey left her behind to follow the stars in his eyes, never looking back... until now. He is back and wants Avery but it is not going to be easy. Obstacles and road blocks will get in their way. Throw in some drama from the rock star life and a stalker... you have an epic love story that will stay with you long after its over. Get ready to rock out and believe in love and second chances.

I highly recommend this book.

4.25 stars---DARE TO ROCK is the seventh installment in Carly Phillips adult, contemporary DARE TO LOVE erotic romance series focusing on the Dare Siblings. This is rock star Grey Kingston, and professional vlogger (video blogger) Avery Dare’s storyline. Each installment can be read as a stand alone but for background and family history I recommend reading the series in order.

SOME BACKGROUND: Patriarch and hotel billionaire Robert Dare kept secret a second family from his first wife and children until a medical emergency forced Robert to reveal the existence of family number two. His daughter Sienna (second family) needed a bone marrow transplant and his desperate search found Avery was a match. Each storyline will focus on one of the Dare siblings; the relationship between the two families of adult children; and a father who may or may not be trying to amend for the sins of the past.

Told from third person point of view DARE TO ROCK is a second chance storyline for Avery Dare and Grey Kingston but also looks at how a father’s betrayal has affected our storyline heroine. Avery and Grey were high school sweethearts but Grey sought stardom with the rock band Tangled Royal, and left for the California dream of fame and fortune. Fast forward eight years Grey has never stopped loving Avery and with the band about to implode, Grey wants a second chance at love.

Avery Dare is a young woman who has suffered greatly because of her father’s betrayal. The revelation of a second family brought with it tabloid headlines and the paparazzi that all but destroyed, a then eight year old, Avery’s life. Her ability to trust is virtually non existent, and with it comes the shame of her father’s transgressions- a man who has yet to acknowledge his sins, or thank Avery for saving his other daughter’s life. Avery’s involvement with Grey will open old wounds when the tabloids republish the Dare family saga.

The relationship between Avery and Grey is one of mutual attraction; there is no denying their sexual chemistry but Avery has issues of trust especially where is concerns Grey Kingston-the only other man she has ever loved-and a man who walked away like her father. The $ex scenes are erotic, seductive and provocative. Grey is a rock star with a history of sexual conquests but his love for Avery finds our storyline hero looking towards a permanent future with Avery Dare.

A number of the previous storyline characters and Dare siblings play secondary and supporting roles. Avery’s brother Tyler Dare is a force unto himself as Avery’s over protective brother and a man who raises the hackles of Avery’s best friend and roommate Ella Shaw. Grey’s band manager Simon Colson is a man on a mission to destroy everything that Grey Kingston represents; and Grey’s friends and fellow band mate Lola, and her significant other Rep, drop by for some one on one time with our storyline hero.

DARE TO ROCK continues to focus on the Dare family and the resulting destruction of a father’s betrayal. There are moments of heartbreak and sorrow; love and understanding; family and friendships. The premise is impassioned yet heartbreaking; the characters are colorful, animated and intense; the happily ever after will make you smile. Carly Phillips wonderful DARE TO LOVE series captivated my imagination with one family’s continuing struggle to overcome a father’s deception and lies.

If you’re looking for a fun, steamy romance with a hint of rock and roll, Dare to Rock is for you. I really enjoyed Avery and Grey’s second chance at love story. They had great chemistry together and their relationship was hot, hot, hot! My favorite part of the story was getting to know more about Avery. Having read all of the previous books in the series, it was cool to finally get her perspective on her father and the rest of the Dare clan. Lovers of the Dare to Love series will love this book.

I have been enjoying the Dare series very much and this is a great addition. Love the characters and the reunion story. Their chemistry sizzles and they obviously have a deep bond that is still unbroken.

Talk about addiction and that would be the The Dare Series by Carly Phillips!! The Dare siblings are as addictive as vintage wine, sinful as black forest cake and utterly scrumptious with their faults and all.

Book seven of the series rocks with Carly Phillips signature narration and weaving a story of long lost love and friendship that finds way back to Avery Dare and Grey Kingston. High school sweethearts, life separates them taking them on different paths. But with fame also comes a time that makes one realize what’s missing in life and famous rock star Grey Kingston wants his Avery back.

With a turbulent childhood that never seems to go away, Avery Dare has made a name for herself as a professional blogger and a woman who has braved the truth of a second family of siblings. Her heart forever belongs to Grey and his love and strength gives her courage to face the demons of a past that threatens her present and future.

As Grey and Avery romance their way to falling all over in love with each again, jealousy and despair seem to threaten their relationship. With family rallying around them, Avery and Grey make a beautiful couple that rocks our world of reading.

Carly Phillips as always brings out the nuances of a family, the dynamics of having stepsiblings and the emotions that portray the fears and insecurities surrounding them. She pays special attention to the characters giving them individuality. Avery’s confrontation with her father is something to read and enjoy.

Can’t wait for the next Dare to fall at the heels of love!

I have been enjoying this author and this series for some time. However, I believe this is, sadly, the first one I am reviewing. Although for the most part this was a decent read, I am not a huge fan of the rock star trope nor the second chance trope. My failing, and I should have passed on this one for that reason.

All that rock star notoriety tends to irritate me, even more so than it did Avery Dare. For different reasons, but I have an avid dislike for tabloids and their sleaziness. So when that figures in a story . . . Add to that the viciousness displayed in the comments of a blog and well, I guess you could say it hits triggers. But that is not really true. More like it hits pet peeves. I personally, do not find tabloids and trolls to be entertaining. I prefer to avoid them when possible. So I had a few personal issues with this story.

But please, do not let that keep you from reading it. As usual Ms Phillips writes a good story. There is the romance with its conflicts that I usually like. I should have looked more closely at what this story was about, instead of simply going by the fact that it was a Dare to Love story by Carly Phillips. My bad.

For those of you who like the rock star and/or second chance tropes, not to mention the Dare to Love series and Carly Phillips, you won’t want to miss this one.

This review pertains to Dare to Rock, by Carly Phillips, book seven in the Dare to Love series. Thanks CP Publishing for the chance to read and review. I loved this book! This was a quick, sweet & sexy romance which was the perfect poolside vacation read for me. I love rock star romances, and this had some essence of that, but is truly a second chance at love story which was a pleasure to read. Fan of the series will love it and if your looking for a romance this is one to read. Highly recommended!

I have found that each book in this series gets better and better and the story of Grey and Avery is no exception. The book keeps you wanting more as you read about Grey and what brought him to feel he needed to prove more and run and how Avery became who she was as well. At the beginning I could understand her apprehension towards Grey and his intentions but as it went on I was angry with her. She shutdown and wasn’t willing to chance it. Grey was showing his intentions and his feelings quite loudly and she laughed it off out of fear. She wasn’t willing to let go of the past and try to see a future with him.

Yes Grey was pretty horrid in his actions as a teen and than he let fear control him. He wanted to become something and than it got to his head. than he was ashamed of what he let happen. When he finally realized his mistakes he did do everything to correct them. This is when Avery got on my pooh list. I mean really closing yourself off all the time isn’t going to help you feel safe. It only hurts in the end.

Together these two are a mix of sweet and hot. They have the steamy intimate moments but for me the more intimate moments were the times in which they got closer through being there for one another. Whether that be through support or listening and encouraging those moments were more precious and intimate than any others.

the actions that caused Avery to second guess but also stand up for herself and Grey were terrible. I was glad to see these two ride it out together and come out stronger in the end. The looks that were being passed between one of her brothers and roommate has me hoping and wondering.

I love in the end when Avery does find strength from Grey and stands up for herself and her feelings. She owns them and that is awesome to see. So is the connection between the two.

This is a book about getting past the hurt of the past to see what is in front of you and letting the person in. Allowing them to show you their love and support. A wonderful romantic sweet and at times sexy book about two childhood sweethearts who come back together after spending time growing up apart only to find that they are meant for each other.

are to Rock is book 7 in the Dare To Love series. I have read the entire series. This is a second chance romance between Avery Dare, one of the Dare siblings and rockstar Grey, Avery's high school love. Grey and Avery dated when they were young, but he left her to follow his dreams. Well, he's back and he wants a second chance. Avery hasn't gotten over the trauma of her past. She can't forget her father having two families and asking her to do something to save his other daughters life. She has over protective brothers that still treat her like a child and no one wants her to be with Grey. Avery still has feelings for Grey and she wants to try to make it work. Can Avery be with Grey and go against her family and friends? Will the paparazzi be too much for her? I enjoyed Grey and Avery's story, but it wasn't my favorite couple from the series.

"We click, Grey. And I can't run from that anymore."
"Thank fuck," he muttered.
"I can't promise what the future with bring," she has to add. "But I'm here now and I'm trying to give this thing a shot."

This is the seventh book in the Dare To Love series of contemporary romances. Each book can be easily read as a stand alone, but the characters are related by one father with two families made public by the illness of one of his daughters.

Avery Dare is the youngest in the first family and was most affected by her father's scandal and desertion. She has become successful blogging online, which allows her to be in control of her surroundings and avoid stressful interactions and anxiety attacks. She receives an invitation to a concert from her famous high school exboyfriend, Grey Kingston. Grey took off after high school to find fame and fortune as a rock star not caring about leaving behind his family or Avery. Now he is back home to stay, has quit the band and touring to set things right with his family and claim Avery, who is the only woman he has ever really loved.

Avery and Grey were perfect for each other. The personal issues that needed resolved by both were handled so well and with a lot of heart. Their sexual relationship was hot and steamy and not gratuitous. External plot problems of a crazy groupie and a sleazy manager were intertwined through the story and added just the right amount of suspense. This was a very satisfying installment in this series.

Thank you to CP Publishing and Net Galley for allowing me to read this ebook in exchange for an honest review. I am looking forward to reading more in this series.

Received an ARC for an honest review.

I know that I say each of these Dare books is better than the last, but this one might top the cake. From page one, she had me. Heck, even before page one when we got hints of Avery and Grey's past, I wanted to know what was going on. Grey was immediately likable in the prologue, and we understood where he was coming from and the first part from Avery's point of view made her instantly some one I wanted to know more about.

It was clear that they had an uphill battle before them, but Phillips has you rooting for them from the get go. There is something about Avery's dedication to her family, the hospital, and even Grey, that turns her weaknesses (if you really want to call them that), into battle scars, proving all that she's overcome. And I'm not going to give spoilers, but there are a few scenes having to do with her father that had me tearing up and also jumping up and cheering for her.

This book was everything I wanted and more. And don't even get me started on those steamy love scenes...because I don't think I'll be able to stop. I don't know how Carly is going to top this one, but I'm sure excited to find out.

This is one of those authors and series that you just can't go wrong with.
The Dare family is unique as is each character. Dare to rock follows Avery and Grey.

We start this book where Avery goes to Grey's show. He really wanted her there, wanted to see her yet a crazy groupie is all over him and Avery sees it. She runs from the site. We jump to the here and now as they each are living their own separate lives. Grey has made attempts to stay in touch but Avery is afraid. Avery has a past she hasn't quite made peace with and suffers panic attacks.
As these two are trying to rebuild their relationship and the trust that accompanies it, we have an element of danger due to the previous crazed fan.

I can't say how much I loved this book! The characters are perfect together. The secondary characters (other Dare family members) just add to the story.
This is a series that once you begin you won't want it to ever stop!

This is the 7th book in this series. I loved all of these books, they're well written and the development of the characters is great! The Dare family has many issues, but they are a loving, dysfunctional family that manages to overcome the hurdles thrown at them. This is Avery's Dare's story, the second chance romance with her ex high school boyfriend, Grey, now a big time rockstar. Can they overcome the past and have a HEA? Rec'd an arc from net galley for an honest review.

Really enjoyed this! Will definitely be going back and reading the other Dare novels.

I am new to the series. Dare to rock is the first book in the Dare to Love series that I have read and it won't be the last. The truth is that I don't plan to read the six previous books because they are mostly about characters I don't know. I am reluctant about Dare to seduce the next novel because it is about a two people who I am not sure that they were mentioned in this novel. I will be reading Dare to Take though, because I liked how we were teased about Ella and Tyler's story. I wonder if there is a spin off novel about Lola's story. I would totally read that.

Dare to rock has an easy and steady pace that made my reading experience so much better. The drama was expected considering that we are talking about a rock star novel and there was a balance between the romance and the drama and that doesn't give the reader the feeling that things are over the top. By the end of the book all the plotines had come to an end (which I was worried it wouldn't happen for some reason) and I was satisfied. This novel is a good way to spend your time, but it didn't feel like a 5 star book. The rock star theme isn't very present and it's mostly about the romance, so I will be recommending the series to people who like a second chance romance rather than a book with rock stars.

Another hit for Carly Phillips and so loving the Dare series. I loved that even though the fear is there Avery is determined to get past it. Grey now he may seem like your usual rock star but beneath all that he is just trying to be normal. Carly Phillips has a way of getting you into the book with flair and passion definitely will see this with Grey and Avery. I cannot wait for more of her Dare series each one just rocks and pulls you in every way.

The emotional trauma and drama of the Dare family continues with Avery and Grey’s story of reconnecting and finding a lasting love. I wasn’t sure I’d like this story because it seemed they both had SOOO many obstacles to overcome to have chance at happiness together that I feared the story wouldn’t be able to be properly fleshed out with its relatively short length. But once again Carly Phillips overcomes all odds and blows past my expectations. Grey is the type of guy we all see on the surface and think he’s just the man for us—gorgeous, sensual, rich, loved and loving—but beneath those layers his heart is soft and sweet and he has found that the important things in life are those that affect him on that deeper level. Avery was an intriguing mix of strength and vulnerability, standing up for what she wants at the most unexpected moments, then crumbling just as easily because of hurts long healed. I loved getting to see more of the family and learn about the dynamics of some of the other relationships and have a sinking suspicion I know whose book will be next and I cannot wait. If you haven’t grabbed the Dare to Love series yet, I recommend you run right out and give it a shot, because this family is the modern day, sensually portrayed, Kennedy family, and the members will hold your interest if for no other reason than their pasts are so outrageous. Another hit, Carly!

I received this book from Rock Star Lit in exchange for an honest review This was a great story of 2nd chance at love. I haven't read any of the series by Carly Phillips but I had no problem following along with this book. It was a great romance of Grey and Avery.

Grey the rock star looking at other options for his future is pursuing Avery from their high school days. They go through a lot of issues with his stardom. The chemistry between the two jumps off the pages. It was a very quick, easy read. The writing flowed very well. I definitely recommend this series and I look forward to reading some more about the Dare family.
